Try taking both sections after you have done the twist technique with the robe tie and crisscross the tie behind and to the front of your head if you have enough of the tie left tie it in a secured knot in front of your head or go behind your head again and tie it there and that should be more comfortable for a nights rest hope this helps 🙂
I’ve tried this technique two ways. The first time I lightly misted my hair with water and did it on very slightly damp hair and the second time I tested it bone dry as she did in this video. The moistened hair made a beautiful defined but natural curl that lasted for days even after I brushed it, however there was a small but manageable amount of frizz after sleeping on it the first night. The dry hair made a pretty, softer curl but it didn’t last until lunch before it fell to a very loose wave if anything at all. It was a bit less frizzy but in the end the curls didn’t last. I’d say if you want lasting curls, definitely do it on moistened hair.
Just a tip: Instead of using a robe, you can use a satin/silk scarf and while making the waves, you can apply serum on ur hair. This can reduce frizz and give more defined waves♥️
Thank you!! I was wondering this. I tried with wet hair and it was waaaay to wet and it came out barely crimped. Will be trying again with ✨misted✨ hair !!!
I use a silk scarf and in the morning Moroccan oil, I only apply a little bit on my fingers and just apply to my hair. That usually does the trick, if you chose to use hair oils be carful don’t apply too much!
All I can pat attention to is the way she parted her hair. It bothers me so bad bc you can see how unnatural it is like if she were to move around in everyday life her hair would obviously fall into her eye
@@melaniestevens9664 so what if it fell on her eyes? As long as it makes her feel comfortable and cute then so be it. I i don’t understand why would anyone be bothered about this lol

I just tried these this week and it is insane! I have super straight hair too, that never holds curls no matter what, but these have lasted me all day.

this actually was very simple i have watched tiktoks about this and it was so hard following the steps.... but this was explained in full detail that really helped me !
love these! they came out so even, better than heat curls. JUST A TIP: you don’t have to do buns, instead i wrapped the rope behind my head and then tied it over top (like a headband would be positioned) to keep the twist tight! and it was super comfy for sleeping.
I tried this the other day and the results were amazing! Such a time saver in the morning. Curling my hair takes about 30 min and just wow, this is my go to hair style now!
curling with a wand is for me far superior. my hair doesn’t hold a curl but at least you just wrap and let go. trying this caused me two mental breakdowns… having autism makes that so ✨fun✨ when you wake up with bruises all over your body the next day because you got so angry you hit yourself full force over and over so you wouldn’t hit anyone else. also i am in a fragile state rn… so yeah basically i don’t understand how it’s so easy for these people. i had to have two other people hold things in place so my very straight hair wouldn’t untwist. ugh.
Alex - i did these curls last night on my waist length hair - it only took about 5-10 mins to “curl” the hair and then slept on them. This morning WOW, I’m in love and going to be using this a lot more!!! Thanks!!!
Just tried this with a thin material on fresh washed hair that had air dried but still pretty damp. I need to use something thicker because it gave me ringlets. I was afraid to use the rob because I wasn’t sure if it would be comfortable sleeping. I wrapped it over my head so I could sleep better. It works and isn’t frizzy at all. Thank you
This technique is old fashioned ringlets. My great grandmother would do this in the 1920s and 1930s. She used old pillows or sheets and cut them into lengths. Once you twisted the hair around the strand of cloth, you then wind the cloth back up the hair to the top and tie a knot with the loose end that you started with. For lasting curls, do it with wet hair.
Brings back wonderful memories, we called them "rag curls". My hair was pin straight, never held a curl unless it was set in rag curls. On special occasions, my Aunt would curl my hair this way, I loved it (it did take forever, my hair was down to my waist and was wet when set and took 2 days to dry ). Oh, the price of beauty 😂 Great video, ty
I started working in my Aunt's hair salon at age 11. I am, admittedly, more skilled at make up application than hair styling, which is why I LOVED this tutorial. I loved the heatlessly- made curls I woke to even more than the curls I methodically and time consumingly created using my rather expensive ( and somewhat dangerous) HAIR WAND!!! I absolutely ADORE the way my hair looks AND feels!!!!!

