I always go with FIR RIB... because Black & Red are angrier colors, more invocative of a "Frenzied" State. Which ties in nicely with the old show & film.
You know... There have been the theory for years that Hasbro switched the colour schemes of Rumble and Frenzy in the cartoon on purpose. The thought behind it being that kids would want both versions. But seeing as they were not sold together, you'd need to buy BOTH duo-packs to get both. The thought being that if Rumble had been red, kids would only want that figure. It wasn't until the popularity of the show was confirmed that both characters were used. So they slapped the red colour scheme of Frenzy. The same theroy applies to why Soundwave was not sold together with Laserbeak as they were paired in the cartoon. Soundwave was sold together with Buzzsaw on purpose, so that you would need to buy the Laserbeak's duo pack to get them back together again, as in the cartoon.
I maintain to my dying day that Rumble and Frenzy, being typical mischevious twins, paint themselves in each other's colors just to screw with everyone. In my headcanon they were both initially "blue", thus IMO Frenzy actually showed up - in his proper toy color - in MTMTE part 2 inside Sherman dam while Rumble was fighting Hound underwater. Frenzy showed up as Red in Countdown to Extinction, while Rumble stayed blue, and the two punks are messing with our heads to this day.
That wouldn't make sense since Frenzy's voice is higher than Rumbles so anyone with hearing would be able to tell they weren't the kne they said they were...
As a kid in the 80's, I remember getting the toys for Rumble and Frenzy along with Soundwave one Christmas. But after they were out of the packaging, all we had to go on was the cartoon to identify these characters. So the show was the final say as far as we were concerned. My Rumble will always be blue.
Megatron: "Soundwave I a sick of this confusion! I ordered Rumble and Frenzy to repainted themselves. From now on Rumble will be yellow and Frenzy will be green!" Little green robot comes in: "Wait you want me to put on the yellow?" Megatron face palms.
I feel Hasbro could come tomorrow and make up their mind and STILL the debacle wouldn't end. I for once would love to see a version of Frenzy and Rumble that actually acknowledges the debate in story, and having them switch color schemes just to screw with people.
The funny part about this upload is that recently (literally yesterday) I revisited the previous “Rumble and Frenzy - Who is Who?” video, so the timing is impeccable.

It really depends on the incarnation. It's like Arcee being colored blue in TFP while otherwise being pink. So Frenzy is red in one incarnation and then blue in another and same goes for Rumble.
I'll say Rumble is Blue or Purple [depending on the artist] and Frenzy Red. As far as the Transformers Gobots toy that Frenzy [the one I had own until his arm broke] was a sparkly Purple car.
It's obvious via the toy that Rumble was intended to be the red/black one and Frenzy was intended to be the blue/purple one. All western media is essentially based off the toys, being essentially commercials in 1/2hr cartoon and comic book form. Of course, for those of us who grew up with the G1 cartoon, it was our only source of Transformers lore. As it painted Rumble as the blue/purple one (whether by accident or design), while putting him on center stage it mostly sidelined the red/black one who was dubbed Frenzy. Thusly, putting the blue/purple one at the forefront of Transformers visibility and naming him Rumble, those of us who were engaged with the original cartoon and it's toys (because honestly, who bought the toys before they got hyped up by the cartoon back then?), Rumble will always be the blue/purple one. This holds true to me; Rumble of the cartoon will always be Rumble to me, period, in all his blue and purple goodness and it will forever be Rumble who uttered the unforgettable line "Hey, nobody calls Soundwave uncrasamatic!" If you think of it the other way around, that's fine, because it is also true, depending on what medium you draw from. There have been multiple 'generations' and multiple continuities of Transformers that span different realities and media/mediums, so essentially, both *are* true. That being said, the only one I care about is the G1 cartoon, so FIRRIB forever.

Soundwave was the Cybertronian that originally had mini-cons, before the term was coined. They were, Rumble, Ravage and Laserbeak, later Frenzy. It's not too hard to know the difference by watching the animated show. And they were fully sentient as well. Which made them useful to the shinobi like Soundwave, the intelligence officer of the decepticons who themselves were descended from the warrior class Cybertronian. Rumble was blue and purple Ravage was black and zinc Laserbeak was black and white with some red and gold accents Frenzy was red and black
Cool update, didn’t know about the third robot that was Japanese exclusive. As always, I like to think rumble is blue and frenzy is red, simply because I saw the cartoon first. Not to mention I think their colors fit their names too. The blue one looks like rumble and the red one looks like frenzy.

