    That is definitely more than sufficient performance from a folding knife for my needs, especially for its size. This has me feeling pretty comfortable with ordering one now as a travel friendly blade, good to see that it can stand up to harsh use if necessary.

    I have the exact knife. This is a perfect dress carry. Gets your basic cutting tasks done and won't get any stares. For it to have survived as much as it did is pretty impressive. As for Nitro V. Not my fav steel, but it isn't bad for basic cutting tasks.

      @NewAgeTactical  Год назад +2

      Yeah I agree on Nitro V. It wasn't bad but feels like even cardboard dulls it

    I think these tests should be done with your own new edge. Otherwise you just judge the factory edge rather than the knife and factory edges vary. You will see this knife’s full potential with your own edge

    Civivi is cool! I’ve got 3 button locks 2x altus and 1x conspirator. Great knives with buttery smooth deployment.

    This is a fifth pocket knife, not a primary EDC.

    I got this for my wife. She doesn't like to carry "anything" so I managed to convince her to carry this and she loves it. I'm not calling the blade weak, it's more like the .38 on your ankle 👍🏾

    • @NewAgeTactical
      @NewAgeTactical  Год назад +1

      Perfect analogy for this blade, the ankle .38!

    What you did however -fail- to mention, (at no fault of your own for lack of steel experience).. is just how easily that edge is serviceable back to screaming sharp! That is one true characteristic of 14C27N (often compared to AUS-8) but with much better toughness, and edge retention!

    Is there any recommendation for small pocket knives like this? Is there any other alternatives? I would like to have a small knife like this but not sure if there is something else better

    My EDC for the last few months has been the WE knife Banter in S35VN. Way better than Nitro V and it’s “bigger enough” to not be a nuisance like the smaller Baby Banter. Baby is for people who want a budget Spyderco dragonfly or never heard of it

    Awesome test again! Appreciate the reviews you guys do well presented and helpful analysis!! Even if it’s not a hard use knife it’s still great to see what the blade can hold up to!

    Seriously the best channel for hard-core knife testing keep up the work guys! Also what sharpener do you guys use/recommend?

    • @willhernandez7687
      @willhernandez7687 Год назад

      I have been using a Work Sharp Field Sharpener for years. It takes a bit of practice but once you get it, you got it. Screaming sharp edges.

    D2 for 35 bucks would have done the job. and in my experience 14C28N performs way better than Nitro-V.

  • @nebulamask81
    @nebulamask81 Год назад

    Hope you feel better soon man. Bunch of nasty stuff floating around right now.
    Baby banter is a solid little edc knife, I really like mine. Useful when I have to go somewhere with under 2.5" blade length restrictions or when I need something that won't scare non-knife people since it looks like it was designed by playmobil.
    Nitro-V holds an ok edge, sharpens easily, personally I slightly prefer 14c28n, but it's a solid all around user steel & knife. Mine came very sharp out of the box, so I'm wondering if yours might have just had a fatigued edge from some one tossing an edge onto with a bit less care from the factory. Sharpen it like 3 times and hopefully you'll get to some better steel.
    It's a bit on the pricey side for what it is, but not too bad if you can catch it on sale or when it's in stock on a website that has discount codes.
