What a beautiful and rare aircraft! I've been a P51 fan since I was a young boy, and picked up every book I could get from the library! The fact that it was built solely as a racer has my eyes wide open!!

The P-51 as far as I know was never known as a Thunderbird, it's always been a P-51 Mustang.
Thunderbird is the name of this specific airplane

How strange to care with such a remarkable airplane as the subject. James Stewart was a gentleman and a patriot. He never bothered to obsess about such nonsense.
Jimmy Stewart was pro gun control and supported Goldwater who was pro gay rights, pro abortion, and pro marijuana legalization. Jimmy Stewart was a communist compared to modern day conservatives.

Yes= they are--but ONLY because he was referring to the Hollywood Era ( 1941+) WW2 , and Hollywood was making very "Patriotic" movies, and supporting our troops (women as well as men) that were fighting Hitler and Japan. Please forgive his generation, and mine, if we are extremely PROUD of that America! Travel extensively-overseas if possible, and you will possibly learn just how GREAT America is !!! So please- it`s not "Party politics", as much as Patriotic politics!!! Huge difference my friend. BTW- it`s a C model.
@waderussell55 the Roosevelt era was characterized by teamwork, selflessness, and unity throughout the country to drive the war economy. I agree, these were patriotic times where people put politics aside and worked towards a common goal. There is a great lesson in there for those who focus on differences.
