I absolutely love my Razr. I agree that's it's overpriced but so is the iPhone. I got 300 off through a Verizon promotion. I felt at that price it was well worth it. I think with Motorola Razr it was all about design, I love the design of this phone, the outer screen (like with the Galaxy fold, just the razr was way better executed) is fantastic and allows you to do more of the day to day stuff without opening the phone and putting more wear on the folding screen, more especially since the recent update! The fold has also been done better than Samsung as it has been designed not to put as much pressure on the screen itself. Where they made the biggest mistakes was the internal specs, you CANNOT have a phone at that price point without the specs.. anyone who wants a phone with those sorts of specs are not looking to spend that kind of money and if you’re the sort of person (like myself) who just wants a folding phone, you’re not going to spend that kind of money and get those specs... fingers crossed the razr 2 will be an improvement.

Nice review! That's exactly how I used to open and close my Razr V3 back in the day. This one looks cool, it's just that I've been using Motorola devices for some years and I can't help but notice that the materials they use to build their devices seem to be each year of poorer quality, too fragile, even using the same kind of phone cases that perfectly protected my devices in the past. So, imagine spending these 1500 dollars (which here in Argentina were 130000 pesos initially, now it's more expensive) and you find the back, the front screen or the inside screen scratched for no apparent reason in such short time. And let's not talk about the awful amount of noise in the pictures you take with their cameras, or even that the lenses also get scratched too easily, over time they're so scratched that your pictures start to look blurry, all these things happened to me using a Moto Z and the Motorola one. I was much more happy with the original Moto X, although they didn't use the best materials at the time, it had a very nice touch to it, and looked so good, I got it secondhand and the camera was perfect, and so it was until the last moment I used it. I think all the urge to have the flashiest phone out there made them forget that phones are not only good for their look or for having 3, 4 or 5 cameras (which still can't even rival a 10 years old Nikon) phones also have to be well built and durable, at least one year, before looking like they've been used for three years.

