Lovely that the camera is just an eye, recording something for posterity. No pretentious voiceovers, just the sounds of the villagers getting on with the job 👍
Amazing how artistic they were ,making use of native materials available,i hope the newlyweds are happy and blessed ,its all hard labor of love from their family and tribe, stay safe
There is no Home Depot over the hill and even if there were, these people do not know modern building techniques. They build the same way their ancestors did using the same materials.

Juat found this channel and I'm loving the content. I love how the entire village comes together to build a brand new home for the newlyweds😍😍😍. It really takes a village to raise balanced people. Love it!
Fantastic video. Educational, informative and absorbing. What a wonderful way to concrete the relationship between two families; this community cooperation is what is missing from the Western world. Don't ever say these people are primitive- they are head and shoulders better than we are at making things happen. Diplomacy in action. And using what is available instead of buying stuff they can't afford and really don't need.... Thank you I've watched most of these videos; they really are wonderful. ☮️

I have often wondered how much humanity had before they dispersed around the world. Clearly pointy sticks and some basic weaving skills as these are shared with our common ancestors the great apes, but maybe the knot was there too.
Yes,video is fine, interesting and educational. It gives life stile in Africa. But I can't believe that people in the 21st centre live in such conditions. May God help them be happy, healthy and strong!

If only you knew! Our 4x4 and two small led lights was all we had. I begged them to stop and let me film in the morning but they would have built in the dark if I was not there. A marriage had to be consummated!
Just bought y'all's book, I hope many more do too! Thank you for what y'all do! I find it extremely important, especially at how fast these ppls and their heritage is disappearing!!

What a different world it must be, where your neighbours take time out of their day to help you build your home... people nowadays complain about how we are all so cut off from each other, but I doubt this was a thing even a couple hundred years ago in most countries.
What a peaceful, worry free life. Compared to the modern day living on our part. Stress is the main reason for deterioration in people's health. I feel like these people deserve to live at least a 100 plus. Just some thoughts. 🤔

I'm Somali and their language sounded familiar (Afaan Borana/Oromo, Sidama, Somali, Afar). It turns out they are fellow Cushitics. I never heard of them before this video and I'm pretty well versed on the Horn of Africa and particularly, the Cushitic family. Nice. Their homes are similar to Konso people, another Cushitics in southern Ethiopia I can pick qotu (come), qabo (catch/hold), sodoh (inlaws but could mean boy for them), labo (bend), etc. It's very close to Afaan Oromo/Borana.
Not only the languages but the architectures also. I am reading little details from konso dwellings that arbore use, and close to them are the dassenetch who weave reeds like the afar close to somalia. I think people move around, form alliance, share ideas and language.
@@NomadArchitecture It's interesting. Read about the Konso generation tower. They seem to use similar materials to construct their towers. Their homes are more spacious as well and have permanent perimeter walls made from stones. As a Somali, I noticed right away the language. Proto-Somali indeed. You are doing great and very educational. Should film the Konso, Gurage and Somali traditional homes
Most likely very confusing talk/banter as you would most likly be talking with a serious drug used of many years and suffering those effects. Funny? I'm sure of that!!
Societies used to help each others build homes but this changed with only limited people having "skills" to build modern requirements. Imagine if your entire neighbourhood knew how to build a double storey modern home. Even though modern society lost the helping factor, still I believe many neighbours would help each others not to mention families instead of getting debt for life (mortgage) These people enjoy free life. No debt. No stress.
Lovely that the camera is just an eye, recording something for posterity. No pretentious voiceovers, just the sounds of the villagers getting on with the job 👍
I have tried pretentious voiceovers- total fail, only David Attenborough has the right to do these.
@@NomadArchitecture Agreed! Simple but excellent is always best 👍
No difference between women, men and children. Total teamwork. I just admire and miss such a social life.

See what we can do if we all work together? Let this be a lesson for ALL OF US!
This was so beautiful to watch
