  • How to experience God, confession, faith, fear, freedom, our true identity, and cruciform, others-focused, self-emptying, unconditional love barely scratches the surface of this packed conversation on the goodness of God. Jamie and Donna Winship share how we can discover our true identity through a relationship with God and each other. QUOTES
“So, we lose the great commandment and pick up the great commission, we’re exchanging love for conflict.” Jamie
“Most people aren’t even aware that they are living separate from who they really are.” Donna
“Your true identity is the essence of who you are at your core and it’s something to be discovered through your lifetime and worked out in relationship. You cannot set apart your identity from relationship with God and relationship with other people.” Donna
“I think it’s important to note that your identity is not your gender, not your sexual preference, not your job, not your political party, not your religion…” Donna
“You can study business ethics all day long but if you’re in a scarcity model its always gonna come up to not enough.” Jamie
“You’re in a world that’s every day says “there’s not enough.” It’s the lie that we live in. But there is an alternative world view.” Jamie
“You can’t intellectually have faith. Faith comes from experience and experiential relationship.” Donna
“All identities we discover about ourselves are identities of Jesus in one form or another.” Donna

This is so good! I was introduced to Jamie recently. I love this conversation! This is what I have been teaching for the last few years on the podcast I do for a radio station and also when I speak in churches. I am a retired substance abuse counselor and a person in recovery from addictions and trauma. This is so important that we have these discussions! Who did He knit you together to be when He created you in your mother's womb? One of my favorite questions I ask people.

I love that ladies understanding. I’ve always felt I was responding to God, he came to get me in the first place. To impress on my heart something that drew me. He even opened a college course in art to bring me to the girl who told me about “you need Jesus” in the Metal night club.

I love the Winship’s. I’ve purchased a couple of their products on their website and am working through the programs I purchased as well as listening to many interviews on RUclips. This interview is one of the best for me. It has so many good ways learning how to hear God. To letting go of your self protect and self promote ways of relating to others and God. God bless the Winship’s for listening and obeying God! You’re message is such a blessing!! Also thank you Jason!!

So why aren’t there more people like this here in the U.K. or any where else all this stuff seems to be an American phenomenon?

Can you explain what you mean by “The great commission is not in the bible?” I love the idea of being a witness not a prosletyser, it are you saying Matt 28:18-20 isn’t original text?

Hey, Margaret. I am going from memory here, but I think we were discussing it through the lens of love and identity. It's not that we haven't been commissioned, its that it doesn't look like proselytizing. The Winship's were missionaries but learned they weren't in foreign lands to teach western Christianity, they were there to be love.
That's a very broad answer as the conversation was some time ago.

I’m new to all this. It’s confusing, I’ve been marinated in charismatic church since 1988 as an 8 year old, Gen Xer metal head, art grad with Autism and Medical diagnosis of Gender Dysphoria.

I think I'm saved. This stuff sounds so hopeful to a drowning praying man. It looks like the last lifesaver to be coming... what happens when these prayers and methods are answered with silence? When the lifesaver sinks as you grab it?

    • @prayworthy
      @prayworthy Год назад

nevermind. I just answered my own question. No point worrying about anyone God is already done with. He is the decider. He will send a working lifesaver just in time... or He won't. If He lets you drown He will welcome you home and the mess left behind is ok because it was part of His plan.

@@JasonClarkIS-youtube Thanks Jason. I was backslidden and drinking when I was in such despair. I had a rough detox in a facility and now waiting on disability to come through so I can start a six month stint in a live in recovery and discipleship program at a Calvary Chapel a few hours away. This is God's answer to my cries. I'm on better footing now. thank you again for your prayers, I know they help.
