Well Pentatonix claimed Christmas as their own so of course Voice Play had to choose another holiday 😂 (personally I like Halloween more even though it's a non existent holiday in my country 😉)

Right? So many times when I hear the VoicePlay version, I’m like “Oh THAT’S what they were singing!” 😂😂😂 VP’s diction is always so clear! Fabulous rendition of the MJ classic. Hard to beat or even match that original, but VP have - of course! - done a stunningly original take that has earned its place in Halloween music video history!
This is amazing. Voiceplay doing what they do best, spooky season. These are the things I thought when I was watching: • Layne kicking Kathy off screen (Top tier comedy, I also like Cesar's face) • Cesar does zombie hunger/hunting eyes a little too well. • The fear in Geoff's eyes with "they're out to get you" yes Geoff, yes we are lol • J.None's face when Geoff is grabbed is like "Really guys? I'm trying to sing here" • Geoff's levitation/rising after being infected. I felt those bone cracks because mine do the same when I get up. • Did you ever think about how people's bones are always wet? Yeah, that fact messed with my head when I first heard it. • Geoff's l'oreal style hair flip after the full transformation (hello male model) • J. None struggling with the emergency exit door had me screaming like that annoying person in a horror movie "JUST GRAB THE DAMN HANDLE, OPEN THE DOOR AND RUN DAMNIT!" •Yes, give us all the shoulder-ography. • J.None's got amazing moves (not surprised) • I love the steady heartbeat in the background • Oh, and the singing was good and stuff.
I loved Eli chewing Cesar out for wiping his gross hands on him and Cesar going like "Hey, not my fault Layne sneezed all over us like some kind of troglodyte!"🤣
I am a true and devoted Vincent Price devotee. I also remember when Thriller initially came out. It was revolutionary. Congratulations Guys, you did this song justice. Even with Geoff doing Vincent's piece I wasn't sure I would be able to accept this. I DID. You all did wonderful. But Geoff, Thank you for paying tribute to Vincent while doing this your way. THANK YOU.

The whole thing is perfection, but the delivery of the line "Your body starts to shiver" - with the vocal fry Geoff included - is just chef's-kiss, especially in earbuds, which are required, of course, to appreciate all the nuance of VP's magic.
I grew up believing that Vincent Price would forever be the only acceptable voice for monologue and laugh. 40 years later Geoff came along and said “hold my beer”. That was amazing, a delightful and mesmerizing tribute all around y’all! 👏 👏
When I was a kid, I had one of those tall beds with a massive space underneath it. Every night in october my brother and I would hide under there reading scary stories to eachother and we always listened to this song to wrap up. I LOVE this!
At the beginning of this song you think “holy shit”, then halfway through you think it again because some how it keeps getting better, and by the end of the song your brain has turned into a puddle attempting to comprehend the greatness.
I am thrilled. At this point I call VoicePlay an iconic classic or a classic icon too! The way they manage to take such a well-known and loved piece, reimagine it to make it all fresh and interesting again is just mind-blowing. You can only tackle a song like this if you have a masterful arranger and a couple of incredibly talented singers - which of course VoicePlay are! You are masters of your art. The Halloween Season has now OFFICIALLY begun. Eli's lighting and vocals really set the mood. Kathy actually gave me a jumpscare. The twitches and gradual changes were terrifying and brilliant. Layne's carrot made me pause the video as I laughed until I went into coughs. How can Cesar look terrifying and adorable at the same time? How??? Geoff's Vincent Price was perfect and literally gave me shivers. (No mere mortal can resist his voice.) J became MJ with those killer-thriller dance moves. I loved this so much! Origimagidiculous. The word VoicePlay created to describe their art. Original. Imaginative. Ridiculous. While this is nowhere near ridiculous (except for the fact that Geoff's evil laugh makes me giggle ), it is original and very imaginative. The VoicePlay magic is what we like to call it these days. Taking the original song and completely making it their own, while somehow still managing to honor the original. There are likely going to be a number of comments in line with "this is nothing like the original", but it must be recognized - it's not meant to be a copy of the original. Instead, what it is is one of a kind pure genius. I am honored to support these amazing singers (and arrangers) in their pursuit of bringing us the aural (and even visual) pleasure of their performance. ❤

OMG! I was so excited when I saw this was going to hapoen. The original MJ video was a masterpiece and Vincent Price's Voice is legendary. VP did not disappoint! And his voice did not disappoint on the Vincent Price passage. It embodied the creepy narration and gave an original tone to it. This is going to the top of my Halloween playlist!

