Like the one from New Haven that is only available with the burger and bread. That place uses those iron birdcage type looking devices which are super ancient and supposedly used for the first iteration of cooking burgers. That’s their claim to fame.
Exact reason I get turned off from enjoying one. My beard and moustache becomes a magnet to those sauces.

if they grind the meat themselves it is ok, because they discard the outer layer where the bacteria lives, inside the meat there are none, store bought has to be cooked, as the parts that are coverd in bacteria are on the inside as well because they dont discard the outer layer. i know i have typos, im too lazy to correct them i have other tzhings to do

Best burger I ever had was pretty simple. Burger with brie between an english muffin as a bun. I had no idea an english muffin was so perfect for a burger.

Best I had was a pork and deer burger it was a patty made of of mixed deer and pork Holy shit was it nice
I'll give you the secret to the best burger:
Lean minced beef - season/mix with salt, pepper, cayenne, smoked paprika, fresh crushed garlic, diced onion, chives, zucchini (with the juice squeezed out. Or any other vegetable... You won't taste it, trust me) grated parmesan, an egg, breadcrumbs and olive oil. Mix that all together and make them into smashed patties.
After flipping, add your cheese - Jarlsberg for a kick, havarti for the creaminess or even plain old orange American cheese...
Then the sauce:
3 parts mayo
1 part Dijon mustard
2 teaspoons of gerkhin relish
1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon of onion powder
1/2 teaspoon of smoked paprika
Salt and pepper
(I feel like I'm forgetting something super important. But just go by taste I spose 👌)
Toast your buns with butter (I like poppy seed)
Oh yeah, and fried crispy bacon is essential 😋 I use smoked short cut
Assemble your burger with whatever else you like: lettuce, tomato (I prefer bell peppers), raw red onion (so good, but heartburn alert), avocado, a fried egg etc.
Seriously, I ran the kitchen in rehab (lol woo) but every Friday we had a BBQ night and everyone there said my burgers were THE BEST. (And adding vegetables into the meat is a great way to sneak them in for people, or kids especially, who refuse to eat them.
Aw man, I want a burger so bad now 😂 but hell no to the Nutella. On Easter a popular burger joint in my area served a hot cross bun burger, and yes, with the sultanas in. It was 🤮

A diner near me has a no nonsense big chuck that’s 3/4 ib with 2 slices of cheese, bacon, and an egg. It’s one of my favorites I order about 6 to 8 times a month along with their fries

I am a NYC area native and my love for a thick burger proved it!!! LA...what on earth are those flattened process cheese slice sized burgers???? Are you kidding me??? Here in India , we can get like a chowmein (garlic spicy noodles) burger . It has a patty , tomato , cucumber, onion , chowmein and friend buns. It is so good u gotta try it once

Billy Goat Tavern and Red Hook Tavern are my kind of burgers. Not flashy, but tasty burgers.
I've had both the Au Cheval and Billy Goat burgers (I live in Illinois). The Billy Goat was nothing special and the Au Cheval burger was okay but way too expensive. Tbh my favorite and most underrated burger comes from Portillo's.
The plan check burger was pretty creative I have to say. Most of the others were just a greasy mess and don't even get me started on the nutella burger..