The android 11 update got to my device couple days ago and its making my decision on ordering the new Z Flip 3 questionable. The outter screen options that the RAZR 5G had were missing from the original RAZR, but with the new update I can pretty much use any app on the smaller screen which I can now do without having to open the phone. Something that i dont think will be available with the Flip. Even RUclips, Netflix, Disney+ works on the outter screen now, crazy but capable lol. This will sound silly but what really kept me from going to the RAZR 5G right away was the lack of good casses. I got the OtterBox case with my first gen RAZR and it looks amazing. It gives it that rugged look that i like plus it helps with the opening with one hand since it has a lip for the thumb to fit just right. @@lukmly013 you can save money easily for something you want. Lets say you make $3000 a month, which is about $700 less than the average American makes in a month. Rent is $500 which includes electricity, heat, and other basic essentials. You put aside $250 for food. You should save $750 for retirement, $750 for savings, and another $250 for emergency savings. Then lets say you spend anywhere from $100-$300 on transportation, since it varies depending on how far you go. That leaves you with anywhere from $200 to $500 which is your "play" money. You can do whatever you want with it. If you were to save $200 each month you would have $1500 in 7.5 months, and you could have enough for the phone.
I can buy over 20 of these phones and it wouldn't even put a dent on my wallet. However, I would not invest $1500 for this or any other phone. Maybe $500 - $650 at most but no more and that would ONLY BE if I needed a new phone due to my current phone malfunctioning.
Can you compare the Z Flip to the Motorola Razr with a bonus comparison the Galaxy Fold just for fun? I know a lot of us would want that and you would be first youtuber to compare all the current major folding phones!
This video was you showing off your nice hands, #handmodel lol but for real the thing most interesting about the RAZR to me is the 21:9 screen and overall physical design. I think there's alot of credit you gotta give that this phone had some thought put in, it's not just a smart phone folded In half, the two half's actually fold to connect neatly unlike the zflip. Also 21:9 is werid, but it's also a new trend that some phones have taken, like Sony Xperia one 2. I think the RAZR isnt meant to be used to consume RUclips or games. But I also think media format will change to adapt to the 21:9 and will be the new standard.
I really want a successor of the 2020 razr. it should have durable display, wireless charging, improved battery life...and most of all, physical sim since there is no support for e-sim in my country.
The razr is amazing. The foldable screen is just the right thing for me. Yes, the phone screen might get damaged over time, yes the battery might just last 12 hours, yes a bit of dust might get inside a bit over time, but who cares, i don´t intend to keep it forever. Just for a couple of years. It was either this or the samsung. But at half the price, it´s a no brainer. 1350 for the samsung or 750 for this beauty. As everything in life, it's not perfect, but it´s certainly a beauty, works fine, and gets the job done. So I got it, and i´m very happy with it. No regrets whatsoever.
@@thatoff-roaddude9515 i know its not for everyone, and also i love this phone, but to say this is some sort of a magnificent phone... That's incorrect
Personally, I do think that besides the price tag (and that Galaxy Z Flip on the market), the questionable quality of the hinge is also a major factor of causing this product to be disliked by many people...
I will say that if folding phones become the norm, this is the design manufacturers need to go with. Folding tablets are a fun idea, but not something that people can fit in their pockets. Both this and the Galaxy Fold did it perfectly. Hopefully as time goes on, these devices will become easier to make, cheaper to the consumer, and added ruggedness to the design. (I'd go bonkers for a Galaxy Fold Active)
Its been a practice that any phone brands release a certain model and listen for a while for any feedbacks, then they release a better model, maybe faster but a lot way better than the first one. Remember the time when iPhone release a US only version and people complain they cannot travel the globe with it. So Apple Inc get to follow it with another yet actually the same model that can be used or sell world wide. As for the new RAZR it maybe needs to have a faster processor, or better screen resolution or a way better camera, or a water resist, shock proof model where previous Motorolas were fashioned in such a way. Who knows
Modern smartpohones may fit into the average *man's* pockets, but I've heard many complaints from women about this issue. Women's pants typically have smaller pockets that can't hold the large phones that have become normal. Also, for someone like me who prefers skinny or slim fit jeans, if the phone fits in the pocket it is very noticeable and difficult to get out. I can see the benefit from the smaller form factor the Razr and Z Flip offer.
I had one on pre-order the day it was released kept it a week and pre-ordered the S20 ultra and was told to keep the razr past the 14 return date ... had it 3 weeks total until the S20 ultra came in ... the razr4 turned heads and worked well and battery wasn't bad and a phone txt and talk but Facebook and RUclips killed it ... i do find myself missing it sometimes honestly I was afraid of breaking it and the S20 ultra is badass
To release a brand new phone with low budget materials, low-quality feel, low tech camera, and especially a low battery life capacity, low processor specs and old operating system is competitive market suicide. Then on top of that who would be foolish enough to grant crooks like Verizon exclusivity? That, is definitely having one foot in the grave. Makes one wonder ... who is the CEO at Motorola?
Wes R. Wes R, you don't sound too bright. I bet you don't even have a solution, I do, but I won't post it on RUclips for free. In response to your comment about the CEO, a CEO is not an overachievement! Maybe, to you. Especially, a CEO who can't even invest in a decent hinge, let alone in a decent battery (solid state or whatever). It is no excuse for releasing a poorly designed device. By the way, I am a CEO of my own process server company. The rest, is nobody's business.
Wes R., come to think of it, George Washington Carver was not a CEO nor a member of the Food & Drug Administration, yet he was more powerful than the entire Food & Drug Administration combined! So, before you get all emotional with your }}}} excessive exclamations, let me address to you two simple questions before you dare think that you can take me on: 1) What was the most significant mistake that Apple failed to take advantage of, awhile, Steve Jobs was around, that would have "crushed" Microsoft? 2) What is the difference between a manager and a leader? If you can't answer these, I seriously doubt that you are even a future candidate to be a CEO. By the way you replied, you can use a crash-course in business etiquette before you can even request to speak to a CEO. In the business world, "I need" is very self-serving expression and is an unprofessional approach. I bet you have no solutions, and you're just a typical RUclipsr with a poor attempt to discredit my comment.

