i love how the symbiote is actually a direct reflection of repressed thoughts of their subconcious mind. It in a way makes them let those supressed feelings out. Its like id taking control. And people like mj or peter are the ones that are mostly led by their super ego, responsability and duty, while their id, their more primal and natural feelings are often suppressed, which leads them to have less control over it. Only when they made a bridge between their id and super ego, which is a genuine care of their interest (in mj's and peters case, their compassion) and will, they could get rid of the symbiote.
Mj's face is so angular, manly jaw and has a huge nose, intentionally making her extra caricatural in her face's features it's very funny.

Let's also not forget how much trauma the symbiote causes for Peter afterwards. While under the symbiote's influence, he pushed away his friends and repeatedly did things that went against his entire philosophy of being Spider Man. He's coping with the fact that he failed to save Aunt May and Harry could also die and nearly killed Miles. And now, the symbiote's fully taken over his best friend, who's now causing mass destruction throughout the whole city. So by the time the fight against Scream hits, Peter can't even quip or fight back when Scream tries to psychologically torture him by using words it thinks MJ would say to him. He's at his lowest emotional point now and he just wants this whole mess to be over. All he can do is apologize over and over because after everything that's happened Peter is beginning to think that everything really could be his fault.
Peter really took the worst asswhooping both physically and emotionally.

I'd never thought seeing MJ as a symboite would be involved in this game, but this is one of the best scenes to a Spider-Man game.
The only thing I hate about this game is what they did to the voice actors and their faces. Mj looks soo much better in the first Spiderman, and it fits her. Same with Peter, he looks terrible now compared to the first game, which made him look way more authentic than this tom holland knock off.

This was a great fight, and awesome to see Scream. Especially loved how Peter and ScreaMJ worked together in the end, to get the symbiote off.

I actually wonder what type of pain do the symbiotes and their hosts feel when exposed to sonic vibrations or loud sounds. Does it feel like burning, pinching, stinging, breaking, bleeding?
Don’t know much but from reading a few comics and seeing some shit in cartoons or movies, my guess it’s like being paralyzed when it gets too tough to handle, that and the having the symbiote probably trying to tear itself out from you to get away from whatever the loud sound is

"Scream" is a subtle reference to what MJ was doing in the majority of the Raimi Spider-man movies.

I love this boss fight it's definitely in my top 3. This boss has meaning to it because MJ getting corrupted by the Symbiote and turning into Scream. Along with that the voice actors were going STUPID in this boss fight. So much emotion and the music fit pretty well.
And it also serves a great narrative to their couples therapy.
The dialogue was atrocious tho
@@doomguydemonkiller Nah, I absolutely loved the dialogue in that whole boss fight. Hearing Peter screaming at MJ to fight against the symbiote. Along with hearing MJ screaming back at Peter with pure hatred of always being there for him but she gets nothing back in return. That's the main reason why I love this whole boss because it's not just the gameplay that makes me feel emersed into the boss fight it's the dialogue and passion that you see the characters have during the fight. For example Raiden VS Armstrong in MGRR, Dante VS Vergil in Dmc3 and 5, Asura VS Chakravartin in Asura's Wrath, and Kratos VS Zeus in God of War 3. But that's just my opinion.

The symbiote would be a good therapist coz it's good at making people confront their issues,mj and Peter had a lot of issues that were built up at the beginning and only got worse as they both ignored it. Miles has problems as well but he was able to move on in a different way

This whole fight was just couples/regular therapy. That is and isn't a joke. This fight made Peter realize he hadn't been treating Mary Jane as well as he should have and had taken her for granted. Meanwhile Mary Jane realized she had been trying to be someone she's not and it wasn't making her happy, which is why she began her own podcast at the end

This was the most unexpected thing for me to come out of this game and i fucking loved every second of it.
This game does pretty much everything Spider-Man 3 movie does but better. Evil Harry, venom symbiotes from space, mj resenting Peter. Her book is just like her play in that movie. Except they actually have the characters resolve their resentments while also having an awesome action scene instead of just having mj be captured and rescued and just sweeping all the resentments under the rug.
It’s the Ultimate Spiderman episode with the symbiotes but better.

Half of this game's side activities also have nothing to do with being spiderman it's all riding bikes, playing as other characters with no powers, using some stupid drone to chase around birds, it's like they went out of their way to make this game have as little spiderman in it as possible.

