One finished sock is called a HO (half object) Rather than and FO (finished object) and its entirely celebrated! 🎉 sometimes I wear the finished one while I knit the second one 😂
Not only are you an incredible seamstress, you have an amazing eye for styling, set design and posing. Watching the still photos on the right was like going through a catalog.
I saw the first two garments she made on Pinterest and I absolutely fell in love with them, and saw that the pattern wasn’t available yet, so I self drafted my own pattern which I had never done before, and it turned out really good, and I am so inspired by what she made and I’m so glad I was able to make it to but I think I’ll definitely be purchasing her pattern when it comes out, that way it turns out better than my self-drafted ones😅
Every thing was just beautiful! I know what you mean by personal style. I used to think it would be the same as I got older but I was wrong. I've had to rethink my wardrobe and actually inlist some of my friends whom I trust to tell me the absolute truth. 🤣
The orange dress is everything! I saw it a while ago I guess in the youtube shorts and loved it. I would definitely watch a longer video about it and will probably try to sew something similar for an upcoming wedding in tuscany. Btw I love your content. It is so aesthetically pleasing and motivating at the same time.
Yes, please! I would love to watch your process and learn more. And I second this comment, I’ve been looking for inspiration as I start and Im loving your work
everything you made is absolutely gorgeous but i also wanted to take a minute to appreciate your photography of every garment which is just beautiful!! thank you for sharing everything you made this year, it's super inspiring
I really enjoyed seeing your makes and the stories behind them. So cool about the stranger things coat, loved the orange wedding dress and all of your knitting- oh and the birthday party- how fun! Nice work. :)
You’re totally right about making socks for small feet. I made a pair for my dad who wears size 13! It was awful. They had the same number of stitches as a sweater
Ok, I know this is a handmade garments video but your moped!!! I used to have a Kinetic and it was the best goofy mope!! My partner and I are big moped people and I never expect to see them in the wild 😍
Haha that’s awesome!! I don’t have one of my own yet but I really covet a Honda trail 50! This one is a friends and we currently have 2 more parked under our deck 😂
It's so impressive seeing everything together! This year I want to make more trousers & shorts I actually like, because I never seem to find ones that fit properly in stores... Thanks for the inspiration! :)
thank you! it is wild to put everything on a rack, i'm always blown away!! good luck with the shorts and trousers, doing crotch adjustments was huge for me this year, its such a win when things fit correctly!
Steph! Could you do a video on pattern makers /sewers and you follow and why? I LOVE the style of the clothes you sew but am not sure how to go about finding patterns I like amongst all the different styles
I wish I could knit or crochet, I have so many ideas. My hands, wrists and vingers, especially thumb(s) won’t allow it. I love sketching and painting too but that’s very limited as well so I gave up on the idea of crocheting or knitting things myself. Luckily I can sew (with machine, hand-sewing is a nightmare too) I love all your pieces. Nothing weird, just special 😜 You really have a fun overall style, it suits you well and it’s beautiful (I love matching tops and bottoms but won’t wear them together either)
Those jeans with the color block stripes were the bomb!! The blue color was really cool too. I like that your stripes were related, but not matchy-matchy. Props for working with thrifted fabric too!
I didn't know you lived in Atlanta, I do too and love to sew. If you've never heard of it, Gail K Fabrics is one of the most amazing fabrics stores I've ever been to and you can find everything there. I go there almost once a week just because I love it so much and I try to tell everyone I know that lives near me about it because I want everyone to know how amazing of a store it is.
I love it all! Thank you for sharing ❤ it’s so cool to see your personal style absolutely shine through this year of makes and I can’t wait to see all the lovely garments you make in 2023 🙌
I am still very much a beginner but am lucky to have a mom that loves sewing (and patchwork, quilting, knitting and crocheting) and has a decent know-how that I can benefit from. I drive her crazy with all my ideas to alter everything to better serve my needs that don’t exactly follow the classical rules. But I’d rather learn from my mistakes than make so many things that aren’t 100% what I want. If I’m gonna make it myself anyway I might just better make it exactly how I want or to best fit the item for the purpose it will have. I bought a bunch of double gauze fabric for sewing some dresses for the summer. I made a self drafted base for making a self drafted dress last year. I say “base” because it’s kinda a prototype for a summer dress but it’s more of a potato sac than a dress, but that’s the style I want, sort of. Just want it to look a bit more finished than just a loose sheet around my body. This one is definitely homewear only though because it’s white and rather see-through. But I had the fabric and knew I wouldn’t mind having messed up the plain see-through white. At least I would learn a lot by seeing all that I fabricated right there in 3D my hands to be tossed and turned and examined rather than just a design and/or drawings and measurements on paper. But it is actually wearable and I absolutely prefer an oversized piece of soft fabric over a well-fitted form any day of the week so I now have a great indoor dress and a solid base to work out my draft(s) for my dress(es). My experienced mom was tearing down my idea (well, not the idea or creativity but the rate of succes to be functional by not following basic guidelines) so I just had to see how this simple style I had in mind would fit around my body. It just needs an elastic or tunneling & string at waist/under the buste (it’s like a low empire waist) but I’m still going back and forth on the elastic or string. But I now realize, while typing this, that, if I go with the drawstring, I can still make temporary alterations and test it out without having to start from scratch again so I guess I made up my mind about that dilemma just right now. Last week I made a sort of a somewhat difficult level of the easiest laundry bag ever. I started out with the easy straight front and back piece that make a flat square with opening on top but made it difficult with using a double front pocket and all lining with every single seem covered. Still need to hand-sew the elastic in the two front pockets so those stitches will be invisible as well and make my “string”/tunnel from the same fabric to put through the top tunnel. Very proud of that one, since I didn’t look up anything but just thought about everything myself, just went in with the idea that I must be able to “see” it myself, how and in what order I had to sew, considering all the tutorials I saw on YT and the knowledge I already had (from my mom mostly). I didn’t invent anything and didn’t learn anything new, just remembered and put to practice what I had already learned before but I’m very proud of what I accomplished because it was the first time that I actually made something from scratch with all the neatly finished seems and details