I don’t recommend opening the phone that aggressively. I had the original razor and after a while the top screen stopped displaying after constantly opening it like that.
I got an Xperia 1 II instead because it gave me better bang for buck (especially the camera) but fuck me this phone is drop dead gorgeous. If Motorola decides to release a future version with a better camera I would definitely consider it because I want a phone that can fold to take up less space in my pocket.
i will buy a foldable when they get down to 300 or so. mainly because it cant be my daily driver. my working conditions would shred the screen in a day
I think is a good phone and in some ways better than the Galaxy Z Flip like it's bigger external screen with much more interactions, the plastic bottom body which adds grip among others. I think future generations are the ones to watch out for tho because they'll improve on the downsides of its predecessor.
If this phone launched with a lifetime screen warranty and at $350 I would have gotten it. But $1500? What? Did they think this was the first go with this style phone? Even the first time around we didn't pay this much at launch for mediocre specs.
The first gen of huge hyped flagships are always expensive. People who think $1500 is too expensive are extremely unintelligent. Yea, it's expensive for the tech but as time goes on, and the next version comes out, it'll be cheaper and with better tech. All because they charged so much for version one.
My thoughts exactly! It's laughable that people expect a phone of this caliber, even with its mid-range specs, to be $300 - $500. Go buy an iPhone SE if you're looking for a smartphone in that price range. Here we have a one of the first phones on the market with brand new technology that is an engineering feat. Even if the material the display is made of isn't what people are used to and they have durability concerns, you still have to take a step back and realize what is being achieved here. You are literally taking a screen and folding it in half without breaking it! Of course, you're going to pay a premium for that.
I hope it has a big price drop. Its $2299 where I live. Far too expensive needs a huge drop before I think about buying it. I get the tech is ahead of it's time compared to competitors but it's still too expensive. I hope they dont abandon this phone. Next gens after the tech gets cheaper and moto could get more customers back

I'm glad I ended up buying my LG V20 - The removable battery, SD card slot, 3.5mm audio jack, IR emitter, are all essential.
6:00 anybody over the age of 25 SHOULD know how to open and close a flip phone🤨. This isn’t new.
I’m 23 and know how lol. Than again my very first phone was a flip phone 😂

5:17 Bro my largest pocket of my girl jeans is the size of your small jeans pocket
I remeber in class once, fourth grade, we were doing a class about averaging, and the teacher had us find the average pockets per kid. I had 9 on my cargo pants. I had one more than all the girls in our class combined. Our class was 50/50 girls to boys
Change pockets don't need to be that big....
I love my razr do I think it's worth 1500 no but over all it's a really nice fn ok phone
Are you that rich or you live with parents?
Going by the wording I heavily doubt you have one
I can buy over 20 of these phones and it wouldn't even put a dent on my wallet.
However, I would not invest $1500 for this or any other phone. Maybe $500 - $650 at most but no more and that would ONLY BE if I needed a new phone due to my current phone malfunctioning.
Black Shark weird flex but ok
The motorolla peek and the camera and flashlight gestures is pretty much one of the defining factors of a motorola phone, and
Can you compare the Z Flip to the Motorola Razr with a bonus comparison the Galaxy Fold just for fun? I know a lot of us would want that and you would be first youtuber to compare all the current major folding phones!
Z flip doesn't have front screen. It's stupid and fat.
I was hoping you were old enough to have to used a flip phone before I was was wrong...
Can you compare the z flip vs Motorola razr
Great video! Where did you get that live wallpaper of the mountain on the Galaxy fold?
The flashlight is my favorite feature with my Motorola Z4
I really want a successor of the 2020 razr. it should have durable display, wireless charging, improved battery life...and most of all, physical sim since there is no support for e-sim in my country.
Your the best person to do electronics review love you keep up the work
I will consider buying one when they move the price down to £89 -£100
The razr is amazing.
I have 1 and I love it... best device I've ever owned 🤙🏽