Very welcome. you do great work. It really feels like you are just a big fan sharing what you are passionate about. and thats really cool for someone like me who has never had friends who were into transformers like i was/am. So i look forward to your videos. thanks again.
I like the idea that rumble is red and black signifying that he is more destructive than frenzy who is silver and blue with a more slender design than rumble signifying that he is more stealthy.
I thought i lost my mind when i saw this suggested on my feed and saw it was posted this year as i have seen the previous one...but for me Rumble will be blue/purple and Frenzy Red/Black as im a 80s cartoon TF fan as sadly i never read the comics as they were never a thing here where i live what i can think up
It's a needed update. The original version was made using low res images and I only had a crappy mic to use. This one had more information on the toys and expanded parts. I even included the fact that Hasbro still is involved in the confusion and it's hilarious.

I remember years later when Ebay first came out I bought a whole job lot on Transformers for £260 just to get them! Now I have the boxed reissue ones as well. And they were fully sentient as well.
Which made them useful to the shinobi like Soundwave, the intelligence officer of the decepticons who themselves were descended from the warrior class Cybertronian.
Rumble was blue and purple
Ravage was black and zinc
Laserbeak was black and white with some red and gold accents
Frenzy was red and black
Rumble will always be blue, to me. I felt like Frenzy was a more minor character. That is just my head canon.
Rumble would easily be my favorite Decepticon cassette to vibe with, and Frenzy too, the others however lack communication skills.
I go by the Original Cartoon. Rumble is Purple, Frenzy is Red.
Same also by the aligned continuity frenzy red rumble blue.
Cool update, didn’t know about the third robot that was Japanese exclusive. As always, I like to think rumble is blue and frenzy is red, simply because I saw the cartoon first. Not to mention I think their colors fit their names too. The blue one looks like rumble and the red one looks like frenzy.
Rumble is blue and frenzy is red
I never realized that was Rumble yelling on Char. To me, he's always the purple and blue one.
I think they swap colors to mess with fans and manufacturer's.
i litterally just saw this in my feed and said "hell yeah i'd love to watch this again!" i didn't realize it was an improved video. lol. thanks for all the great content!
Thanks! I really appreciate that! I wanted this to be better than it was before and I am much happier how the video came out!
Very welcome. you do great work. It really feels like you are just a big fan sharing what you are passionate about. and thats really cool for someone like me who has never had friends who were into transformers like i was/am. So i look forward to your videos. thanks again.
Rumble is blue - purple and Frenzy is red - black...
I’ve always known Rumble as blue and Frenzy as red mainly because of the War for Cybertron game
Rumble is red, Frenzy is blue. G1 toy say, so good day.
FIB RIR
Frenzy is Red, Rumble is Blue, the cartoon has said so, so screw you.
@@TheSmart-CasualGamer As an obvious mistake which was even sed in the video
@@TheSmart-CasualGamer Rumble is red
Frenzy is blue
The cartoon colours were a mistake
Boo hoo!
Loved when lil guy jumped out and said you wanna rumble with rumble
I personally am a FIRRIB guy.
I actually never knew about the coloring mix up till this video I've always just known Rumble as the blue one and Frenzy the red one
Frenzy is Red and Rumble is blue that's how I grew up calling them that's what they were called in the g1 cartoon and I never followed the comics.
I was expecting a rhyme, you caught me off guard.
This comment section does funny things to my head.
@@syweb2 lol
Thank you for calling out that two pack that thing is impossible to find
Frenzy is red
Rumble is blue
I like Rodimus Primal
Do you?
The toys usually call them according to the g1 toys, but most fans grew up watching the original cartoon, so to them, and me, its FIRRIB.
No one calls RodimusPrimal uncrasimatic!
I like the idea that rumble is red and black signifying that he is more destructive than frenzy who is silver and blue with a more slender design than rumble signifying that he is more stealthy.
I always think of Frenzy as the red one and rumble as the purpish blue one
And Frenzy is purple now in Earthspark
FIRRIB
Always happy to see a fellow Cybertronic Spree fan 🤟
I thought i lost my mind when i saw this suggested on my feed and saw it was posted this year as i have seen the previous one...but for me Rumble will be blue/purple and Frenzy Red/Black as im a 80s cartoon TF fan as sadly i never read the comics as they were never a thing here where i live what i can think up
It's a needed update. The original version was made using low res images and I only had a crappy mic to use. This one had more information on the toys and expanded parts. I even included the fact that Hasbro still is involved in the confusion and it's hilarious.
1:57 - Frenzy and Ravage eluded me as a kid, it was the Transformers I never magaed to get. I remember years later when Ebay first came out I bought a whole job lot on Transformers for £260 just to get them! Now I have the boxed reissue ones as well.
I gave up trying to get it and a kid and got 2 transformer watches, one red, one blue to represent them while playing with the figures.
Was this reuploaded?
It's a much needed update to the older version. It's longer with more information than before!
@@RodimusPrimal that's good to hear
@@RodimusPrimal did Soundwaves other minicons die in WFC and FoC since they dont appear in Transformers Prime?