I’ve seen so many of these “everything I made” videos and while they’re all impressive this is the most inspiring and jaw dropping by far - every piece is SO stunning and the video itself is beautifully shot. So amazing!
Omg I saw your review on the cargo pants on ThisisKaishis Etsy! I was thinking they looked cool and then on RUclips just now I found you. New subscriber .. so impressed by the stuff you made 😍
Beautiful makes all round - very inspiring! Your self-drafted patterns for the knitted vest - and the green check pants - are amazing! I would love it if you released the patterns 🙂
missed your long videos so much! It would be very nice to see your video about planning 2023 makes! What do you think about making some difficult projects such as trench coat or classic jacket?
I said the same thing about socks. 😂 why on earth would you wanna make socks, when you could get them so easily in the shops...... That was until of course I couldn’t find the colour I was looking for. 😆 So I found a petite knit Sunday Sock pattern, and got the exact colour yarn I was looking for, and Voila, my first ever socks were born. 😊🤗 i was so very proud of myself, and they were so therapeutic to make. But onto your makes.... I just LOVED the dress you made for your best friends wedding, 😍 and also the Strikke tank . Will definitely be looking into making them both. Thank you. And well done with all your projects. 👍🏾
I don't knit, but my mom does and her favorite thing to make is socks. She avoids getting tired of the second sock (what she calls second sock syndrome) by using two sets of needles and casting on both socks at the same time. She switches from one to the other and then their done at the same time! Something to think about if/when you make more!
Absolutely love your video…you are so creative!!! Thank you for limiting extra commentary and focusing on your inspiration and craft. I was so impressed with the way you can just go back and “line” your trousers after they are finished.
I'm just learning how to sew and you're such an inspiration 🥺 I haven't made anything officially because I'm scared hahaha but one day I'd love to be a skilled as you.. and to self draft something? Wowow
Wow, loved every piece. Thank you for being so inspirational. I feel so encouraged to start creating. 💓 I hope this New Year will bring so much joy and love for you and your family.
Such a lovely video! I recently started sewing and it's lovely to see both hand-knits and hand-sewn garments in one video. You get me so excited to expand my handmade wardrobe this year! 💗
LOVED the fougere lysimaque sweater. I’m mostly a knitter and crocheter but I want to get into sewing. Also the korshavn vest is adorable and immediately went on my list 😅 just subscribed and looking forward to more inspiration from you :)
A lot of beautiful things here 😍 But I must say - I looove the quilted jacket! I know you based it on the free pattern but it's so distinctively different, I'd love see a pattern for that ;)
I was watching ready to comment my faves but there's too much good stuff!! I think our styles and colour palettes have a lot of crossover so I was basically enjoying everything. Top 5: beautiful burnt orange wedding dress, burnt orange knit vest (the craftmanship!!), thanksgiving trousers (sorry they're itchy but they are SO CUTE), your favourite fleece jacket and the little Sophie scarf!
love love love your makes and channel steph! keep on delivering with the goods - ah and yess we‘ll love a tutorial fo the flowy orange silk dress - it just suits you perfectly 🔥
the way you used the rosecafe bustier pattern to make that dress is STUNNING ! The color, the material everything is so pretty!!! what pattern have you used for the bottom? its crazy beautiful!
i truly mean this in the kindest way possible, but Please iron your fabrics lol 😭the wrinkles are utterly Killing me when you have such good construction!!! the ribbed tank from the beginning looks sooo chic and totally would have fooled me in a blind test, but also looks like it sat at the bottom of a hamper for a month. on a more positive note i totally love the zip off cargo pants and how they fit on you! the self drafted pleather pants also look great, i really like how fitted you got the back of them. the agnes pjs top is also one of my favs! i think the crop looks great, and it looks super warm and cozy (plus the buttons are so cute!) the rose cafe bustier (the dress for the wedding) looks AMAZING!!!!!! it is so beautiful!!!!!!! the color is so rich and works great with your skin, and it looks so fitted and perfect 😭 if you haven't seen it already, i definitely think you might like jessie maed's summer secret crop or her ribbed halter! two knits i'm planning this year are the handsome chris sweater and the arrakis shawl by agata a. piasecka.
Hehehehe thanks for the kind words, to be fair some of these were pulled out of a pile of clothes, probably should’ve given them all a good steaming 😂 I’ll definitely check those out!! I appreciate your detailed response 🫶🏻
Hi Steph! I've just found you on Instagram and completely fell in love with your talent. I would love a video on how to make that silk dress (so dreamy). Thank you for sharing! Have a lovely week
Ooo I want to attempt sewing/ knitting some of my own clothes this year and this is so inspiring! Also, as a - I have no idea what I'm doing or where to start - newbie, I really love that you added the makers of the patterns! 😊
@@stephtime Haha thank you for the confidence boost! 💕I just found your channel and am skimming through all your videos; so much good content to binge! I can't think of anything I might want to know yet, but we'll see what happens when I get my hands on a sewing machine 😋
YOU LIVE IN GEORGIA??? I live in Kennesaw and used to work at the Joanne's there! I love your style and how you are so adventurous in tackling some pretty complicated sewing projects. I am mostly a knitter and love to see younger people like myself into the same stuff I'm into.
Love all of the pieces you made! Did you also knit the vest you are wearing in the video? I kept waiting for you to talk about it. I would love it if you could share the pattern!
can you link your patterns? i’m just starting out this year on attempting some makes, and i’d love to buy a few patterns you’ve used or made to get me started
One finished sock is called a HO (half object) Rather than and FO (finished object) and its entirely celebrated! 🎉 sometimes I wear the finished one while I knit the second one 😂
Hahaha I love that!!! Wearing it definitely gives some extra motivation to finish while I’m on sock island!! 😂🧡
I love that it's appreciated to HO like yes celebrate that ho! Wear that ho!

