MINOR SPOILERS In a possible ending, I imagined Mishiro coming to consciousness, still submerged, unnaturally deep with-in the lake. She looks back, below her, her friends all still visible beyond the murky depths, waving at her from the mirror world. She waves goodbye, but soon realizes she is underwater and can't breathe. She hurriedly swims up to the surface, desperate to survive, and as her vision fades to black once, then twice, then a third time, then stays dark... the player hears swimming noises, perhaps panicked underwater mumbling. And just as the screen fades to black the fourth time, sounds of water being rapidly displaced, and gasps of air are heard. A voice yells out in astonished desperation, "MISHIRO!" It turns out to be her mothers voice. She jumps in the lake, feet first, carefully, and swims over to Mishiro. She helps her back to land, where paramedics are lounging around. They flinch at the sight of her, astonished that she was still breathing. They rush her to the hospital. Her mother gives her the same speech from Small Happiness, and Mishiro decides to tell everyone the truth about the Mirror World. Nobody left alive believes her, and they all pass it off as trauma related hallucinations. But Mishiro knows the truth, and that's all that matters.
I legit cried to this song. Mishiro kind of relates to me. A family in turmoil, having parents who didn't show you Love or attention and being bullied throughout their school life. Good song.