The moment I saw the thumbnail on my feed I was like "OMG GEOFF DOING VINCENT PRICE'S VERSES!!" I was not disappointed in the slightest! His voice was perfect for this. And I love all the creativity in this video, the way they were progressively zombiefied was so cool! Awesome timing without breaking the performance. This was simply epic! As an MJ fan, I was thrilled to watch it!
I keep meaning to leave a comment here. I love this rendition of Thriller. This song is a long time favorite of mine since MJ, but I have to admit that I love your version more. The costumes were awesome and the gradual transformation was really creative. As always you all sound wonderful together. The harmonies, the solos and Geoff as the narrator is just spot on! Perfect match, even if your (Geoff) evil laugh at the end of the video was a little scary xD I'm all for it though. This was another masterpiece. If you are a fan of Nightmare before Christmas they did four songs from the movie, giving each of them their own individual flair. In addition Geoff did an absolutely spectacular version of Jack’s Lament last year. There is also a collection of videos from prior years for the spooky season, including several more on Geoff’s solo channel. His Monster Mash is a great deal of fun.
The video production is outstanding! Cheers to everyone involved, especially Rick and Renette with the makeup. Geoff did marvelous with the arrangement and direction! I just watched a video of many different people reacting to Geoff's voice range. That was entertaining in itself. 😆 First off I want to say every one of these guys and the guest singers they bring in are all amazing. Beautiful harmony. I love it. But that bass! 😳❤️ Geoff has the most beautiful, rich sounding quality I have ever heard in a bass singer. I don't think anyone has ever hit as deep of notes as he does. Not just deep sounds, but the smooth, melodic tones that comes from him. Every female I've watched listening to his amazing voice either brings chills or they have to remove a sweater, jacket or something. 😂 And the impossible range he sings. 😮 I love this man's voice. 🥰🌴

While this is nowhere near ridiculous (except for the fact that Geoff's evil laugh makes me giggle ), it is original and very imaginative.
The VoicePlay magic is what we like to call it these days. Taking the original song and completely making it their own, while somehow still managing to honor the original.
There are likely going to be a number of comments in line with "this is nothing like the original", but it must be recognized - it's not meant to be a copy of the original.
Instead, what it is is one of a kind pure genius. I am honored to support these amazing singers (and arrangers) in their pursuit of bringing us the aural (and even visual) pleasure of their performance. ❤

That was absolutely incredible! Geoff doing the Vincent Price solo was perfect! And the little tribute to Michael Jackson were awesome!

@@Justasykoseashell I have watched the BTS several times, and it still surprises me when she turns around and looks like that. The ghoul that got kicked across the room was not Kathy, however. That was Gruesome Greta , soon to be companion to Clara from Drunken Sailor. But she was too pretty even though she came from a Halloween store, so Rick ghouled her up. It was funny to watch him airbrushing a doll!

OMG! I was so excited when I saw this was going to hapoen. The original MJ video was a masterpiece and Vincent Price's Voice is legendary. VP did not disappoint! And his voice did not disappoint on the Vincent Price passage. It embodied the creepy narration and gave an original tone to it. This is going to the top of my Halloween playlist!

Ah. Voiceplay struck while the iron was hot. Be Prepared for the spine tingling Thriller. You never know who might be lurking in the dark, is it a Zombie or just Voiceplay singing out their hearts? This rendition definitely made my body shiver....it was just sooooo good. I love how you guys paid homage to the original while injecting your humor and vision into the mix. Thank you so much for everything you create.

It's a shame that we've lost these great creative vocal talents to the undead, but we are fortunate that their legacy remains.

I have been absolutely DYING for Voiceplay to do Thriller! OMG!!!
The moment I saw the thumbnail on my feed I was like "OMG GEOFF DOING VINCENT PRICE'S VERSES!!" I was not disappointed in the slightest! His voice was perfect for this. And I love all the creativity in this video, the way they were progressively zombiefied was so cool! Awesome timing without breaking the performance. This was simply epic! As an MJ fan, I was thrilled to watch it!
I keep meaning to leave a comment here. I love this rendition of Thriller. This song is a long time favorite of mine since MJ, but I have to admit that I love your version more. The costumes were awesome and the gradual transformation was really creative. As always you all sound wonderful together. The harmonies, the solos and Geoff as the narrator is just spot on! Perfect match, even if your (Geoff) evil laugh at the end of the video was a little scary xD I'm all for it though. This was another masterpiece. I had a blast talking to you guys in the premiere chat too, such dedication as well, to be here with us for the release of the video on youtube despite the mess hurricane Milton made. I just watched a video of many different people reacting to Geoff's voice range. That was entertaining in itself. 😆 First off I want to say every one of these guys and the guest singers they bring in are all amazing. Beautiful harmony. I love it.
But that bass! 😳❤️ Geoff has the most beautiful, rich sounding quality I have ever heard in a bass singer. I don't think anyone has ever hit as deep of notes as he does. Not just deep sounds, but the smooth, melodic tones that comes from him. Every female I've watched listening to his amazing voice either brings chills or they have to remove a sweater, jacket or something. 😂 And the impossible range he sings. 😮 I love this man's voice. 🥰🌴
