    I love how old school and bulletproof this thing is! I just couldn’t justify 50k when you can get so much more modern tech for this price elsewhere.

    • @paintballer7171986
      @paintballer7171986 4 года назад +4

      Its cause with the other brands you pay for the tech but get poor quality trucks. With tundra you pay for a high quality truck but lack some of the best technology. I have a 2004 tundra and its still going strong.

    I can deal with the cheap plastics on the dash because I know that Toyota will survive any amount of hurricanes or anything else you throw at it and will outlast the competition, but there is one thing I can’t forgive is a plastic steering wheel that’s a big no no especially it’s the part of the car your hand are always in contact with. Hello Joe, I am back i was busy working. Ok I watched the video, The tundra is very nice pick up truck, Now this new TRD Pro model is not bad, It has good sound in acceleration, very comfortable inside, very spacious, good engine and looking good under the hood, but i think is not enough for to be the best off road truck. In the cargo area is big, but it should have a hard plastic protect and avoid the metal and paint damages, like wise the tail door also. I think it should have more options of technologies for a 4X4 and pay over $ 50,000. That's my opinion.. Thanks Joe.

      @@MiguelGonzalez-vj1gv you have to take into account that Ford produces around 800,000 F150's a year where there is around 100,000 or less Tundras produced. Resale value on F150's will be lower because going to the dealership looking for 3-4 year old F150 you have many more to choose from (pretty much every dealer has one on the lot) then Tundras. Like I said there is 8 F150's for every 1 Tundra. Its a Quantity vs. Demand. More Quantity to choose from less resale value.

    The only tundra worth buying is the doublecab with the 8 foot bed (which only comes in lower trims). Literally every other crew cab pickup for the price is just better, even the titan. The tundra is just too dated at this point. Hell even my 08 grand cherokee overland (which was a 41k msrp at the time) puts this to shame. My grand cherokee can tow just about as much as this can, is very offroad capable (it actually has front and rear lockers), and has a drastically nicer interior.
    Edit: this truck may have a bulletproof engine, but the rear diff/axle on them is known to violently die so

    • @STEALTH1USA
      @STEALTH1USA 2 года назад

      And how do those trucks you described do in reliability?

    • @james2042
      @james2042 2 года назад

      @@STEALTH1USA this comment is 3 years old, ignoring that, the money spent on fuel for the 5.7 tundras over the life of the vehicle will cost more than the repairs on the other ones down the road. You still have to maintain it meticulously in order to get the reliability people have in their head, I've seen plenty of tundras with problems due to lack of maintenance

    • @STEALTH1USA
      @STEALTH1USA 2 года назад

      @@james2042 Three years old and yet you replied. I live in south Texas, I won't be doing rock crawling, I could care less about having a trophy truck for a daily driver. Let's face it, most people use these trucks to haul their families and groceries. I do light towing, and from my experience all of these turbocharged trucks have crap MPG's under load.
      As for the maintenance it's a given, all vehicles need maintenance. Tundras still get better reliability than domestics. God forbid anyone buys a 4 cylinder Silverado. 🤣
      Ford is the best domestic brand, imo.

    • @james2042
      @james2042 2 года назад

      @@STEALTH1USA actually the tundra is the only truck with a standard turbocharged engine now. And even with its new turbo engine, or even the hybrid, the fuel economy is still so bad that over the course of 100k miles I can afford a whole new trans in a chevy or ford with the money saved over the lifetime. It's funny how you talk about how great the tundra is, but toyota tried to copy the F150 with the new gen and somehow fucked up the recipe so bad they made it worse than last gen
      Who needs rock crawling in a half ton, I'm not talking about that at all. Daily driving, towing/hauling, and dirt roads/light trails/snow. For daily driving the last gen tundra was god awful. Relative to other half tons: shit interior, rough suspension, very poor steering, loud, and of course awful mpg. For towing/hauling, the truck was great with the 8.1ft bed, but the most common sold was the 5.5ft. The 6 speed trans and rear diff were geared into the ground for low end torque and it relied on a 0.59:1 highway gear for efficiency. The tundra made a great work vehicle when spec'ed for work, but most were not bought for the purpose of working, most people buying work trucks either got vans, HD's or midsizes. And as for non paved surfaces and poor weather, the tundra doesn't even have a rear locker in most trims and the rear diff is huge so ground clearance was awful (that includes snow clearance).
      Also GM's volume engine is still the 5.3 V8, the 2.7 turbo is mainly for fleet customers that are avoiding registration fees in states that charge for extra cylinders above 4. It's not *really* meant for the consumer market
