I am from Srinagar kashmir. During the abrogation of article many promises were made but not an even single one has been delivered till now. Industrialisation, employment and development all promise came out to be fake till now, after the abrogation our lives have become very tough unemployment has cross all the limits, electricity bill went from 400-2100. I am from Border Region of Jammu District (Bishnah Assembly ), as in the Lok Sabha elections the border area voted against the BJP and in favour of Congress , the same seems to farily correct for Assembly Elections. The rural areas of Jammu are mostly against the BJP due to Agniveer , Lack of Jobs , Electricity issues , while Urban region of the Jammu(5-6 assembly seats) are a safe bet for BJP . My prediction will be Congress will get about 10-15 seats , for BJP it will be about 20-25 in Jammu region , I might be wrong as future is uncertain and anything can happen.

Being a Kashmiri, I don't find anything useful in these elections . I'll only accept Indian democracy if article 370 is fully restored and then I'll cast my vote happily. As of now, I feel, we are being treated as slaves with no right to defend our rights, protest or speak against the policies or decisions of the central government. We are living in an era in which the government can easily grab the properties of Kashmiris , kick us out of our houses and we will be left with no security , no law and no leader to speak against this injustice at the right time. I have nothing to do with different political parties or their ideologies but I'm a firm believer of truth and the truth is that the government INDIA snatched the rights of our semi autonomous state , loot our resources on daily basis and torture us using the military might and enforcement agencies besides an amazing judiciary system that takes centuries to deliver justice to the innocents. Thousands of Kashmiris who have tried to defend their rights are held in different jails since 2019 and it would be extremely inhuman to forget them and take part in the agenda of the opportunists who suddenly became "Sher" these days but lived like cats during or post the abrogation of Article 370. I'm boycotting the election process in protest of the forcible abrogation of Article 370 & 35A and I'll never cast my vote until our rights are restored fully and permanently.

Major problem in kashmir is unemployment and lack of privatization, because of which majority of youth are dependent on govt jobs and that too are drying up now.
So, I am from Kashmir and that too from the very "volatile zone". This was the first time I voted ignoring everything that has happened till yet. but I swear to God man, I would never vote again and will not let my family and friends vote if I am deceived. If my vote is used to against me and my brother, it will be on me and I would lose all the supposed faith I've embibed in me. Let's hope we get our own CM and let's hope we are granted our statehood back. Not to mention Article 370(35a). But as hopeful as I am, I'm skeptically anxious about the fact that I gave my vote to someone who has wronged us for an eternity and time and again has promised us that things will get better. If what they have promised us us delivered to us, well, I will happily vote again and will be the happiest person alive. Tit for tat, you can't deny all the militant activities and not all Kashmiris are saint, so what should govt. do, shouldn't the govt. be vigilant in a highly critical matter of internal security ?! I had priviledge to visit Kashmir Srinagar district this April. I did see that too much electricity issues there especially for localites. Got full picture from our driver for that trip. Also i felt people are dependent on tourism to earn for the entire year. Hopefully J&K situation improves as i enjoyed my whole trip and the driver was really very nice.

Now, when it feels like the damage has already been done, they return with promises of change. However, despite this lingering mistrust, there is hope for the best. With time, people have become more responsible and politically aware. There is a recognition that development, infrastructure, and access to resources are essential for survival, and these cannot be secured without political engagement. Governments hold the key to critical resources, and when they distribute these unfairly-favoring certain groups over others-people now understand the importance of standing up for their rights. A shift in mindset has occurred, where people have begun to differentiate between right and wrong and realize that political participation is vital to ensuring their rights are protected and resources are not misused. In this new era, there is a stronger understanding that staying passive is no longer an option. Political participation is essential for securing one's rightful share and safeguarding interests in a rapidly changing political landscape. I am from Kashmir. We want to be treated as human beings with equal rights as the majority of the nation possesses. Our fruit trucks should not be stopped on national highways for weeks and months. Our local products should get space outside the valley without any dissemination. Kashmiris should not be beaten outside the valley. For any level of politics, Kashmir should not be considered as a battlefield. Bollywood and the media should not demean the image of Kashmir by showing fabricated terrorism unnecessarily. I am from Border Region of Jammu District (Bishnah Assembly ), as in the Lok Sabha elections the border area voted against the BJP and in favour of Congress , the same seems to farily correct for Assembly Elections. The rural areas of Jammu are mostly against the BJP due to Agniveer , Lack of Jobs , Electricity issues , while Urban region of the Jammu(5-6 assembly seats) are a safe bet for BJP . My prediction will be Congress will get about 10-15 seats , for BJP it will be about 20-25 in Jammu region , I might be wrong as future is uncertain and anything can happen.

