I tend to agree with you that it’s often the least important employers that put you through the most hoops. Often times, they’ve only made the decision once you’ve revealed your desired salary. So all of the other stuff (the assignments, and 3-4 interviews) is sort of pointless.
It sounds like you had a similar experience going through the tedious interview rounds. It's very interesting b/c initially I thought it was luck based how I landed certain roles; however, after multiple 'luck' instances it made me look at it from a diff angle. There's a job mismatch in Calgary. Tons of highly educated younger people moving from other major cities and competing for the same jobs. On the other hand, there's a ton of open jobs for blue collar jobs these white collar young people are overqualified for.
How about some tech videos? 1) How I got into tech? 2) How to switch careers into tech? Just a suggestion because I've been watching videos and they seem to generate a lot of views. Great vid btw.
Those are all great video suggestion - I will add them into my video ideas. But yes good eye, I have noticed tech video tend to generate more of an audience.

They had a job fair in Calgary and thousands of young people under 25 went to apply for jobs but I don't know how many actually got jobs.
