Wonderful in-depth overview... the best on the Pen F I have seen. I would like to point out that the Olympus Pens are some of the most criminally underrated cameras on the market. This is mostly due to the sad fact that Olympus does a bad job of advertising just how customizable they are. Most people don't realize that even with the midrange "entry level" Pen models you can customize a many of the buttons, functions, presets, and shooting modes... making these some of the most powerful photo tools in their price/ size range. If you're interested in getting or already own a Pen, download the FULL users manual and read it front to back; you will be amazed!
OMG, the Lord Jesus endorses the new Olympus PEN-F! All kidding aside, thanks for a great review. Succinct, hits all of the main points, and the pace and clarity of your review are the best among the PEN-F reviews on youtube. Thanks, again!
Very precise review.. Thanks. Which first 2 lenses would you recommend to start out with the PEN F? I'm upgrading from my first"learning" camera (Canon G7X) and would like up my game to interchangeable lenses. Mostly street and travel photography....
which do you think is the better buy -- the om-d e-5 mark II or the pen-f? I already have a Nikon and am looking for a secondary camera for blogging and vlogging. I love the Pen-f but am wondering if it's worth the extra money.
as always you make the best reviews lovely camera How big can I print with this pretty camera the photos at the stadium did you take them in manual mode are they edited what lens did you use
Thank you for the nice comment, I'm glad you enjoyed :) It has a 20 MP sensor so at a print resolution of 300dpi you should get about 12" by 18" (30x45 cm). The stadium shots were taken with the Olympus 75mm f/1.8
I am seriously considering purchasing the PEN F. I live in Dubai where they don't sell Olympus. I'm thinking of ordering it from Amazon US. In Dubai we use PAL for video which is the UK standard. But turns out the PEN F in Amazon UK is considerably more expensive than the one sold in US. Should I just order the one from US? Is there any difference between the two for it be more expensive or is it the exact same camera? Is there any PAL/NTSC differences between the two or no?? SOMEONE PLEASE ADVISE!!!
digiDIRECT is the pen f worth getting it's expensive for a M43. Is M.zuiko lenses good? Or should I go for third party lenses? Would you recommend some portrait that can achieve nice bokeh lens for me?
digiDIRECT have you heard of the zhongyi mitakon 25mm f0.95? Manual focus lens is this a better buy than Olympus very own 25mm? I don't know if it's compatible to pen F. Is the image quality of the pen F comparable to OmD EM1 Mark II? Let's juts say both shooting with 75mm is the difference big in image quality?
Hi Howard. It depends on what you're looking to shoot. For an all-rounder lens the 12-40mm f/2.8 PRO is excellent. In terms of primes, I highly recommend the 17mm f/1.8 for a street kit or 45mm f/1.8 for a portrait setup. Hope that helps
I don't want to carry on arguing, but it does seem that you, either don't understand art, and/or you are not photographer, or most likely- you just taking a piss.
greenophotography That guess leads one to believe that you're not too bright. I own many cameras and lenses, from many brands. One of my favorite walk around cameras is my Olympus E-P5. I wanted to like the Pen-F, but alas, as I said, it's a $1300 POS. Go ahead and buy it if you like. Enjoy!
+Robert LeBlanc I own both the ep-5 and the f, and if you can't tell the difference between the two then an iPhone really is probably the best option for you. Anyway, enjoy your bitterness!

I’ve had my Pen F for 8 years and over 180000 pictures, most useful camera I’ve ever owned and it’s still going strong.
Best review on the pen f Ive seen. Thank you.
One of the best videos on the Pen F. I just purchased two.
Great informative review on the PEN F. On a side note, if you close your eyes and listen to the video, it sounds like Steve Buscemi narrating!
Quinn Forrest all i hear is birds
Quinn Forrest so i guess you're right
I prefer this guy in the movie 'Fargo' - Never realised he was into cameras! Nice job.
You did a great job with the review. The Pen F looks like a nice compact camera. That huge old tree makes an awesome background. Rock on dude.
Nice common sense intro to the Pen F. No pointless comparisons with completely different brands. Answered some of the questions I had for this camera.
You're great! Thank you so much!
Excellent review. Very thorough.
Hello. Can you tell me, are you able to focus and release shutter with the touch screen, or can you only focus? Thanks for great review. :)
Great review. Informative, simple... just great. Wish you luck...

What an Amazing Review! You've earned a sub! Two thumbs up.
Nice informative and detailed review! All the time it felt like Steve Buscemi was reviewing the camera (especially the voice) ;-)
I was thinking exactly the same thing! what an excellent review though. The dude is clear snd articulate.
I thought you were in Australia. The birds on the audio were going crazy.
can you do a tutorial on using the GPS on Pen F?
a really gorgeous camera!
very good review - still trying to decide between this and a used XPro2...

how you can emulate the infrared?
Very helpful video. Thank you. Keep creating.

Take a drink every time he says "Essentially......."
You'd be essentially drunk
Is this camera still good to buy in 2017 or 2018? When they will make a successor?
Going to buy 1 soon...😅😅
Fucking hell! The birds! The birds!
Donny, you're out of your element
I know this is 2 years ago but do you think this is still better than Pen E-PL9?
This is certainly a higher-end camera then the E-PL9. Yes, I would rate it as superior
Thanks! Appreciate it!
Pen F or Fuji xt20? Bokeh wise which camera and lens is better

You sound American to me.
Dude, great review, but who the hell are you? Where is Blunty? Unleash Blunty!
+interceptorm5
No, no need for blunty, he's always "in love".
Steve here does a better job...
+νικος γιώργος Isn't "been in love" with the gear and objects what makes photography so addictive?
If you're "in love" with everything you review, there is something wrong with you...
I don't want to carry on arguing, but it does seem that you, either don't understand art, and/or you are not photographer, or most likely- you just taking a piss.
Maybe i don't understand art (what's that got to do with a camera review anyway?), but you certainly don't understand plain english...
Where's Blunty?
+Paul Amyes Although Blunty seems like he would probably be a nice guy, it's really refreshing to watch someone with less nervous energy.
So when are we stopping with the DOF bs on smaller censors?
Aesthetics alone are not enough.
wow, those birds are annoying!
Geil!
It's a $1300 POS. :/
+Robert LeBlanc Haters gonna hate.
greenophotography
Yup. When there's a $1300 POS, you'll either hate it, or you're an imbecile.
;)
+Robert LeBlanc I'm guessing you're more of a iPhone sorta photographer.

You really need a hair cut .
