Ok guys, I had the absolute best idea of all time: Displaying your blood alcohol level on your avatar. Heartrate? Who cares. I want to see whos as fucked up as I am. LMFAO I'm not even sure myself if this is sarcasm at this point, cuz I find the idea actually hilarious. I quickly googled devices and there seems to be some wearable device for continuous measurement, but it's way to expensive for a funny gimmick :( I'd do it if it was just 20 bucks, but 350 is not worth it for me. Maybe one day when they get cheap.
Honestly, a very vocal wish I have is streamvr intergration, sadly only being able to use fullbody in VRchat through OSC is a big bummer, especially for an alternative computer user.
Ooh, I hadn't considered some of these integrations. Say, I have lights connected to my computer; I could make a "poke my chest while AFK to give an out-of-headset alert", for fun. I'd just need to hook into the existing contacts/OSC data for Haptic Pancake… And 🧡 for the Linux consideration - VRCOSC is at least .NET, maybe there will be a port in the future.
i literally only use my freakish amount of smart phones as FBT trackers just to T-bag some people if theyre being annoying. i just duct tape the phones to my legs, taking them off later hurts BAD
i would love to see a tutorial on how you made your haptic osc as i have slimevr trackers which also got build in haptics that currently dont work other then when i turn my trackers on
SlimeVR can run on the headset. It's a bit of a pain to do Wi-Fi assignment for the first time on the headset itself, but technically possible and okay from there!
Here to correct you again my friend the most powerful feature is actually the amount of bones in the tail of the average furry istg my nasa super computer starts to slow down when a furry enters the server
Hopefully you mention that Resonite now also has OSC support. Or are you making this for us since some of us have no idea what OSC is, or ever messed with it.
Sending OSC Data to quest shouldn’t be too hard. I managed to run a custom script that sent OSC Data from my pc to quest with ease, no errors (other than my shitty python skills). If you have the skills to write custom OSC programs, it works really well for both standalone and PCVR.
Super useful for me. I do npc stuff for RP ALOT. Basicly the dm has their own channel that all the npc players gather in so they can be directed for the sesh. The most annoying thing is haveing to pop into the actual discord window to turn my mic on to ask a question. this would be super useful so i wouldnt break immersion
The vast majority of players are on Windows. However, I feel the pain of players trying to make Linux work. If Valve ends up making a standalone headset, Linux support might be very necessary…
VRCOSC dev here. I don't plan on adding Linux support because the majority of official modules and file storage is designed around Windows integration. Given that VRChat is a Windows game (for non-mobile platforms), it makes the most sense to only support Windows. If the app were a console app that just ran certain pieces of code I would agree that Linux support would make sense, but since it's a desktop app it makes it a lot harder to do something cross-platform that also doesn't make it harder to maintain or take up a ton of resources for the people that don't have good computers. Also, with V2 allowing users to install custom modules from GitHub, I'm sure module devs don't want to have to write 2 versions of their module depending on if the app is on Windows or Linux, and having to deal with the debugging that goes along with that by having a Linux environment.
"Even those annoying now playing boxes“
Oh no not those
Just don't have them running 24/7!
dont see what your problem with them is. All I see is people starting fights for no reason.

Any time! Was nice to meet you at the vket meetup.
Note that Resonite added this recently too, so you should be able to use the same tools in Resonite with similar programming.
Totally! OSC in Resonite seems to be a bit of a different beast, but it’s awesome there’s potential to re-use OSC apps

Is it possible to add controller's battery level onto a model like a health bar of some sort?
Does it work on quest?
I have made a button on my avatar. Its supposed to send out a message to my ipad.
It sends it on pc but not on quest.
i have a question, i have a python script that i made that tracks your fullbody if i were able to could i send the data to osc and have fake fbt?

VRC works on Linux though Proton and VRCOSC might actually work via Wine.
Hi

bullshit, why mention it then?
jokes aside, sad to see developers forget linux exists
