I won my first contract. After day 1 my contractors were like so will I be paid today or tomorrow? My bank account has 23$. In it at this time. Through the grace of God, My business credit has $ available to pay these people! Major lesson. Seek funds to pay people before you win. No contractor wants to wait 30 days to get paid! Especially if the work is weekly. Find some funds to pay the contracts ASAP!

Maybe I just had bad luck that I kept running into bad characters and I refused to step to the dark side. Not sure how she made so much without actual past performance within her company so quickly. Usually they will let you have very small contracts for a long time before giving you a large contract when your company just opened, but good for her. Many good companies have gone bankrupt chasing ghost RFPS.

I’m terms of subcontracting. And by that I mean, subbing out 100% of the work as a middleman / pass through…
My understanding is that, as long as the contract of for $150k or less, OR the business that you are subbing out the work to is similarly situated - meaning they’re a small, woman owned, or hub zone business - that you can sub out 100% regardless of dollar amount.
Please provide some clarification to this. Thank you very much.
