@@mobiditch6848 Grew up in Newport and surfed there all the time. There were definitely guys that considered themselves locals that surfed there. You're probably right though haven't surfed there for a long time.

Looking out to the massively crowded lineup @ lowers, Kalani Rob perfectly states "The opposite of Uppers is not lowers, its Downers!"
@@trevlahey no dude. lowers has 20 thousand people out when it's good, which is often, it's a cobble reef, there are three places you might have a chance of getting a waves, inside lefts, the main spot outside right there with pros and soon to be pros, or the swing wide which only comes sometimes. all the people sitting just inside the main take off get jack unless someone falls, or whatever. it can be torturous.

Pretty far away. This was shot with a Sony A7iii in 4K with a 200-600mm lens. I shot in APAC mode so at 600mm it’s 900mm.

Totally agree. At least Tudor has his own style (seen @ 1:20). Everyone else just has the typical hyper-aggressive cutbacks over and over but I guess to each their own

Why are so many people wearing full body wet suits. Back in the day (the sixties!), we couldn’t wait to shed the wet suits. Maybe a jacket on a cold day, but never full body in July!
Wetsuits have come a long way. Keeps you out longer and lot of people prefer surfing in them.

@@stevenhusmann3816 IB , home of the sludge. It will break any board into bits with a 3 foot wave ( I've had it happen to me , with almost MY nose nearly squashed ). What I would like to see is a "Qualified Handler" on a 12 - 14 foot Skip Frye 4 fin doing something different. There was a guy surfing on the Northside of the pier one day that was doing EXACTLY THAT ! And please - I mean NO disrespect to anyone and what they do on a wave , anywhere in this world , because I am now very disabled from 50 years of surfing , and surfing , ...! I miss it dearly, and I completely realize what a blessing and privilege it is to be part of "surfing". Aloha , hubby not Lydia.
At least every wave didn't end in an air reverse attempt. I was impressed with the level of surfing this day.
