I won my first contract. After day 1 my contractors were like so will I be paid today or tomorrow? My bank account has 23$. In it at this time. Through the grace of God, My business credit has $ available to pay these people! Major lesson. Seek funds to pay people before you win. No contractor wants to wait 30 days to get paid! Especially if the work is weekly. Find some funds to pay the contracts ASAP!
Maybe I just had bad luck that I kept running into bad characters and I refused to step to the dark side. Not sure how she made so much without actual past performance within her company so quickly. Usually they will let you have very small contracts for a long time before giving you a large contract when your company just opened, but good for her. Many good companies have gone bankrupt chasing ghost RFPS.
Wow diversify your business, understand your business first, focus on your back office, don't put all of your eggs in one basket. Thank you great info!
I’m confused. What’s stopping the federal government from just directly reaching out to these companies to provide whatever service or products for them instead of going through a middle man?
Maybe more info on setting up back office, payroll, funding the subcontractors before receiving pay from the government. Contracting the subcontractors, etc. Thank you!
The information shared was practical and easy to understand. She played to her strengths, over time, built a team and stayed open to opportunities outside of her realm. This was such a great interview for players in the field whether novice or veterans. Thank-you!!!
Phenomial content Kizzy!!!!!!! I've made a couple of these mistakes myself. This month makes a year since our first bid. We are learning so much in the process. This is so encouraging. Thank you!!
Can you tell us more about how to set up the "back office" and all the things required for a successful back office. What exactly is a back office and whats its function when you get a contract?
Is commercial property management what she does? Just from the couple of services, she rang off. She's right in my line of professional work. I have over a decade of experience in Complete building services and I want to start to do govt contracts
Love this content! Could you make a video on the type of software or tools to help create those back office systems and processes for small businesses as she mentioned?
I finally received my Cage Code today. I received my UEI 2 weeks ago. Now I'm ready to work on setting up my back office while I sift the solicitations while I learn how to do a proposal the right way. So happy to be in this space now.
I’m terms of subcontracting. And by that I mean, subbing out 100% of the work as a middleman / pass through… My understanding is that, as long as the contract of for $150k or less, OR the business that you are subbing out the work to is similarly situated - meaning they’re a small, woman owned, or hub zone business - that you can sub out 100% regardless of dollar amount. Please provide some clarification to this. Thank you very much.
Kizzy thanks for sharing these facts! You are correct most people don’t even have $500 or let alone $1k in their bank account. We are super consumers and love credit! Super true most people in the USA are living a paycheck or two behind a paycheck! Appreciate you spitting out real facts.
Wow, what a powerful video. Knowledge is Power. Thank you both so much for sharing this powerful video and valuable information. I wish you both nothing but great success.

Love your content. I own a trucking company based out of NYC. Im starting to diversify my business investments. Quick question I want to buy a template of a bid proposal or content on how to write a bid proposal.
This was one of the best interviews on this subject I’ve seen in a long time. Thank you! Now, I’ll have to dig deeper into the nuggets provided. How to write your capability statement when just starting out in a different industry from your past experience?
If I have a trucking business LLC how am I able to bid on painting, construction, catering contracts, hvac etc…. also? Or am I only stuck bidding on transportation??
This was very insightful on so many levels. Reassured some of the uncertainties I have had for years but could not touch upon per see. Thank you very much for this content and all the best to K. Kidd.
Wow, I Loved this ENTIRE video. @KizzyParks thank you for uploading. This is exactly what I NEEDED. thanks KIM, will be reaching her for the webinar. I would LOVE to partner with her as a Sub-Prime.
Great interview queens. I really appreciate your valuable input from the inside. I’ve been thinking hard on government contracts for the past few years, but needed the experience of a property manager before I jump into the bidding process. I think I’m ready after hearing the lovely Kimberly Kidd. Amazing encouraging interviews ladies, thank you.
Good information you two but it's somewhat vague. You mentioned factor company we thinking as we listen please explain exactly what this is and they're basic functions etcetera thank you both I'm trying to climb out something negative into something more positive i can be proud of.yhank you
@KizzyParks How do you monitor/evaluate the quality of your contractors’ work, during the term of fulfillment? In other words, how do you ensure that your company’s reputation is advanced by the contractors you use?
I will be happy if I can make not even half of that. I have spent 30 years in experience and expertise but now life has changed. I need to get into this. Thank you for your information and sharing. God bless.
This was so very informative. Thank you, Ms. Kidd, for your transparency and nuggets of very substantive information. I currently work in commercial construction and am a partner in a newly formed commercial property investment group. Government contracting is another arm of business that I have been researching recently and your presentation provided such invaluable resources. It also helped me to see that I really already have many of the components to execute but hearing your journey further empowers me to get organized and focused on making things happen. I'd be most appreciative of any workshop or mentoring opportunities you and your team offer. Thank you so much!
Does the work to set everything up in regard to finding subcontractors, proposal, etc constitute your end of doing 51% or whatever it is of the work? Because I’m pretty sure in services like HVAC you have to actually do the work or some of it? Can someone help?
🖐🏾 Hey there, question! WHY did you (Kimberly) go from IT? Why not go after IT? Was there something about that market that didn't resonate? Is it a crowded market?
You’re so nice answering all of these people’s questions that they should research or pay for.. like they’re trying to big on Fed Contracts and don’t know what the FAR is… that’s wild! Lol. Great content!👏🏽
Do you create a proposal stating that your going to hire a subcontractor to complete the task or do you make it seem like your completing the task as a prime even through your subing it out if that make sense ?

Ive watched a handful of your videos and it seems most are titled with contract award amounts but never specifies what the person nets off these contracts. It doesnt matter if someone wins 100mil contract if they net zero. Is there an industry standard? 3%, 10%? Thanks for the videos.
Lol they make it sound so easy but it’s about your team u need cash flow to pay that company because the government not paying u right away so I know this lady got money plus u need a lawyer a accountant tell the people the real most people look ing at this video don’t have the cash flow needed this is a fact
