Thrift Store Find: AMD Phenom for $5 (What should I do with it?)

During the pandemic thrift store finds have gotten worse and worse, but thanksgiving offers a glimmer of hope as America dumps off their junk en masse. In this run I found an AMD Phenom for $5 and with PC prices rising, I decided to ask. How much PC can you get for just $5?

Those activated cores were hit or miss - usually the first revisions were better. For instance first revisions of 960T (4C) could be unlocked to 6 cores. P. S. And yes I was going to mention that piece of junk PSU :) Of course it needs to be replaced. Those internals you got there are not half bad - the only concern is power consumption for the performance. Definitely the performance per watt is poor.

5:56 My first thought is 'Oh $hit this dude knows how to operate a computer efficiently, upvote this man'. IMO anyone who uses the right ctrl and right alt keys should be intensively paid attention to because they might know how to think for themselves. Congrats, you might know how to think for yourself, 99.99% of humanity does not.
