The year this concert happened, I was 15 years old and just finished my sophomore year playing vibraphone in my high school jazz band. Lionel Hampton was every vibraphonist's hero. I loved getting to play Flying Home my senior year.
I dance the rock for 40 years, these pieces are a real HAPPINESS and remind myself my evenings the BC blues (Mr André) One thank you to you for these furious pieces!
I saw Lionel Hampton in 1986 at the North Sea Jazz Festival in the large PWA hall. People where dancing on their seats! One of the best concerts I saw!

De principio a fin todo el Teatro Amira De la Rosa y los afortunados asistentes fuimos cautivados y deleitados por esa excepcional energía!!!! Magia!!!!! Genialidad!!!!! Talento y Creatividad!!!!!!! que él el Gran LANIOLEL HAMPTON siempre supo desplegar convirtiendo sus actuaciónes, como esa en el Amira,en Arte Supremo Musical!!! Gloria FOREVER al gran LIONEL HAMPTON!!!

Lionel ruled! I always loved the vibraphones & he made it work so well with the old school swinging jazz. His music brightens my day! :-)
