I read this great story forty five years ago, in French and loved it. Now I get to listen to it in its original with Laurie narrating. Can't get any better.

In case you've not already noticed, I've got a reading of the first book by Hugh Laurie on the channel too...

Just stumbled on your channel - some great tales here and I can't wait to listen to Seraillier and Deighton. Subscribed!

Hope you have fun with it all - I can recommend the Jack Higgins 'Eagle' adaptations too. Fair warning, YT have stuck a lot of adverts on The Ipcress File these days (because it's a very popular video, I think) so you may like to try and use an ad blocker or something when you listen to that one...

@@MysticalMagpie-wo5fn I shall indeed! Adblock seems to keep on top of YT's attempts to flood us with commercial breaks.
      Keep up the good work!

Marching band music has it's place. 10 miles off any coast of your choice.

Gosh, I find the loud music so distracting. What a shame.

Most of the narrative centres around pre-WW1 Germany, what would you expect? Greensleeves?
