That was a drum lesson in syncopated polyrhythms mixed with linear fills... that kind of playing don't happen unless you play every day for 10 years! And even after 10 years still 99% of drummers could not do what he just did!
@@scrapflies I agree to a point... yet rhythmic Phrasing and melodic accenting is musically directional, where your point of "every stroke" is the practice of the rudiments which once part of the mastered vocabulary then allow you the rhythmic phrases to compliment and transition the melodies.
Love when the RUclips algorithms read my mind. Just what the Dr. ordered. Sasha Berliner Quintet...first time hearing them, won't be my last. They were tight!
Nice! You definitely have another fan! And of course the whole group is stellar, (couldn't help but think of Paul Chambers and many of the other greats when listening to your bassplayer as well!) great production, sound and video!
Wow! And that drummer!!
What a tight ensemble really a solid groove. Everybody 'got the memo'.
Whoa!! That was the best jazz I've heard in years. So tight, and melodic. Ultimately listenable. Really Excellent.

Forty years..😊
To reach his level, you must not only play every day, but play with intention on every stroke.

Wow - great ensemble. Love the drummer.
As a musician, I imagine that's as close as we can get to flying.
That was outrageous. All members sizzle in that one. In parts, I thought of Coltrane and Davis. Thanks
The drummer is so damn phenomenal.
7'40'': Jaleel Shaw = respect😉 MAGNIFIQUE👏👏👏👏
In the great tradition of COLTRANE, yes he is!!🎉🎉🎉

Your hieroglyphics capture everything. 🌸
Sure sounds like 7/4 converging to 4/4. Smoking.
Horrible rhythm section- it's like they were trying to 'out-stiff' each other
