If you look at Seales career, He did not have a terrible one.Much respect to a person who gave his all.
Joe Frazier fought half-blind from the very start of his career. Boxing is a tough, tough sport.
Seals fought Hagler 3 TIMES...Wow..Hagler edged him, they had a draw and the Hagler knocked him out. Seals was good and should have been a champion if had better managers. The three fights with Hagler probably shortened his career, but Seals fought well against an all-time great who was relentless.
Damn! The dude was fighting and winning while blind.
"SUGAR RAY SEALES NEEDED A GOOD PROMOTER TO KICK START HIS BOXING CAREER"...
Third was a third Seals was great lots of ppl only remember the two Leonard, Robinson, But Seals was great too.
Shows how an intangible like luck can have a great effect on any career.
Good vid. Saw limited footage of Seales but from the looks of it he was very talented. With a better team and no eye damage, history may have shown an era where two guys named Sugar Ray were champions. Whoever thought it was a good idea for an up and coming boxer to fight Marvin Hagler 3 times should have been fired immediately, that was career suicide right there.
IceveinsProductions exactly, nailed it bro. Seals definitely looked talented but wth were they thinking matching him against hagler????
Nick Thorn Probably thinking Seales would beat Marvin, that he was a superior boxer and had more talented.
Seales came when there were no Big TV Contracts for up and coming Olympic Fighters...No exposure to the lower weights. Not many saw Foreman til four years later when he TKOed Frazier. He fought on Undercards.
Oh OK that makes sense.
Thanks for that.
The point was to show the divergent paths the two Sugar Rays took. Seals was a Gold medalist but had bad management. They moved him badly. Too many soft touches, then contenders, nothing in between
At welterweight nobody beats Sugar Ray Robinson.
they say he fought near blind for years sugar ray seales
Thought this was gonna be about Sugar Ray Robinson & Leonard never heard of Seales
Exactly I’m like who the fuck is this guy 😂 calling himself Sugar Ray! There’s only 2 Sugars who both got the sweetest style in the Sweet Science of Boxing
Thank you. Thank you. My tape cut off after Taco Time. I've been looking for this for years.
Naw Sugar Ray Seals was the man...he was at my fight in 2003 when I won for the TOUGHMAN TITLE in Seahawk Stadium.
He said are you ready?
I said
"I STAY READY, NEVER
HAVE TO GET READY".
I'm from Washington. This is a sad yet triumphant story.
Madden is that your voice?.?.
There was 3 "Sugar rays"? :D
That’s what I’m saying, they left out sugar ray Robinson
@@longlivejah4608 no they didn’t if you listen carefully and pay attention in the beginning of the video They mention Walker Smith who borrowed his friends name Ray Robinson and people started calling him Sugar Ray Robinson. 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙍𝙚𝙖𝙡 𝙎𝙪𝙜𝙖𝙧 𝙍𝙖𝙮
"I dreamed it, I slept it, I eat it, and I saw myself as Sugar Ray Seales the next middleweight champion of the world". It may make you wonder how many boxers did everything they possibly could, and truly believed they would become champion, but never did. Sugar Ray Seales probably not the right example since he won an Olympic gold medal.
Great video, thanks!
Can't believe I hadn't heard of this sugar Ray also! In boxing n, life Every day is a school day ray seals u boxed like fk m8 win lose or draw and this sport is all about heart! RESPECT!!!!!
Nice upload
Most of the best fighters were arrogant.
Most were worse than arrogant. Robinson beat up more of his wifes & children than Floyd Mayweather could ever hope to do. Joe Louis trainer, Jack Blackburn, who was a master boxer in his day, killed several people in a shooting & only got like 20 years but the sheriff cut his sentence to 4 years for teaching him how to box [good behavior].
Robinson lost to those guys but all were universally recognized champions, Mayweather NEVER fought 1 EVER
Best blessings to them both 🥊🥊
Excellent!
The mayweather hate ever last one of the sugar rays for some reason lol
Oh well at least Marvin Hagler can say he beat one Sugar Ray LOL
O my God. Marvin Hagler turned out to be the dream killer
sugar ray robinson and the road runner, beep beep leonard
Sugar Ray is like the boxing Hokage title
Leonard's wife's coke habit was out of control.
Nice.
The right Washington to come from, what the hell is that about?
Bad attempt at political humor.
I guess that was the LEMON
in da suga...?
10:47....
Ya I remember this.
what about the original sugar ray...sugar ray robinson
He’s mentioned in the very beginning of the video
Where the f**k is sugar ray Robinson
He is the real one
He’s mentioned in the very beginning of the video
sugar ray greatest champion in lower weight
tama lng na mag retire na pag my nararamdaman na
xD
I saw one other feature like this on the 2 Sugar Rays where they made Seales look good by not mentioning any of his defeats and played it off like he never got his deserved shot at the title. It actually fooled the uneducated in to thinking he should have been champion and Hagler was avoiding him. I got in to a big argument with this idiot who thought Seales could beat Hagler because of that other TV segment. This was a much more honest portrayal showing his major defeats as well as misfortunes.
Sugar Ray Seales, one of the worst managed boxers in history. Of the sport.
He never ko hearns. It a bad call . It was a tko
