Zero chance he was talking about literal cats, even back then.
Where do think our future generations came from...they all knew this good stuff, our generation did not invent this slang
Dude knew what he was singing!! Way before his time for sure!!
basically an old timey big band version of wynona's big brown beaver lol
A lot of pre-Elvis blues and R&B was very raunchy, but all the filth was conveyed through metaphors and innuendo. Probably my favorite artist from the era was Wynonie Harris, who had songs like "Keep On Churnin' (Till the Butter Comes)" and "Lollipop Mama." Female artists were just as dirty. For instance, Julia Lee had songs like "All This Beef And Big Ripe Tomatoes" and "My Man Stands Out." After rock and roll got big and artists like Chuck Berry and Little Richard were able sell millions of records to white kids, R&B got a lot cleaner.
Those artists had their songs covered by artists like Pat Boone to get theri music out. Rock and Roll was the invention of Little Richard, only Elvis gets the credit, til this day.
lol. Um... some of it had ZERO innuendo. I went down the rabbit hole of filthy old songs, and man some of them would fit right in with today's rap if you change up the instrumentation just a bit.
😂😂😂🐈🧶 this is awesome 👏👏
I love this song so much 😂😂
😂 Brilliant! They were some filthy animals back in the day with the flapper girls and all!
Imagine gettin put on notice for a 1931 big band tune!
😅😂
Not really "big band"(that's more of a 40's thing) but ia.
Brad you are so funny and charming. I LOVE your reactions LOL LOL
You made some very valid points in this reaction Brad.
Another fun one is "Christmas Balls" - Ben Light & his Surf Club Boys. Dr. Demento would play it around christmas.
Check out Shave 'Em Dry by Lucille Bogan, she doesn't try to be clever or hide any meanin.
What a toe tappin' blast! Too funny! That's how they rolled. 😂
This just happens to be one of my uncle's favorites , hehe
Bawdy party tunes like this had limited pressing and were not played on the radio.
I love R Crumb and his cheap suit serenaders version!
You got taste!
Brad must be missing the orange already. Trying to get locked up again?
Rocket 69 by an orchestra in the 30s is swinging stuff.
LMAO
You should check out Lucille bogan