Thanks for that Bc I was about to order one and was getting bc pretty frustrated at there being no long term review
I wish motorola released the new razr on any other carriers not just verizon...
Personally, I do think that besides the price tag (and that Galaxy Z Flip on the market), the questionable quality of the hinge is also a major factor of causing this product to be disliked by many people...
UK/EU are still getting ripped of with prices still £1000 - £1500 and higher. Cheapest price on Ebay was £999 USED with visibile marks.
Great video. Thanks for this very useful review. 👍👌
Do you think we could get a review of the Samsung Tab S6 Lite when it ships?
Yep I have it ordered!
Are you going to do hands on review for the Galaxy Flip?
Thank you
🙏🏻wonderful video.Have always luv the flip, just not as practical today as we use our phones continuously through everyday.
It should have some kind of thumb stud, like on folding knives to help with opening. Or some light, spring-loaded assist system.
Of course it's been quiet. For that price, nobody wants to touch it
The phone is awesome! I love it!
It's getting there. With its specs and being a folder, I think $500 is about what I would be willing to pay.
(((({{{(((I need to speak to your CEO!!!!!!!)))}}}))
Marshall Kinnaird Marshall, you have a good point. 👍
Wes R., come to think of it, George Washington Carver was not a CEO nor a member of the Food & Drug Administration, yet he was more powerful than the entire Food & Drug Administration combined!
So, before you get all emotional with your }}}} excessive exclamations, let me address to you two simple questions before you dare think that you can take me on:
1) What was the most significant mistake that Apple failed to take advantage of, awhile, Steve Jobs was around, that would have "crushed" Microsoft?
2) What is the difference between a manager and a leader?
If you can't answer these, I seriously doubt that you are even a future candidate to be a CEO.
By the way you replied, you can use a crash-course in business etiquette before you can even request to speak to a CEO.
In the business world, "I need" is very self-serving expression and is an unprofessional approach.
I bet you have no solutions, and you're just a typical RUclipsr with a poor attempt to discredit my comment.
Nice keep it up 💪👍👌
Basically, if you're android, are looking for a long term phone in the new decade, really love flipphones. Then yeah get it.
When do you think it’ll be available on other carriers?
Any comments on how it *sounds* as a *phone* -- in regular, speaker & hands-free in car modes???
I have a 2007 motor razor the back cover is rubber and it’s real sticky how can I clean it please help ..
Can you please do an updated tab s6 with one ui 2.0 review???
If I can find an used one for cheap I’ll get one, seems cool
Just get z flip

I don’t recommend opening the phone that aggressively. I had the original razor and after a while the top screen stopped displaying after constantly opening it like that.
Every first edition tech always has issues. That's why it's best to wait for the Moto razr 2. I hope they make one with the short comings fixed.
imagine this style with the regular razr 🤷🏼♀️
Are you recording with a 11 Pro
I believe that he is, from viewing 4:15
@@Photo0021 oh yeah he is
The biggest problem is making it Verizon exclusive any exclusive phone hurts it.
Again two months later, in my European country, the Razr Fold still costs... $ 1685 ~ $ 1765 (price converted back from € to Dollars)
I got an Xperia 1 II instead because it gave me better bang for buck (especially the camera) but fuck me this phone is drop dead gorgeous. If Motorola decides to release a future version with a better camera I would definitely consider it because I want a phone that can fold to take up less space in my pocket.
Can you text someone while phone is closed? Can you charge it while closed?
Traded mine in without opening it mind you for a z fold 2 best decision I ever made.
You dont know what you missed
What about screen protectors? I drop my iPhone a lot!
250/299 tops... And probably will used it while exercising or going out.. 👍 great video.. 👍 :)
i will buy a foldable when they get down to 300 or so. mainly because it cant be my daily driver. my working conditions would shred the screen in a day
I think is a good phone and in some ways better than the Galaxy Z Flip like it's bigger external screen with much more interactions, the plastic bottom body which adds grip among others. I think future generations are the ones to watch out for tho because they'll improve on the downsides of its predecessor.
me personally could use this. I dont use my phone for anything other than music, texting, calls, and twitter. even youtube is a rarity
$750 isn't bad but for like $500 it'd be the perfect backup/secondary phone
Naah I’ll still buy it when it comes to 300$
I really love watching your videos
Keep up the good work!
Looks great and I would pay the price if the phone will be more rugged.
This is a super cool idea but if I'm honest I'd much sooner buy an updated Android powered Ming a1200. Easily my favorite phone ever.
Even if modern big phones can fit in a pocket that is while standing, good luck sitting down comfortably
cant wait for the crazr!!!!
I hope it has a big price drop. Its $2299 where I live. Far too expensive needs a huge drop before I think about buying it. I get the tech is ahead of it's time compared to competitors but it's still too expensive. I hope they dont abandon this phone. Next gens after the tech gets cheaper and moto could get more customers back
You've got to review the z flip!
