I grew up around 2 brothers the oldest one was 2 years older than myself and the middle brother... they bought one of these bikes in the early 90s... their dad would have to come Kickstart it for us because it would throw us over the handlebars... lol.. we loved riding that bike.. it was a animal... I've got a 2000 cr250 Husqvarna that I'm redoing now that was a factory race bike shipped to the local ama champion that year here in Illinois... he actually got given 2 of them and I don't know what happened to the other one that he raced but I've got the bike he kept for practice..
That bike is a 1978. In 1979 all Husky's CR's and OR's came out with a completely new frame, with longer suspension travel front and rear that made the 78, the old style. I know, because I bought a new one September 1978, about a month before the 79's came out. I was very upset with my dealer and never dealt with him again.
@@madtyi1916 ya reached down n the lrft side n moved a lever n just gave it gas it would shift at certain rpm or if ya just let off the gas it was a ole hushy 390 automatic wicked bike
Yea nice so you'd get to no whenbyhe gear changes that wouldnt be so bad I need to be more forcefull with the gear changes? I kept hitting neutral after first
I love the bike and had a 79 390 auto. The tank on yours is from an auto model that's why the tank decal states to be at idle before engaging in gear.
I had a 80 husky 390. Freaking awesome bike

OR stood for off road. Mostly made for western type racing..talk to DB. He knows these bikes very well. Nothing but love. Ie: tall gearing.
