It looks like it has stupid amounts of grip, better turning radius/tighter angle, and it seems the diff kicks pretty instant unlike the vlsd in older Z’s. 350s and 370s will do half a turn before kicking the rear. This thing rotates around, lifts the nose and takes off like an old C6 Vette.

I wonder what diff it is using! I was looking at some pictures of the underside of the car and it seems to be different from the 370z diff. It looked like it had a few more fins, possibly for extra cooling. Maybe an electronic diff? It almost looks like a welded diff in this video, excited to find out more info!
I’ve read 2 different thing, one article says 400Z gets mechanical LSD, another, which was from a forum I think, said base models get open diff with optional VLSD and sport/Nismo gets mechanical LSD. I sure hope all get mechanical LSD, before my G37 Journey sedan I had a 05 CTS with real LSD, my G37 is way faster and more powerful, but that is one thing the Caddy has on it, the Sigma chassis is amazing anyway and with LSD it was more planted and solid feeling, I was much more confident in curves. Not that the G isn’t great in curves, but LSD would really help it, especially when powering out.

It would beat older V6 Mustangs and Camaros and surprisingly beat a Lexus 4.0 V8, the Sigma chassis was the start of the really good handling chassis from GM, evolved to Sigma 2, Zeta and now Alpha that ATS/CTS, Camaro, G8/SS all used different versions of.
I have to say I really like the 400Z and it looks like it has potential to be badass with the aftermarket, body kits spoilers etc, and I think it will be great competition for the Supra, which I like too, but I like it a lot more that Nissan actually built the 400Z, what if it was a Benz underneath, lol the it would be BMW vs Benz instead or Toyota vs Nissan.
Who cares who makes the cars though? Supra is a BMW? Without it we wouldn't have a Supra at all. In an era where sports cars are a dying breed I think we got one of the best balanced sports cars ever made at a Toyota price point. I'm hyped either way.

If the 400Z MSRPs at the price point it's supposed to (~$35k at the lowest,) there's absolutely zero reason, objectively, as to why anyone would go for a Supra over it.

It’s the death of the Z, or a rebirth. What Toyota and Lexus has coming has already changed automotive design across the industry forever.

bro what are you on? 370z comes straight off the lot with a 3.7L motor 330bhp stock. These motors come twin turbo 3.0L 400bhp. you could drop in any turbo and make more hp with a quick tune, and a thicker block that can take more boost regardless. if you dont think thats a perfomance boost, then go simp over GMC or Dodge

That paint color is beautiful. They grey wheels along with the red brake calipers is icing on the cake. I like the proportions but I just don’t like the rear end. It’s as if the rear end doesn’t match the rest of the car. I will have to see it in person to make a final judgement.
It’s still the same Z platform of the last 20 years with a facelift. They dropped in an old, but good, engine. They added headlights that pay homage to the S30 and tails that nod to the Z32. This isn’t the “new Z” per say, it’s more of a send off/swan song to the Z, which is now officially dead.
Check out the new Lexus and Toyota lineup. It’ll explain everything about the Supra. Toyota had the body work, but all of the guts are 100 years ahead of any other automaker. They didn’t have any engines lying around like Nissan. Toyota put their shell on a BMW, because they had already made the move to all electric.

My best guess is clutch type diff

550HP maybe on a full bolt on with E85 tune. Not on 93 pump. You'll be around 475-500WHP on 93 pump assuming every bolt on imaginable.
