Fantastic review. I'm debating between this or the Fuji Xpro 2. I'm sort of leaning towards the PEN, but I'm still debating. I think the 12mm F2 lens would suit me better on the Pen. I like the perspective of wide shots.
I just discovered your RUclips reviews. You have some very well thought out and executed pieces - nicely done! Having now watched your videos on both the Pen-F and a6300, It would be interesting to see a comparison between these two and perhaps a couple more of the latest and greatest mirrorless bodies out there.
If you were able to map whatever function on the front dial that would be much more helpful. I don't see the use in having a dial for color editing, I mean it's cool but I'd rather have the option to map some other feature to that dial.
+Sara Marjorie Strick you have the right attitude and in no time you will have the highest viewers , you are a natural talent and after a while you will not notice the camera, instead you will be just talking to your friends.
"I like it" is not much criticism, over all the only changes to the thing are : A retro body(Not new), new EVF, No weather sealing, aluminum not magnesium, more custom buttons, a dial for art filters( use lightroom), no so good auto focus, a facial recognition sensor( that tends to not want to switch between the EVF and main screen, It Does shoot nice stacked RAW photos, and I'm shore other people will come up with a few more that I missed. Other than that the camera looks nice. Just not to practical for the price.
Any mention of video quality? Mic input? Seems like a review for hipsters, with all the mentions of filters and looks as opposed to a giving any direct input about picture quality, IS, video, or features other than instagram shooters who value filters more than anything else!
subbed! because of her.. hehehe.. actually i am currently looking at ALL the reviews of this PEN f, and kind of torn between this and the Panasonic GX8..
+kenishiro Gx8 has Weathersealing 4k video Much better EVF Faster AF with Panasonic lenses(DFD) Mic jack Pen F Better looks. you decide. They both have Ibis same sensor and access to the same lenses. I would ditch this disssapointment release in an instance blatantly overpriced camera for art filters? no thanks.
1barnet1 lucky that i have that adapter somewhere lying around.. if i can find them though.. lmao.. too bah i don't have panasonic lens, just one voigtlander manual lens as i have sold all my Canon gear.. lol
***** "i don't have panasonic lens" That's not a problem Panasonic bodies work as good with olympus glass or adapted lenses as Olympus bodies do. It just renders DFD useless. Also the ibis + OIS is a feature that requires Panasonic glass. This means the PEN-F gains 1-2 stops IBIS advantage over the Gx8 unless you use Panasonic lenses. The exception being the EM-1 as it works much better with old 4:3 lenses. Maybe with Canon lenses too when someone makes an adapter using the PDAF. They both have Focus peaking and punch in magnification essential for your voigtlander lens.
Thanks for this. Nice video. Have already pre-ordered. It seems like the perfect camera for the semi-serious photographer who mainly works in JPEGs.
Cheers from Austin. Just purchased an OMD EM5ii from your store.
Great casual laid back review and not too long...keep these coming. Well done!

I like the look of this camera, the on/off switch reminds me of the rewind knob of the Leica M3.

Is that a real working remote shutter release socket?
I haven't seen them for a while.
always great reviews, my fave channel in youtube now
thank you :)
"Super nifty. Really cool."
Can't imagine that you haven't been able to get in Kirk Tuck to fondle the camera instead of reading specs. :)
Is the IQ that much better than the EM1? The colors look BETTER :)
Curious... what do you guys shoot these videos with? Great videos! :)
Can you adjust raw- photos in-camera like on the Panasonic GX80?
How is the video quality on the camera?
good little review
Do you like it better than the GX8?

do a review on the new Fuji Xpro-2
nice vid. keep creating.
Does the nob on front make holding unformfortable?
Very nice presentation and a definite plus to have such an,''eye candy'',presenter as well ;)
+Beau Corr She's cute and all, but not camera ready. She seems too shy. I guess TheCameraStoreTV in Canada has pampered me too much. lol
+GaryDX25 Gotta start somewhere ;)

Yes it has 2.5mm though so you need a adapter from 2.5mm to 3.5mm for most mics.

My thoughts about this video UMMMMMMMMM
too expensive but a good camera though!
Not even a wrist strap!
hey great video, I think you sold me my 8mm fisheye, what's up?
terrible review. didn't even go into any usability issues.
+nuvigroovi Like what specifically? It's a camera. It takes photos. What are you looking for specifically?