Being a Kashmiri, I don't find anything useful in these elections .
I'll only accept Indian democracy if article 370 is fully restored and then I'll cast my vote happily.
As of now, I feel, we are being treated as slaves with no right to defend our rights, protest or speak against the policies or decisions of the central government.
We are living in an era in which the government can easily grab the properties of Kashmiris , kick us out of our houses and we will be left with no security , no law and no leader to speak against this injustice at the right time.
I have nothing to do with different political parties or their ideologies but I'm a firm believer of truth and the truth is that the government INDIA snatched the rights of our semi autonomous state , loot our resources on daily basis and torture us using the military might and enforcement agencies besides an amazing judiciary system that takes centuries to deliver justice to the innocents.
Thousands of Kashmiris who have tried to defend their rights are held in different jails since 2019 and it would be extremely inhuman to forget them and take part in the agenda of the opportunists who suddenly became "Sher" these days but lived like cats during or post the abrogation of Article 370.
I'm boycotting the election process in protest of the forcible abrogation of Article 370 & 35A and I'll never cast my vote until our rights are restored fully and permanently.

Major problem in kashmir is unemployment and lack of privatization, because of which majority of youth are dependent on govt jobs and that too are drying up now.
Kashmir has gone through ages of oppression but things are somehow changing now....
So, I am from Kashmir and that too from the very "volatile zone". This was the first time I voted ignoring everything that has happened till yet. but I swear to God man, I would never vote again and will not let my family and friends vote if I am deceived. If my vote is used to against me and my brother, it will be on me and I would lose all the supposed faith I've embibed in me.
Let's hope we get our own CM and let's hope we are granted our statehood back. Not to mention Article 370(35a).
But as hopeful as I am, I'm skeptically anxious about the fact that I gave my vote to someone who has wronged us for an eternity and time and again has promised us that things will get better.
If what they have promised us us delivered to us, well, I will happily vote again and will be the happiest person alive. But if I am proven wrong and am deceived, well, we don't repeat the same mistakes twice.

I had priviledge to visit Kashmir Srinagar district this April. I did see that too much electricity issues there especially for localites. Got full picture from our driver for that trip. Also i felt people are dependent on tourism to earn for the entire year. Hopefully J&K situation improves as i enjoyed my whole trip and the driver was really very nice.
The Kashmir issue remains one of the most intricate political matters, deeply rooted in history and shaped by various geopolitical, social, and economic factors. Historically, there was a time when the political leadership did not inspire confidence, leading to widespread disillusionment. The decision to boycott elections stemmed from this deep mistrust-people felt that engaging with a system that continuously failed them was pointless. It was a period marked by the belief that passive resistance was better than actively participating in a seemingly predetermined political outcome.
Now, as an 19-year-old, I can say that, even today, I still struggle to trust our local leaders. These are the same individuals who betrayed us, and the political parties that held power did nothing for people. Now, when it feels like the damage has already been done, they return with promises of change. However, despite this lingering mistrust, there is hope for the best.
With time, people have become more responsible and politically aware. There is a recognition that development, infrastructure, and access to resources are essential for survival, and these cannot be secured without political engagement. Governments hold the key to critical resources, and when they distribute these unfairly-favoring certain groups over others-people now understand the importance of standing up for their rights. A shift in mindset has occurred, where people have begun to differentiate between right and wrong and realize that political participation is vital to ensuring their rights are protected and resources are not misused.
In this new era, there is a stronger understanding that staying passive is no longer an option. Political participation is essential for securing one's rightful share and safeguarding interests in a rapidly changing political landscape.

I am from Kashmir. We want to be treated as human beings with equal rights as the majority of the nation possesses. Our fruit trucks should not be stopped on national highways for weeks and months. Our local products should get space outside the valley without any dissemination. Kashmiris should not be beaten outside the valley. For any level of politics, Kashmir should not be considered as a battlefield. Bollywood and the media should not demean the image of Kashmir by showing fabricated terrorism unnecessarily. We deserve jobs and at least basic development in the UT. There is much in our hearts but no one is ready to listen and do a favour. Anyway, ache din ayenge.
