  • This is a great non-weightbearing exercise for strengthening the knee and leg after surgery.
For my patients, I typically prescribe at least 100 reps per day, but more is better!
I'm a big fan of combining exercises like this with other things you have to do during your day (sitting at your desk, watching a TV show, etc.). That way, it takes zero EXTRA time each day to do this drill -- which is great, because most of us don't have tons of extra time.
Once your knee has recovered enough to bear full weight again (your doctor will tell you when!), you can upgrade from this drill to more challenging leg exercises, that can get you even more progress.
Hope this helps, and let me know what you think!

Ah, this is really useful as currently very little knee mobility.

How soon after knee surgery can this exercise be done?
