I sure hope i get approved. I spent my 450.00. I have a smal 6yr old construction company( didnt make much money the first few years) and Lowes claim I was preapproved for reimbursement only if im approved.

So if you haven't started your Buisness yet. How do they check your references and job site?
Your previous work history and/or the prime contractors references can be used as your references if you're the subcontractor.
So this is a THIRD PARTY organization that’s vetting applicants for the SBA?
I’m assuming because the SBA certification process is FREE
The SBA assist with the MBE as well however the MBE Certification is through the minority business development agency, not the SBA. SBA is only in charge of the 8(a) certification.

I have a business that I run from Home, and I’m registered with the SAM using my home address, but since mbe wants to visit on site, can I create a Virtual address? Does it make a conflict with the SAM?

for the MBE you will need to gain a office lease with your VO provider. for example: if you pay REGUS or WEWORK then you will need to sign up for a lease to show that this is your physical B&M. having a VO subscription wouldn't be enough for this certification.

For the site visit, if my business is a service provider, and I run my business out of my home, will they still need to visit my home? If so what are they looking for on the visit?

If you are start up, no. You will need to be in business at least two years they are not trying to give out certifications to just any old business like LLCs lol. Certifications is something you have to earn.

Then I advise waiting until you get the required documents needed for this opportunity. To best understand what each document is, reach out to the regional agent using the tools on their site. Before you get in contact with them; review the list of requirements and prepare a list of questions. Moreover; Use Google to assist you in understanding the process to get the documents needed. Make sure you state that you your Registered agent also if you use a virtual office you can rent a office for a day and show your subscription as proof of a valid location for your business

I have the same question, I run a small LLC business with an allocated space at my home as a home office. My business is registered this way with the government. So can business owners operating under home office also get certified?

Then discuss this unique situation with your regional officer. The regional officer will help you go through these steps to get the MBE certification. The first step is to reach out to the Regional officer

3:15 That is not true. Just because you are "from" a country outside of the USA does not make you a "minority". If you are White regardless of what country you were born in whether it be France, Australia, South Africa, Zimbabwe, or whatever other country you are not considered a "minority". If you are "from" a European country and are of exclusively European ancestry you are definitely not considered a minority. Also, most MBE-approving organizations recognize MENA (people of Middle Eastern or North African ancestry) people as "White".Please educate yourself and do some research before making such statements. Nationality ≠ Race or ethnicity. You can be of an ethnicity and be of any nationality.
