I bought these and instead of cutting the net off, I pulled the elastic strap out. There is a keeper tag for the top elastic strap that may come out a tad but just use your finger or a screwdriver and push it back in. I preferred removing the entire net.
I got some about a year ago.. smallest , yet one of the best interior purchases since.. *edit* I left my mesh bags on & installed the caged over them, to use as a pocket withinside the cage.
If you are a bigger guy and you lean your left leg/calf against the door. You won’t be able to anymore. I installed these couple days ago. Spoke with DV8 and they are shipping me out the new thin Mille panels. You lose that bump out but gain your leg room back.
Nice install and great mod idea but the question I have is when the door is closed how much room is there between the newly installed cage and the side of your seat? I have small fire extinguishers installed on the sides of my driver and passenger seat and I’m afraid they might get in the way.
I have an Element fire extinguisher on the driver side, that doesn't hit it, but I can't hang a handheld radio on the outside of it without it hitting the seat. The more you go towards the front,. the more room you have available, but its a tight fit for some things. I wish I could post pictures in comments.

Saggy baf syndrome wore the paint off on my drivers side....sadly I never noticed it until it was too late...will for sure use your link next week!
