  • Townhouse, the general definition of a townhouse is “a tall, narrow traditional terraced house, generally having three or more floors.” Although this build doesn’t fit that description perfectly, the word narrow is very accurate.
    A little context for the section. It’s at the back of two existing properties with narrow driveways on either side. The site had soft soil so in order to build, we had to drive wooden piles down into the earth.

    7 months seems very quick. I first contacted the building company about the new place I wanted to build in May 2019. It took the rest of the year to finalize all the plans. They started building on Feb 2020. Didn't move in until January of this year. There were a lot of hold ups

      Sounds full on, In general I say to allow 6 months for the concept planning quote stage and then 6 - 7 months for a standard build :)

    Hi. Im wanting to know the rules around boundaries. How close can u build to a boundary? And a driveway to an existing house. Any help be appreciated.

      Hey talk to the building and planning team at your local council, they are usually pretty helpful at explaining your local rules :)