Imagine if either in a DLC Expansion or in the third game that MJ still has the symbiote within her body and she decides to speak to Dr. Connors to run some tests with her, turning the symbiote as her own as she becomes the Ultimate Spiderwoman, just like in the Ultimate show.
Hope not because that part of the Ultimate show was the worst and that show was bad in general. It was just another example of Disney Marvel Spider-Man not being able to write Peter’s side characters without turning them into superheroes

It wouldn’t have worked. The symbiotes in this tap into everyone’s negative emotions. The only reason Peter was able to control the piece of Venom left inside him (which is Anti-Venom) was because Martin Li was able to transfer his power into Pete, and transform the symbiote.
I love how nearly every play-through of this game I've seen has Peter using the No Way Home hybrid suit. It just fits so well.

or at least, 100% written by someone claiming to "know what women think".
I've seen a lot of comments here saying this was amazing, but I found it cringey as all hell. This whole sequence was garbage. I'm not sure whats worse, Spiderman crying the whole time and apologizing for being a superhero, or mary Jane throwing out every female stereotype out there.
Its like, no one forced her to be with that guy. He's doing everything he can to protect the world, if she doesn't want to be a part of that world, she can get the f out. The boss battle should've just amounted to "THIS, IS MY TIME, PETER!!!!!"
And him going "I don't know what you've done to Mary Jane, but I'm going to STOP YOU! LET HER GO!" And then just fight.
No bitchy comments from either side, just pure, desperate combat.
Thhis gith makes Mary Jane look like a Whiny, selfish woman. And makes peter sound like a b*tch. They're a team, it didn't have to be any deeper than that.

@@HenryLouis21 The in-game model looks closer to the writer than the original model from the 1st game. The character is a Mary Sue in the game. The character often behaves like they are in a grounded relationship rather than being in a Spider-Man story.

Also, a lot of the characters in the second game had updated models and the face mode they used for MJ is the same as in the first game. Also, MJ in the second game looks nothing like the writer of this. Also, do you not know any Spider-Man story? Because those who have read the comics knows that a lot of Spider-Man stories are usually focused on the relationships and Peter trying to maintain those relationships especially with MJ. Because these stories at the end of the day are stories about Peter just living with everyday problems like everyone else has.

Mary Sue is a character in a parody about self insert fan fiction of Star Trek. Mary Sue is similar to the writer and for no reason is in the center of the story and better than all the established characters.

The model in the 2nd game clearly strays away further from the original model and more towards the writer. This is in hair color, skin color, lip color, face shape, complexion, and teeth(which really has to be a suspicious detail that has been changed to look like the writer's teeth). If you are human and you have eyes you should be able to intuitively tell how the face has changed.

In the comics, Peter had difficulty maintaining a relationship with Gwen not MJ. Also, none of that is an excuse for the fictional world's problems to revolve around Peter's romantic interest. Why would he even wear a mask at that point?

Her boss fight dialogue style is used in my school vr game for the Detainter Claw Enraged Goalius boss fight as Lucifer Morningstar from Hazbin hotel and I started crying from it (hell 1 of the biggest moments of the fight was the fate of Goalius father named Magnus which he stated that his current right hand man, Exodus who is a game only character. Is the guy who killed him, and the worst part of it is that Magnus is a Reformer, who are people who change overs lives) and the aftermath was shocking where Exodus arrived but Lucifer Morningstar ordered him to comfirm what he said before heavily damaging Exodus and threatened him to never destroy the idea of Redemption.

Cuz Spider-Man is nerfed very badly in this game and was not allowed to move when mj gets captured, in Spider-Man 1 game he had 14 broken bones and manages to walk it off and beats all the sinister six in 5 days Peter is 25 years old and got nerfed very badly

This and the Venom fight were massive sucker punches. Yuri sold those scenes perfectly. The sorrow and anguish in Peter's voice as the fights went on was heartwrenching.
I ain't gonna lie, MJ as Scream is kinda hot.
I thought MJ was going to stay as Scream for at least two chapters but I find it scary when venom did that.

This is the best boss in the game. Scream as mj make so much sense and work’s better than mj being carnage not that it was bad I loved ultimate spider man and that mj is probably my favorite beside insomniac which is the best most healthy mj we seen relationship wise the way scream is a reflection of mj inner demons and pushes Peter down breaking him mentally is done perfectly the design for scream is the best we seen her she lasted perfectly and not overdone and I hope silence is a playable character next game or dlc so we can get the symbiote powers again and because mj and silence characters are good

Turning MJ into Scream was a BRILLIANT idea from Insomniac. And this whole couples therapy thing was cute but at the same time I think it's also... wasted potential? Like, the whole symbiote invasion thing in the 3rd act is at the very least worth a whole separate game and the things they could've done... MJ as Scream, there was so much space for Riot, Lasher, Agony, Toxin, others... and have Peter team up with Miles and others [Black Cat? Wraith? Mr Li?] to take on Harry/Venom and at the same time race against the clock so MJ won't be consumed by the Symbiote completely. So much potential wasted, just like that.
Honestly most of the Venom hord are these symbiotes.

The purple symbiotes= Agony
The Yellow Symbiotes= Phage
The Green Symbiotes= Lasher
I kinda agree with what the other guy’s saying. Most of the other symbiotes you fight on the streets kinda look like phage, agony, lasher and riot as is. Now it would be a cool twist if they introduced Eddie Brock and instead of making him Venom, they made him Toxin. Maybe in DLC, who knows? But if we do get DLC, I hope Carnage is the main villain.
Scream and anti venom where definitely not what i expected… fighting MJ reminded me of having to fight black cat when the symbiote took her over in web of shadows
