General elections are being held in India from 19 April to 1 June 2024 in seven phases, to elect all 543 members of the Lok Sabha. The votes will be counted and the results will be declared on 4 June 2024.
This is the largest-ever election in history, surpassing the previous election, and lasts 44 days, second only to the 1951-52 Indian general election. The incumbent prime minister Narendra Modi, who completed a second term, is running for a third consecutive term.
Approximately 970 million people out of a population of 1.4 billion people are eligible to vote, equivalent to 70% of the total population.[1][2][3] The legislative assembly elections in the states of Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Odisha, and Sikkim are to be held simultaneously with the general election, along with the by-elections for 25 constituencies in 12 legislative assemblies.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP 'Indian People's Party') is a political party in India and one of the two major Indian political parties alongside the Indian National Congress.[35] Since 2014, it has been the ruling political party in India under the incumbent Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The BJP's origins lie in the Bharatiya Jana Sangh, popularly known as the Jana Sangh, founded by Syama Prasad Mukherjee in 1951 in response to the politics of the dominant National Congress party. It was founded in collaboration with the Hindu nationalist volunteer organisation, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), and was widely regarded as the political arm of the RSS

Both persons are not aware of actual facts and figures. First of all, it was not Mission 144 - it was Mission 400+. Anchor person was saying BJP is weak in UP & Bengal but in UP itself, BJP & alliance won 65 out of 85 seats in 2019 Lok Sabha elections. And in Current State Assembly, BJP + Alliance has 312 representatives of out 403 in UP Assembly!
