    damn u always make staff weaver look so appealing. i think its a blessing that we have so many builds though.

      Totally agree with you on that! Thinking back to where we started with weavers I'm happy to see so many decent builds and players emerging with it.
      Just hoping anet would add some, even mediocre, way to clear conditions with weaver line alone to make non-water lines more potent.

      G00DIH was literally about to ask how you deal with say scourges or *gasp* condi mirages. Even with a sword/dagger build with water and full cleanse traits I still struggle to cleanse against mirages, let alone try and kill them. I usually run with lightning rod with my weaver and just swap if I feel like I’m seeing more condi builds around. Maybe a cleansing sigil could help but with staff I just don’t know.
      Edit: Follow-up question: In your Air-Arcane build, what does Arcane Resurrection do for you? Is it really just for the faster down regeneration?

    • @G00DIH
      @G00DIH  7 лет назад +1

      Arcane Resurrection was a mistake in the editor, I am actually using Final Shielding as you can see in the video. Thanks for noticing it, corrected that to the build link now.
      About the conditions. Without the stupidly op Cleansing Water and Woven Stride combo it is very hard on weaver against any good condi player if you have air/fire in your build. So to sum up the options in those cases:
      --- When running Cleansing Water without Woven Stride, such as in my air/water build, there is still plenty of regeneration procs (cleanses) and Ether Reneval on low cd is very nice. However, not having arcane in melee builds is in my opinion a suicide against power builds - so this mostly works better with staff.
      --- With air/arc setup, having Ether Reneval is a must if you want to have any chance against good condi builds, and even then you really need to know when to use it and always have stability on to avoid interrupts. With staff it is a little easier because you have the range as your advantage, with melee... well, good luck! That being said, I have been planning to test something like this (note the food): gw2skills.net/editor/?vFQQJAsdncMA14idOA+4CM5iFJA7+RXpv0CLgAwJsoP2CTCA-j1SQAB9oFA1TAwKKB5RHAHKRAY/hmVv45HAAXqoUiyjNUCFAAB4mtZAczbezbezbWbmNzm38mJDQ1YA-w So let's see. Further cleanses can be gotten by swapping the other sigil to Generosity one.

    this looks cool. a real ranged mage build. this game seems to lack a true ranged class caster. maybe this is what i have been looking for. i want to play a power build but necro has reaper, mesmer is basically close quarters if you want to be optimal and thats it. i just want a truly ranged caster

    Good stuff! Which of the 2 builds do you feel is better for a new elem and more forgiving when I make an error? Also you're not using woven stride in either of the builds below. Should we not anymore?

      In short: Arcane build is better against power builds, Water against conditions.
      That being said, out of these two I would say Arcane is much easier to play. Just to name some of the pros; you get lower attunement cd (one of top reasons of dying on weaver is locking yourself to wrong attunement on wrong time), more boon coverage (especially protection), and Final Shielding (much less likely to die to sudden burst).
      One safe option to start playing staff weaver is to go arc/water/weaver (just pick the same traits I have in the arc and water lines). You will lack a lot of damage which is a big issue if you run alone, but your survivability will be much better. If possible start with that when running with a group, and when you feel confident enough about survivability and rotations start using air-line for the damage.
      Woven stride should only be used with Cleansing Water trait. And, for a staff build (!), when running Cleansing Water I feel I have enough regeneration pop cleanses as it is without adding the extra I get from WS. So hence prefer the 10% extra damage instead. Sure, if you want to be pretty much invulnerable for conditions you can take WS too. :) I did that in my first staff build you can see in Vol 4 video.

    for u to go toe to toe w/ a SB 1v1 as a staff weaver, damn skills

  • @blacksunaccounts
    @blacksunaccounts 6 лет назад

    you make it look really cool even though i think most of the people you fight are not that skilled

    • @G00DIH
      @G00DIH  6 лет назад

      Thanks! I try to leave out the worst opponents, but you are right that most of them are not that highly skilled - or just don't know how to react to a staff weaver who knows how to play. :)
      Also, with the high ping it is hard to fight really good opponents anyways; usually I need to time dodges based on guess instead of actual reaction because I often see the skill animations too late.
