Absolutely insane update, I have been trying it out for a few hours now and it's a huge jump from the old version. Also for me personally the new systems and new menu/window is extremely intuitive and easy to understand, It's also just so much easier to calibrate now and everything that I have tested so far (sitting in chair, sitting on floor, laying on back, laying on side) have all worked quite flawlessly! -and the adjustments you can make to for sitting/laying is really nice. Very impressed.
Haven't kept up with the project for a hot minute, but it's amazing seeing how far it's come from the 1st version! It seems so much more versatile now!! Nice work!
There are a LOT of questions and getting used to the new systems. I plan on releasing a v2.0.1 (or v2.1) patch in the new few days to help solve some issues. One of the biggest issues is a bunch of jittery movement and lag when using Virtual Desktop. This is being actively looked into and I hope to get a workaround out in v2.0.1 in the meantime while I look into the root cause. v2.0 is quite a bit more complex to use than v1.1, so please be patient with us and be patient with the software as you learn all the quirks it has and how it differs from v2.0. That's all for now.
Fifteen minutes into this and for the first time I looked at a mirror and went "That ain't me, that's someone with my avatar." This tool is powerful. I'd say 80% of what FBT can offer (unless you do acrobatics). My only (skill) issue with it is that if I want to lay down on my bed, I would need to set my bed to be my floor, which would make me squat all the time when I don't need to lay in bed.
I LOVE this! Thank you so much for developing this! I am excited to use it! One of the first things I'm going to do is cover up with a blanket while cuddling in the movie world and watching a movie with my boyfriend :) Now I can stay warm and keep my tracking! You are amazing! Keep up the AMAZING work!!
Wow, this delivered so hard for the mixed vr crowd. I've been testing by programmatically disabling trackers randomly and the fallback to interpolated trackers is seamless. By that I mean where I would usually notice when something goes wrong, Standable is so fast and smoothly returns control to the device that unless I have the menu open to see the tracking models change color on disconnect I might not catch it visually. Impressive work!
For people who use mixed VR, like using a quest 2, 3, or pro. I had to reinstall the Standable, then start SteamVR first, then Steamlink. If you have index controllers, turn off your quest controllers prior. Which also means to turn off hand tracking.
I love the idea of standable, bought it and used it for a rather short time till I got proper trackers... and it's 1.0 mixed reality led me... mixed to say the least. But now with the sweet of features here it's just, so nice. I'd still plan to get at least a chest tracker... but after that I really don't need knees or elbows standables mixed has got me covered there and it's great!!
Started using this the day before yesterday and people have thought I have full body because I’m able to utilize this to make my movements look good lol
tryna save up just to get standable, 2.0 looks like an insane improvement and as a quest 3 user with no means of getting FBT standable is 100% worth it.
you should add like a preset option where you can save your different rotations and calibrations of the trackers to make things faster when switching avatars
HUGE QUESTION: If I sit and stand a lot (I mainly sit) can I reset floor height and also does standable work when sitting down, for instance in Vrchat if i want my body to be walking around while I'm sitting then switched to standable while sitting so I can actually be able to move my legs and lay down etc without having to use gogo loco and be locked into one spot, which makes me nauseous since it doesn't follow the movements of my body. When I'm laying down and not walking (while sitting) it makes me super nauseous because nothing flows with my actual body. And, when sitting back do my legs at least move a little and follow along with my feet, like if im laying back with the poses and move my feet a little, or cross a leg over knee or something? Just a little natural movements when laying down to feel more real
the fact that you need trackers for the app to actually work and not try to put all the limbs in one spot and then lag the game so bad that the whole vr headest just turns off to protect itself
With depth alignment adjustment, it feels like I am getting it exactly where I want it but then to leave calibration I have to put my arms down to my sides resulting in loosing the adjustment. Everything ends up in the default position rather than the depth I had it at.
This is amazing! Looking a lot better than the demo from months ago, great work! Love the idea to have a few trackers and standable doing the rest. No pressure, but still wondering about the quest version of standable?
My best guess is that ur floor height on Standable isn’t accurate . I’m not sure how to fix it tho my best suggestion is to keep trying to reset it until it possibly works lol.
Could you put the current offsets set in the menu somewhere so we can calibrate once, go look what the offsets are and then copy them in to the defaults? Or even better, a set current offset as default button?
I dont understand. i was trying to set this up, and suddenly my Quest3 is launching steamVR, not steam link, and I can't do anything in steam VR. it wont let me open other aps, wont let me open standable, wont let me do ANYTHING, and it's glitchy AF. I've restarted my device several times and it isn't working.
1 thing i would love to see with standable is height calibration it doesn't seem to like where i put my floor it keeps my "feet" up in the air and it is a real struggle anyways love the software so far can't wait to see the next update
@@John--117 The floor calibration and height calibration are two separate systems. First you must set the floor height then recalibrate by holding a t-pose till you hear the click. This will properly set your height. If you still are having issues, feel free to join the discord and we’ll be able to help further: discord.gg/WvfJAp7A2d
having a specific issue where my body goes into a weird position when my hip loses tracking when I sit on my couch. the only temp fix is calibrating the floor as my couch. it's a great software but this is annoying
Heads up for anyone with slimevr thinking about getting this, don't. It completely kills your skeleton in the app as they're incompatible. I found this out after buying it for a friend that has slime. Also lowkey annoying that can't do a T-pose for fun without entering the calibration mode accidentally. If you already have trackers, you'll basically only see the difference in your elbow tracking, nothing else. Only get this if you have no trackers at all or if the fallback would matter due to short battery time, not worth for mixed tracking imo.
So if I understand correctly a good way to combine this with quest 3 upper body tracking through virtual desktop is to set the feet and knees (and possibly hips) to estimation override so the IK estimation from virtual desktop is ignored for those and standables better poses are used for lower body, but disable upper body in standable so you can get the real tracking from quest 3 through virtual desktop emulated trackers. Right?
@@standable great thanks. really nice project. does standable add any amount of network latency when using airlink? I am aware you're working out a wrinkle with virtual desktop but it seems that I get crazy network spikes when using standable, without standable I can do the full 200 h265 with no issues, with standable I get stuttering but the cinch is if I lower my bitrate to 50mbps it's smooth again. If it's related I hope it helps you resolve the issue, I've paid for the app and don't intend to refund it so I hope this gets worked out sometime in future! I can't really switch to oculus link because I want to use the emulated vive trackers sadly. thx!
@@SLEEPYDOGINUStandable “shouldn’t” be causing any noticeable network latency though a few have mentioned issues. I’ll look on my end to see if it’s something to do with the program itself. If i find a solution I’ll make sure to have it part of the next patch 👍
@@standable yeah I figured it shouldn't too, but maybe some conflict in the way VD handles tracking data i dunno. fwiw I have a 6E router on it's way tomorrow which will become my dedicated AP for my quest 3. floor height completely broken, going afk and coming back also breaks floor height and we have to restart everything. foot and elbow trackers are usually broken, moves looks too weird
Great tutorial and showdown of the app, but I want to know how if it can work with Quest 3 and the upper body tracking, just now I need to start Virtual Desktop and then start steam to get it to work and the functionality of that is not so good, like I can only use my elbows on the side, but if I try to put my hand on the elbow or pot my elbows together it do not work at all, so I just look for any other app that can use Quest 3 body tracking directly in SteamVR.
