EV markets are crumbling globally and most brands including tesla are selling at good discounts. Those people who'd buy an ev have already bought one. The remaining population is hard to penetrate. If the battery technology doesn't get better, EVs are going to die off as a trend that couldn't become fully mainstream.
Hyundai Kia are the only two most ballsy mainstream brands that understand what customers want. The way they do things is just exciting in a way which you don't feel from other companies. Hyundai and Kia together clinched three of the six World Car of the Year awards recently, all while undercutting their competitors. The Kia EV9 won both World Car of the Year and World Electric Vehicle awards, while the Hyundai IONIQ 5 N was recognized as the World Performance Car.
All I want from them is a clear statement or atleast some reassurance about their safety ratings. The moment they get their cars crash tested and come out with a good rating is when I’d take them seriously. They’ve done everything right so far. All I want beyond their offerings as of now is safety. That’s all.
Please also make an episode on Honda...that is the brand that I personally want to see do well...the elevate is a wonderful product...also answer why they are struggling despite having the technology and what next for Honda in Indian market?

So, in the next year and a half, Hyundai's only coming out with an EV in a segment that's slowing down and saturated, a facelift for a model (Alcazar) that's low-selling and one other product. That's not a big bang. That's a whimper. Hyundai would do well to lower prices of Alcazar and improve their design language. Except Creta, others will tail off if they don't look good as brand equity isn't high enough to jettison aesthetics altogether.

Safety is a big issue for Hyundai n Kia... no crash tests although they were good to bring in adas. Creta is a game changer for them.They have also different Powertrains that suit buyers including features & creature comforts. Vw should learn from them. They take customers in India for a ride by pricing their cars high without any creature comforts & always bring them in very late... take for adas as an example . Their Taigun is a small one compared to creta but price it higher for the badge vw. They never learn

After these white LED headlights are introduced many car drivers have started using Dipper unnecessarily. It’s so irritating. They are using it everywhere on highways and city roads also.They actually don’t know why it should be used.

You sacrifice fit and finish for better structural safety and crash worthiness. I think fit and finish are overrated. Good fit and finish might delight enthusiasts and engineers, but i do not see it adding any significant value to the end user....
Maruti Suzuki, Toyota, Hyundai, Kia, must put pressure on the government to reduce GST on hybrid vehicles. Also, the typical 15 year use limit must not be applicable to Hybrids. At present technology, hybrids are better and more environment friendly than pure EVs. Hybrids must be encouraged by reducing GST for fast development and adoption in the market. There will be resistance from non hybrid makers like TATA & M&M & others but the industry must form a consensus on the road ahead.

I believe the hatchback and sedan segment is not giving good sales because you have to make them now more sporty and luxurious and not just a family car as the concept of family car is changing now in India. The SUVs attract a lot of attention, with the numbers to match, but this segment could be a temporal affinity that may slow down in the next 5 to 7 years. What has happened with SUV growth, unfortunately, is that features predominate over design. All SUVs - from whicever OEM - are designed as bulky hulks with no hint of subtlety or great design. Both the Indian manufacturers - and this, obviously is a personal opinion - are purveyors of hulks that have no intrinsic design sensibility. Design sensibility come naturally to hatchbacks, sedans, and crossovers: the aerodynamic looks, sleekness, and sheer design attitude. The Hyundai i20 is a good example, as is the Honda Jazz, and many mid-size sedans. I would much prefer such "sedans" of mixed variety to evaluate that comes with looks than one of the hulk SUVs that the market appears to be wanting. In my estimation, it is only a want because the market has not been quite challenged by real design. Both TM and Mahindra are severely lacking in this, as possibly also Suzuki. Hyundai could be the one that proves this argument as the Europeans are in no position to experiment.
As per IEA forecast from 2027 to 2045 India will be the highest crude oil importer and oil/gas importer in the world. ( more than china also) Currently EV is all show to trap consumers and early profits by companies.
It's just matter of time when global players will up their game on safety (Hyundai has already done - 6 airbags standard is an example). I am surprised, Tata, even after sensing this is not doing anything to improve on fit and finish and their service quality. If not improved, tata sales will soon start to go down. I believe Mahindra is still well placed in emgine department and their service is better than Tata.
