    Just got my GMRS license recently and the HA1G is my first radio and I've very impressed and pleased with the performance. Very easy to program. Def recommend it.

    The connector is pretty standard for waterproof radios. My Baofeng UV9G has the same thing.

      The baofeng pin connector isn't the same as the ha1g/hd1 multipin connector. The one on the ha1g/hd1 is also one used by Motorola. Allowing you to use actual accessories of quality

    Another great video, thank you! Do these Hd1 and Hd2 have fast frequency copy button like most Baofeng radios?

    Hi! Great info. LOVE that you can program alphanumeric characters from the unit itself! Questions: 1) How well does the color screen work in bright sunlight, e.g. on the trail? 2) How well has the user guide been written? 3) How many channels can you program? Thanks!

    Is this easier to use than the N30?..why is this cheaper( in price).. than the N30?

      @TrailTraveler the n30 is a 10watt radio...Ha1g is a 5 watt radio...will that make a big difference in range?

    a lot of people crap on FM radio being included. I think it is wise since these can (and most likely will) be used in a SHTF situation. That ability to pick up FM will allow you to get emergency broadcasts.

      Excellent point, unless the zombies took over the radio station building first.

    You do a good job in your reviews. Looks like a good radio. We are all loving the advancements in our GMRS radios. You said that you would never use the zone on the menu. Wouldn’t that be a great feature to use when you are on vacation or away from your home base in another area. Couldn’t you have all the repeaters in those areas preloaded into another zone ? I’m hoping that’s what’s it’s for.

    • @TrailTraveler
      @TrailTraveler  6 месяцев назад +1

      Absolutely you could, that would be a great use case for them.

    When you download the zip file be sure to extract it. Then it will find those missing DLL files. I just tested on Windows 10 and 11 and the software opens up fine. Good review! Thanks for taking the time.

    On other RUclips channels I've heard the company name pronounced RET-uh-vis. Do you know for certain if reh-TEE-vis is the correct pronunciation? For example, have you talked to a sales rep, perhaps at a trade show or on the phone, who pronounced it that way? LOL, I have no idea what the correct way to pronounce it is! 😂 Thanks.

      Hi dear, actually the RET-uh-vis is correct, thank you for caring about this point. We consider our users around the world have their own language pronunciation and accents, so we have not always corrected that.

    Will this radio work out of the box or does it have to be programmed before use?

    • @TrailTraveler
      @TrailTraveler  4 месяца назад

      The only reason you would need to do any programming is if you are setting up and channels with CTSS/DCS codes. Otherwise, it is ready to go.

    I enjoyed your video and just registered with fcc and paid for my license. I just watched another video of retevis. The youtuber said you could not talk to anyone else who did not have the exact same radio. Is this true for all retevis radios?

    • @TrailTraveler
      @TrailTraveler  5 месяцев назад +1

      That doesn't make any sense. All of our testing was done with non-Retevis radios without any problem.

      1st of all... everyone that's gotten raidos
      R set up with U95-K1 fittings.
      U can't up grade your Antenna to like a abbree. Or NAGOYA NA-24J There's no way to unlock it to ham or
      Wide open to use gmrs & ham. With this said if u get one then u got too change your whole
      System and equipment and buy new stuff! Just to accommodate to what you buy I don't think you're going to sell very well based on all that maybe new gmrs users that's just starting out. Now like the
      Tidraido TD-H8
      It has 10watt to 12watt and u can
      Still use gmrs @ 10watt 12watt on channel 15 - 22.

    • @TrailTraveler
      @TrailTraveler  5 месяцев назад +3

      Many people do not care (me included) if it can or can't be unlocked for HAM. I don't have a HAM license or plan on getting one anytime in the foreseeable future. This radio has the best range of any hand held I have tested, so I see no need to upgrade the antenna. This is for someone that wants a solid GMRS radio that works well. There are better choices for people that want a dual purpose radio, the TD-H8 as a good example.

      You can use Motorola accessories and usb c. It's way better than kpin. Srs or comms gear sells multi pin quick disconnects to quality ear pro or hand mics.

    • @robertcheek5962
      @robertcheek5962 5 месяцев назад +1

      Also it is unlockable. A simple search would've answered that for you.
