Laurence additional information for this vlog. Durian is also abundant in southern Philippines that is Mindanao. It is quite popular among Mindanao residents but not with the people in the Visayas and Luzon Regions. Food in the Philippines varies among the regions. You have to visit our culinary capitals: Province of Pampanga specifically Angeles and San Fernando Cities to taste Kapampangan cuisine, Naga and Legaspi Cities in the Bicol Region for Bicolano dishes, Iloilo City for Ilonggo cuisine, and Davao City for Mindanao dishes and mixture of cuisines. Davao City is also where you can find some of the best varieties of fruits in the country ranging from Durian, Pomelo, Mangosteen, Bananas, Rambutan, Cacao, etc. If you want wildlife, it is also in Davao City where you can see up close and personal the Philippine Eagle (considered as one of the largest, heaviest and most majestic). In nearby Samal Island you can see one of the biggest bat sanctuaries in world and a seascape of giant cultured clams. You have seen only 25% of the Philippines, so come back and enjoy the scenery, culture and people of the Philippines.
Oh of course! You're right I do need to visit more areas and try more of the different cuisines... I'm definitely on board with that! Thanks so much for all of the recommendations and be sure that I have another trip in the pipeline... 😆
