I passed my road test last Tuesday so congratulations to everyone who has passed before me and I wish everyone good luck who will be taking their road test
just passed thanks to these videos didnt know lining up the mirrors when parking was so helpful also the question of parking uphill turning ur wheels to the left put in park emergency brake and turn off the car got me the license for free didn't even have to pay! thanks
@@Potatoailesi it is 100% left, away from the curb if you're facing uphill and there's a curb to your right. facing downhill you steer to the direction of the curb. if you're uphill and there's no curb to your right, that's when you steer to the right. this can all be found in the handbook as well in case you're still unsure.
My son is taking his test here in Jacksonville, and im nervous for him. Looks alot easier then when i took mine 35 yrs ago. We have been practicing this video and im hoping he does well
I am about to sit my test in the UK and happened upon this video, I cannot believe how simplistic the standard is in the US. I had no idea that you don't test on real roads? Here we do an hour long test on every road from the narrowest single track country roads at 70mph with traffic to motorways, rush hour traffic and everything in between. I loved the "Quick stop" maneuver, here it is a simulated emergency stop requiring you to slam on the breaks at 40mph on a real road allowing ABS to do the work of keeping control, dare to approach an emergency stop gingerly and it's an instant fail. I am genuinely shocked by how little is required in US driving tests, Damn I wish i'd moved to the US & saved myself thousands of pounds and nearly a year on driving lessons, makes me think the UK driving test is way overkill.
I'm in the US. When I got my license (in the mid-80s), I was tested on an actual road. The US is a big country with 50 states and many counties per state, they all do them differently. What about liability in the UK? I can't imagine an unskilled driver going 70 in traffic - seems dangerous. People who get their initial license will spend lots of time driving with someone who is more experienced after obtaining their 'Learner's' license and subsequent license. Most of the people taking the test in this video are teenagers. So, let's say you're 16 when you take this test (as most people are - 'Learner's' is 15), you can't drive by yourself until you're 18. There are exceptions for a 16-year-old but that's generally how it works. In addition, many people take classes for hours - even after they take the exam - just to get comfortable.
It depends on the state and probably even the city and county. The U.S. is a big place, there are a lot of different ways people have been tested. I would say most people do have to drive on a real road for the test, this is just one test lol
hey !! to get an appointment at the dmv for a road test, you should probably check every night at 12:00 am. they usually let ONE appointment be available and whoever takes it, takes it. i hope this helps !
Wish i took my driving test in America this test is piss easy. getting your license in the UK is super hard. Examiners are brutal and you have to do every thing on the real roads not this practice set up.
I remember when I took my driving test mine was short, but I only made like 7 mistakes, and the three point turn they have you do it in a small space I hated that.
Is it a common thing to make the driving test in DMV's parking lots in Florida? Not in the traffic? I will have my test in Orange County. If it will be so similar to this, it's great.
UK driver here just wanting to know if this is the full test? Don't you have to go out into main traffic and highways with your examiner before getting a license?
What is the proper posture when you reverse in Florida? Some videos have you with both hands on the wheel and others left hand on the wheel and the other on the passenger seat?
My friend recently passed and according to her you have your left hand in the steering wheel and right hand on the center console lifting yourself up to see behind your shoulder to back up
Do you only take the reverse posture in that one instance when he asks? Or do you use the same posture in the 3-point turn and when you are reversing out of the parking spot?
In florida it’s usually just the positions of parking a car on a hill up and down. All the questions about signs and passing are usually reserved for the permit knowledge test. But it would be best to double check with a driving instructor or your DMV
I failed thrice in London (tbf I was pressured to keep sitting the exams once a week). I nearly passed the second time but the electronic break didn't go off and I was nervous. Was my only major in that test. Barely any minors. This looks like a cakewalk.
You are kidding me? Is this the road test? hahaha. I would never want to drive in the US if so. Of course "it's safe to do so" when you are driving in an enclosed area. Ridiculous. A 5-year-old could do this.
This test is a Joke, no wonder Florida drivers can't drive, they're taken in a special lot to take their test. when I took my road test in NY we actually went into real traffic where you could make a u-turn and had to parallel park. We also had to deal with other cars on the road and traffic signals. Things need to change here in FL bc there are too many accidents with young inexperienced drivers.
Coming from Chicago at 24 and apparently I need to drive to work construction and pools down here. Plenty of experience,I’m used to taking buses and trains though.
