  • Pilots of all experience levels contribute to over two-thirds of all runway incursions. Holding short of a runway at the appropriate location is essential to maintaining a safe airport environment. Every airport is unique, and complex runway and taxiway configurations can lead pilots to make mistakes in the air and on the ground. Know when and where to hold short.
FAA's From the Flight Deck video series uses cockpit mounted cameras to capture runway and taxiway footage and combines them with diagrams and visual graphics to clearly identify hot spots and other safety-sensitive items. Learn more at www.faa.gov/go/FromTheFlightDeck
This video is informational only and does not replace the pilot’s responsibility to conduct required pre-flight planning in accordance with FAR 91.103.

FAA is definitely the most solid aviation authority in the entire world, along side with EASA!

As a former CFI, this is a great video the faa has put out and I think a huge takeaway is sterile cockpit. I think that's one of the biggest challenges. Pilots, sterilize your flight decks and it'll help!

Sorry, CFI's are the worst offenders. I have never been with a CFI yet that won't shut up. Even my check rides were similar. I guess it's a "familiarity breeds contempt" thing. Especially since most of the time you are at familiar airports doing familiar tasks, the boredom of it all, the routine of it all. The one rule everyone seems to abide by is both pilots always confirm with the other whether "Hold Short Clearance" was granted. When one say's yes and one says no, or "I think so" or anything ambivalent like that we always always always called the tower! But generally speaking you CFI's are a chatty bunch! :-)

"HOLD SHORT of active" is UTILIZED on VOR and IFR traffic from TRACONS. FAA has longer reaching ombudsman and grounding POWER.

ATC error is also responsible for Runway collisions

Sounds like you need to start putting traffic lights on the airports. No clearance RED , clearance GREEN, hold short flashing AMBER.

I think we should regulate and fine all "checkers" players. Checkers and chess is far more dangerous. Im sure some child has died by eating a checker, Yet not 1 person has died or had a serious injury from a "UAS". Why dont ya just say drone because this has nothing to do with safety. They do not require Tracking chips on RC Airplanes which get up to the size of small cars and people definatly get hurt when they crash, and they crash often. This has all been paid for by Amazons Jeff Bezos, Richest Man in the world. Your not suppose to do everything he tells ya
