Definitely needs a full 2.5in or a 3in exhaust to let the car breathe a bit more. Might sound a bit louder at idle too

I love that it's a 2023 but they didnt go over the top with the styling. Its clean and simplistic.

I duno what it is. Nissan has some magical formula that makes V6s sound great, almost like higher pitched V12.

The twin turbos really help the sound of the six cylinder engine. Not as raspy.

@@Fo20zone3Maybe not on this current exhaust setup, but V6’s are notorious for raspy ass exhaust setups when cats are removed.

How the accord 2.0s are I straight piped mine and doesn't even sound like your average 4 cylinder honda thanks to the turbo

No it doesn't. There's a reason it comes from factory with the size it does and keeping it that size but removing the mufflers and up-ing the axle back size is what makes the car sound as good as it does. If you think it sounds good on camera it sounds 100 times better in person.

The bigger the diameter, the better for the turbos.
@@christopherdaniel2747 False the turbo already supplies enough back pressure, the faster the air moves out the exhaust the better. It comes factory like that for emissions.

I actually haven’t heard this thing yet and I’ve got to say I’m disappointed in the stock exhaust, but once you guys did your magic it actually sounds really good
Just lookup any vid of the q50 or 60 3.0t with turboback exhausts. Same setup.
I have a 370Z with a 2.5" pipe straight through into an X-pipe with a couple of resonators in each bank. There is also a long tube cold air intake and a dyno tune that brought my rwhp from 282 to 321 and a uniform 16% increase in torque across the rev range. It sounds good and has made a significant improvement in the performance.
Nice. Cat backs are overrated all you need is some resonators and you’re good to go

Of course you can. The vr30ddtt sounds like a GTR with the v6 rumble with a borla exhaust and full downpipes. Every other exhaust sounds shit.

TBH, 3” from turbo back would sound 100x better, but with all the air out, you need air in, so of course run a cold air intake, toss a tune to support mods and send it.

I think you can get it with blue, white, black, silver, and gray exterior. Yellow, maroon, and red I don't think you can get the blue interior.
Gotta swap that tiny piping out for 2.5" piping. More power especially out of twin turbos.
Would definitely lose low end torque. Wouldn’t help as much as u are thinking especially on stock tune
@@dougn6465 the whole point of turbos is to utilize exhaust gases to spoil the turbine. Explain to me how that would reduce torque when increasing the cross sectional area of piping for exhaust gases.

Technically it's not a 400z since the number in the model refers to the displacement (240z is a 2.4 L24, 260z is a 2.6 L26, 280z+zx are a 2.8 L28, 300zx are 3.0 VG30 etc etc) so it's really a 300z.
tbh it might just be me but that engine does not rev very fast just looking at it on the gauges and hearing it. Prob would benefit from high performance light flywheel

I did this exact job for a customer a couple weeks back
Man this makes me think of my 370z with 3" pipe muffler delete and how it sounded beautiful. Miss that car but happy with its replacement. The 400z looks amazing with a lot of the classic 240z styling but they needed to do more to the interior which is why I ended up passing on the 400.

To be honest im a nissan guy with a 2008 350z but after seeing a couple of issues with this car im dissapointed, if i had to choose this or the manual supra i stick with the supra 😮💨

Almost the same exhaust as the 370. Restrictive 1.75 pipes like mine had. I put a 2.5 inch dual system with an x pipe and gained 20hp before I got it dyno tuned. So much potential with this car to really wake it up, but too much money for the little bit of power gain stock over the 370. I hate seeing these cars called 400Z. Thankfully Nissan dumped the number or this one would actually be a modern 300Z...
As long as you keep resonated downpipes on these, theyll sound fine with a full turboback. Will sound god awful with no resonators between the downpipe and midpipe though. A set of lower downs and an axleback sounds great on these

I did the same using the aFe Takeda exhaust. It's a pretty aggressive sound and loud inside the cabin at 60 mph. Cruising at 75 mph you can't hear it.

You can't call it a 400z because it doesn't have a 4 litre engine. 240z had a 2.4, 280 had a 2.8l, 300 had a 3l, 350 had 3.5l, 370 had a 3.7l. This car has a 3l

For a turbo car a 1.75" - 2" exhaust is TINY. Needs a 2.5" to 3" BADLY.

You need to remove the 4 catalytic converters for the vr30 to sound good. Too much noise restriction.
Not bad, but definitely a step down from the VQ37. My G37 has Invidia Gemini exhaust with Kinetix hfcs. Love it.

These cars have 4 cats. The lower cats are not monitored. They choke out the exhaust sound pretty good.
Why are people calling this a 400Z still? It’s literally an insult. The number represents the displacement not the iteration. This is more like a 300ZX2.
Most people don’t understand that most car names are named after its engine displacement not HP
