Senri is on fire in this performance, yet she makes it look easy. Not even breaking a sweat. Definitely one of the best jazz drummers alive today.
What is in the water in Asia with all these phenomenal female drummer's, bass, guitar, horn brass keys... My gosh.... As an American I am honored they play western music and do it so well. Are there any American or European bands playing traditional Japanese or Chinese music. Ha ha. No. May be a good thing. But this group is amazing, all the players make me smile. One thing to have chops and another to groove and get into the pocket. They do.... amazing solo. really excellent.
How many American guitarists are playing made in Japan or China guitars? Those aren't traditional oriental instruments.
They’re raised from birth to be exceptional in every way. Also, learning a musical instrument at an early age has been scientifically proven to help a child’s brain to wire up better than a basic ABC education.
There seems to be Vitamin Power in the japanese water.
The drummer is the best wonderful Senri Kawaguchi (Jazz Blues Metal)
Actually… yes, I am a foreigner that is classically trained in Japanese shamisen. We do exist, more than you might think lol. Also most Western and Eastern string instruments have their origins from the oud and other guitar like instruments from Egypt and Turkey that travelled all over the world via the Silk Road. Most of them share some kind of common origin, the best part about music is that it’s art that transmits easily between different cultures.
That young drummer... so much talent and hard work!
Senri is the bandleader.
You know this is good when you see senri on the thumbnail
Chizuru is amazing and Senri is out of this world! Great song.
What a phenomenal band. Thank God Japan has always been there to keep jazz alive. Don't quote me on this but I think it may be the only country left where you can find a lot of young people interested in the genre.
Interestingly, Japanese vgm and it’s often jazz foundations (think about it, how else can you loop a tune and not get sick of it) has resulted in a whole young jazz fandom because of bands like clever Aussies ‘The Consouls’ who play vgm as jazz. Kids even love bossanova because the band streams their gigs live and fans choose the tunes. So the jazz has gone West to East and back again! The vgm hits the nostalgia for the kids and the live jazz is exciting to experience - even for we oldies who didn’t play the games. The music itself is good.
Literally 100s of 1000s of 20 year olds in music school in the US and millions all over the world.
I've been a Nashville musician for 40 years, and I must say that was fantastic!
Did you know Pig? Ever meet him?
@@adamchurvis1 I have worked with Pig Robbins, but not as much as other players because my brother is also a session piano player.
@@HomeOnTheRange My mother knew him when she was in the Nashville music and television scene. I knew all about him by the time I was ten living up North. She said he could hear two bars of the melody and immediately pick it up, ready to record.
Do you remember a music producer by the last name of MacDuff or MacDuffy, or something like that. His nickname was Duffy, and that's how I knew him.
He was an old man the last time I saw him around 1980 or so. He was desperately in love with my mother for decades until the day he died, but she didn't want him.
When my mother died, we found a box stuffed with dozens of his letters to her, some of them unopened from years past.
Nashville players are the best. They can play any genre better than most can play their own comfort zone. I used to catch some acts at The Station downtown. Many were session guys in town for recording and then some fun jamming together while everyone is in town. Amazing stuff. A few years ago I was in there sitting next to Brian Setzer of the Stray Cats. The band wanted Brian to get up and sit in with them. I urged him to get up and play and he told me, "These guys are too good". and didn't get up and play.
Thank you, ladies, for keeping jazz fusion alive, because not many in the states are.
Just before 2:00, anyone notice the sixteenth triplet flurry while barking the hi-hat thing the drummer did? It was just so beautifully played like warm butter dripping down on cinnamon toast. Such a strong, even, musical player she is. I just love the musical mind she has. her sense for knowing what is best for the song approach and her fiery drum fills and solos make her one of the most vibrant drummers on the scene today.
Senri Kawaguchi - she's the real deal!
Ouch! What a drum solo! Absolutely blazing by the end.
What a dream to see Senri and Juna together! Best in ladies jazz/funk music ever!!!
They are at best an second to third-rate American
High School Jazz band not original, simply put!!!
@@Randy-o3g You are clearly a bot. Go away.
Holy moly, the drummer is Amazing,.,. Well, they all are!! Superb, This was suggested, and thankyou RUclips for that"
The drum sound is magic!!!! Love it. She's also a beast.
These ladies are one of the best bands that I've in recent history. their musical knowledge is fantastic. I really want to see them in the U.S. !
I love all of those musicians...But Senri is EVERYTHING👏👏👏👏👏👏
Was that Senri ? Wow! She has always been impressive with her skills.
Yeah, man, I'm a huge fan of her!!
They are really good. They know how to play their instruments that's for sure.
Thanks RUclips for recommended this video. They are amazing.
Awesome funk music. These ladies are having so much fun. My new favorite touring Jazz band. This is the definition of a girl band. Cassiopea must be proud of their legacy. Juna S sounded great. Senri K is fantastic.
Wow, this is about my favorite piece. It showcases the "background" player's talents.
