I upgraded from a Tacoma to a Tundra Crewmax. Two things Toyota should have done for Tundra is have storage under back seat and a power outlet like the Tacos. Now that will be complete and awsome!
The older Tundras had the storage under the seat. My 2015 2WD Double Cab with the 4.6 had it. My 2019 4WD Crew Max TRD Sport with the 5.7 does not. Not too sure why they did away with it.
I don't understand Toyota's obsession with chrome on their "off road" vehicles. Chrome belongs on the sporty vehicles. You'd want black, if anything, so you don't get pin stripe marks on the paint.
Just picked up the sport 2019 4x2 crew max. Went from 4x4 2018 4x4 bare bones double cab to the 19 sport. 18 was so bare bones that a skeleton had more meat on them bones and it was picked clean. Good work vehicle though.
@toyotajeff do they have a 8 foot bed Toyota Tacoma trd sport coming out for 2019 and 2020? Also have you guys got any pictures of how the new 2021 tundras will look like and it’s features?
Thank you for the review. It helped me better decide between the two. I ended up getting the TRD sport from my local dealer in California. Just one question Jeff, can metal fuel tank skid plates be added to the TRD sport.
me gustan las tundras me gusta el paquete trd off road sr5 crewmax y cuando escuche trd no me lo puedo sacar mi favorita es el paquete trd off road 1794 edicion limitada
@@InlandYakermax towing capacity is 10.2k with the 2wd double cab tundra. 4x4 double cab can tow 9.9k, crew max 2wd is 10.1k and crew max 4x4 is 9.8k towing capacity. So going with 4wd on either model you lose 300lbs towing capacity.
It’s lame Toyota insists on chrome on the off-road with the Tundra and Tacoma. I would say it’s fair atkeast 80% of people DO NOT WANT CHROME on an off-road model. They already have a Limited, 1794 and Platinum for people that want to be chromed out 💩
I personally don't like chrome and I rather go for the trd offroad. It's still offroad capable a d u save money for any unnecessary accessories that Toyota charges u!$!$!$
Maybe i missed where u said how the offroad had the rear locking differential and the sport doesnt,i went with the off road and i may be a yota man now,it just feels like a stong truck!
2 things first let toyota and any other brands you deal with know CHROME is NOT a plus for a large portion of your buyers neither is color matched bumpers. Second dont use the jackwagon you did this time in future vids. He couldnt even be bothered to have his facts right and know the vehicles. If I walked in to your dealership looking to buy a truck and he talked to me the way he did in the video and/or about the trucks the way he did in the video I would’ve been working with another rep or have left your lot altogether without a truck
I bought my 2018 sport new in 18 for 37k then tinted the front windows and got the bed liner done for an additional $600. In my opinion the sport is the best bang for buck in the tundra trims. The sway bars and shocks make a huge difference when compared to the off-road. Guys just have to be honest with themselves and realize that 98% of the time their trucks will be on pavement.
Read about the new 2020 Tundra TRD Pro colors.......wow! www.torquenews.com/6626/2020-toyota-tundra-trd-pro-color-choices-announced
I like the SR5 Crewmax TRD 4X4 Offroad Package with Cavalry Blue Color awesome!!!
I bought my 2018 SR5 TRD Off Road last July. It was hell of a Truck n I love it. The reason why I chose that one because I love off-roading.
No. Wish I have more money. But the SR5 TRD Off Road is good enough.
I choose the sport just not into Chrome anymore especially on a truck
Jason Robbind great choice
I will show you differences between the 2019 Tundra TRD Sport and 2019 Tundra TRD Off-Road. Your job is to write the one you choose! Jeff
These trucks are awesome but personally, I would take a Tacoma simply because it's a bit smaller
@@e5hw654s7 I'm going to be doing videos soon on how to choose between Tacoma and Tundra :)
Thank you so much I'll take the TRD Off-Road or the TRD PRO; of course the crewmax cabin!
TRD Sport for the win.
Thank you for taking the time to do the comparison. This was very helpful.

Oh yeah, I am watching from Gig Harbor, Washington State, out on the coast of Puget Sound. We are in the market for a Toyota.

When I heard TRD I couldn’t resist
Thank you Jeff!
Absolutely! Have to look out for my truck lovers!!!
Great video, very informative, thanks!
Great job Jeff - I appreciate you getting down on the ground and personal with the trucks!
Does this gen have rear lockers or crawl control like the tacomas?
awesome video yo
Whoa!! 38 gallon tank?! Color me interested
Both are winners.
Sorry, is the vehicle on the left a Tundra TRD Pro or is it a SR5 with a TRD Pro package?
Great video!👍👍👍👍👍😎
Hey excellent video right to the point.
The TRD Sport.
Sweet!!
Hi..Jeff how heavy are the tundras
@toyotajeff do they have a 8 foot bed Toyota Tacoma trd sport coming out for 2019 and 2020? Also have you guys got any pictures of how the new 2021 tundras will look like and it’s features?
Thanks for the video Jeff .. is the tundra redesign going to happen next year ? Also how far are you from Mooresville ?
SPORT. get rid of the blind spot and back up sensors
Thank you for the review. It helped me better decide between the two. I ended up getting the TRD sport from my local dealer in California.
Just one question Jeff, can metal fuel tank skid plates be added to the TRD sport.
Yup
you compared this to a hotel, but a better comparison is to a economy class airplane seat
Can you do a review for the new 2020 Toyota double cab TRD Pro vs Off Road?
I love Toyota’s. Just traded my Silverado in for tundra. No comparison. GM should just go out of business.
me gustan las tundras me gusta el paquete trd off road sr5 crewmax
y cuando escuche trd no me lo puedo sacar mi favorita es el paquete trd off road 1794 edicion limitada
Very good video! I wish you were my salesman. But I'm in upstate new york.
nick mamone I lived in Binghamton area for 4 years! That should count for something haha
no payload?
"A hotel doesn't have this much space.." - classic car salesman talk! lol
TRD SPORT IS WAY BETTER
Oh..thanks
TRD Sport for me.
they have fox suspension like Tacoma,
Do all models have the 10,200 lbs tow capacity?
Raf Vargas - Inland Yaker Kayak Fishing Actually Tundras have varying tow capacities based on trim levels

There is no rear locker in any of these models... FYI. In fact, not even the TRD PRO has a locker.
Are all tundras have 38 gallon fuel tank
26.4 is standard 38.0 is an upgrade

48,900 for the off road! I just bought a new 2019 sport Crewmax tundra with sprayed bed liner & Tint for 46k.... 🤔
markos r, I just bought the TRD Off Road “Limited” for $39,890.00. In NW Washington.