That orange knit vest omg I need to learn to knit for just making that

You’re totally right about making socks for small feet. I made a pair for my dad who wears size 13! It was awful. They had the same number of stitches as a sweater
HAHAH nooo not the size 13!!! That sounds miserable haha I hope he wears them every day
the star pockets on that quilted jacket are sooo sick!!

The silk dress ist absolutely gorgeous! I would love a video on it.

late discovering this channel but just WOW🤩 that’s all
Definitely want a video about the orange silk dress!!
On the green rip stop pants you could make a green or black waistband facing and easily hand stitch it in place. Then it would not feel sweaty.

Nice!!! Georgia represent! Thank you so much 🫶🏻🙏🏼
I was at Frocktails too :)
Omg!! Are you going again this year?
I would love a pattern for the self drafted knit vest, it's so prettyyyy
I love the knitted vest you are wearing. Can I find a pattern for that anywhere? Happy New Year!
All of the pattern info is in the description, but that would be the korshavn slipover by strikkekaffe!
Love all of the pieces you made! Did you also knit the vest you are wearing in the video? I kept waiting for you to talk about it. I would love it if you could share the pattern!
Hehe thank you! I did knit it! It’s the holiday slipover by PetiteKnit, one of my 2021 knits 🫶🏻

What kind of knitting machine did you get?

@@stephtime Thank you. Is there a place you can get sweater/vest patterns to make on the Sentro, or did you create the pattern yourself?
@@sewwithmsjones1196 I’m sure there are lots of tutorials but i winged this one!