Ohhh Yeah! Sure glad the RUclips system brought this up for me - great music, ladies - Cheers from Seattle, USA! 🍻
The drummer Senri Kawaguchi plays in band Saki from Mary's Blood 😎🤘
they radiate so much pleasure in their music. so good to listen to.
I’ve just found out a good reason to love jazz, these ladies are incredible
I think we witnessed a year of rehearsals. That was flawless. WOW that was fun.
Wow. They just keep getting better. And Senri - what is there left to say? She is the most talented and accomplished drummer playing today.
I like Kanade Sato too, my favorite
best funky stuff I've heard in years... Senri has phenomenal feel and drive. Keep playing, ladies!
Unbelievable, all are great players. I’m enjoying watching them. Drums, bass, guitar. 🎸 first time hearing them, borders on great fusion
Senri let those drums know who's boss! Chizuru wailed on that PRS! They have complex arrangements but Harumo has fit in nicely.
Just love all these players, it makes me happy to see the emergence of their talent around the world. What beautiful minds!
Senri is such a beast on drums😮🥰
Baaad!!! These ladies are Awesome! So Talented. I wish you Much Success!!!!!!!
Well I'll have to say one thing these young women knocked it out of the park.
They’re exceptionally talented and attractive.❤❤❤ shoutout to the drummer ❤❤❤❤❤
Senri Kawaguchi since 6 old 😱💪😍👍🥁✨✨✨
Nice! Funky and exciting, love the drumming!
That was HOT! This is something I don't think we would find this sort of group in America, an eight-piece, all-female, jazz band! Great job ladies.
Wow that guitarist used that ionian mode in jazz fusion so happy I felt the joy.The whole band is awesome.
this was simply GREAT!
thanks for sharing!!!!!!
No trumpets, no trombones, yet you hear them 😮 this is just amazing !!
Actually those are saxophones.
Exactly, exciting brass instruments e.g.trumpet I heard - could it be coming from the keyboard ??
@@JohnSanborn-y2nthere is just one soprano saxophone - I can't believe it can sound like a few trumpets 😅
Really nice ladies, the horn section rocks. Drums, Juna with bass, love it. All group members create a dynamic sound. Keep doing it. From USA California.
THIS IS 100% THE BEST JAZZ EVER EVER EVER !!!!!!!
Speechless. This, people in the West is what hard work from a very young age can achieve. And that drummer? Probably the greatest drummer alive today....She's inherited Gadd and tons more.
A Tachibana High school marching band video came up on my RUclips feed once. My God! Have you seen any of their videos? Explains everything.
That was absolutely amazing. Loved it.
What a beautiful band in every sense
Holy shit, that's tight! Jazz Avengers go hard!
This is awesome 👍. These girls can jam.
They are Great, I love it, each of them is a virtuoso on their instrument
Wow! These beautiful women rock! Turn up the bass on her solo.
Técnica virtuosismo y sentimiento !!! Excelente espectacular banda !!! Made in Japan !!!
This is so good. Very good recording all around. The sound is great and the editing/cinematography is on a high level. Sometimes looking at it reminds of the famous Talking Heads movie 'Stop Making Sense'. These recordings are a historical document. I keep watching it over and over. Congratulations. I look forward to seeing the rest of the concert footage. Thank you once again, your fan from San Francisco, California USA.
Absolutely Awesome. I'm in awe!!! Very intalented 👏🏿 👌 👍 🙌 ❤️
It’s called ‘work ethic’. Something we don’t instill in enough of our young.
OMG!!!! These ladies are brilliant..
Black American Freedmen created Music touches and influences all ends of the globe!
Bjs a todas.
Magnificent. All put together. The speed stimulates the listener's interest.
The girls are good-looking and quite competent.
Where's the hidden Duracell battery pack for the drummer? Unbelievable power!
Superb.
A Language that knows no Borders…
Ladies, I’m a Fan ♥️♥️
Nothing but love for this band! ❤🥰❤
Senri!!!!! She looks like she weighs less than 70 lbs soaking wet. But when she plays it sounds like a rubber band Yeti bangin on the skins. Love the tone on the guitar. So many great jazz guitarist's have a tone that sounds like it's inside a shoe box, locked inside of a suitcase, and 2 blocks away. All the smiles the players have are infectious to us the smiling audience watching and listening in awe. Well done Ladies!!!
On fire!
FC Juna Serita , Good sound😍😍😍
Fantastic ladies, on fire all of you
Dear Japan, where do you keep hiding these musical gems. First time hearing the Jazz Avengers, I will be looking for more❤️.
In fact they are pretty well known globally. Not hidden by any standard.
Oh really?? Never heard of them B4. Only know CASIOPEA. LOL
@@barcaewok7229 Sorry man, just discovering a lot of music for first time lately. No need for the tone.
@@barcaewok7229 The are a kind of supergroup where all the members were already known in their own right, Juna on Bass was in Tokyo Groove Jyoshi.
Senri the drummer (its her band) was already one of the worlds best drummers in her teens
@@ant2312 tqvm. It's amazing to learn n know more n more solid players ya. Thanks alot