I'm so impressed with this hack. I have tried different heatless curls in the past with not much luck, but I tried this last night and I have really curly hair this morning. It took approximately 10 minutes last night to do the tie up process. That's faster than my best curling iron would do. Thank you for such a helpful video! This is my new go to.
Tried this last night. Omg it works so well. My first attempt was fab so with practice can only get better! My hair wont usually hold a curl but it lasted all day. I did it on dry hair!
I’ve tried these a few times now after I saw the method on tik tok (except I don’t put my hair into the buns, I just tie them off and leave it there) and honestly I have never tried a heatless hair method that was comfortable to sleep in and WORKED SO WELL!!! I lightly mist my hair with a spray bottle of water before doing this and the results easily last three days, until I wash my hair again. On day three the curls are usually a lot looser and bigger but still quite defined. Im never going to use a hair curler again! Whoever invented this is a genius
Hi! 😁 saw your vedio last night just before I was about to spend so much money on rollers. My hair is past my butt and curly and was looking for a heatless way of doing a soft lose curl. Well before I bought the basket full of rollers I tryed it, slept well with it and it really works!! I am so happy with the results! It was so easy and costed me $0.00. Thank you for slowing it down and explaining it! Also for the tip about various textures/size of the robe tie. I used a thin silky one in my hair and got less ideal curl...but now I know!
Thank you You showed us step by step. I saw 3 other videos and couldn't see how the hair wrapped around the robe belt.Your hair looks Beautiful.I have hair past the shoulders thick gonna try it.My hair is super straight.
I have curly hair but it is messy curly hair. I wanted to try this to refine my curls, make them look the way yours do in the video. Will doing this make my curls look less messy and more like the video
i like to wrap it over and tie behind my head and it looks like a milk maid hairstyle i'll wear it like that while doing errands and things, then i have effortless curls for the night!
I used to watch so many of your videos during my school breaks and clg breaks and now I can do a few hairstyles 😊 Never came here and said thank you to you 🥰 thank you so so much for such beautiful explaination and bringing out variety of different hairstyles 💗
Hi, Alex, I just wanna say thank you! The twisting is a game changer! I tried the robe curl before but I’ve never thought of giving it a last twist at the end, and I only got a wavy hair, which is also beautiful, as you said. But I twisted it yesterday and now I feel so pretty 🤩🤩🤩🤣🤣🤣🤣
Such a game changer for me! I I a busy Nurse Practitioner without much time to get ready in the morning......I tried this last night and my curls are beautiful and effortless. Thank you so much for sharing! 😊
You can also braid the robe into your hair (you just keep the robe in the middle, so the two pieces of hair on either side go around twice). This way the curls are going in different directions
Thank you so much for this tutorial! I tried this last minute before my graduation day and the curls turned out so nice! Actually too curly in fact and had to straighten them a bit:) but they stayed for two days after! My hair is still a little wavy right now, but this did wonders and looked really great in pictures! I found your video and decided to try it because I didn’t have a curling iron or hairspray, but this is even better and saves so much more time! Thank you again ❤
Crazy enough, I am laying in bed right now with my hair wrapped up for some heatless overnight curls! Not this method, but I'll definitely give it a try!
I tried this last night and the curls look great but it's a little hard to sleep with it, I tried to lie on the side and facing the ceiling but it felt awful. I eventually found an angle that worked but i woke up with neck pain... just keep it in mind if you're going to try it :)
I can't wait to try this! My hair and heated curls don't work. Ever. I've tried, and maybe I'm doing it wrong... But I've been searching for something easy that is heatless. Thank you!! I'm gettinf my hair done tomorrow and will try it after! I'll post my results after I try tomorrow night!
I tried this out but sleeping in the bun was uncomfortable for me. It kind of hurt my ears but it might be because I used a pretty thick rope. I found a video from Shonagh Scott and used her strategy of keeping the hair in place and it is a lot more comfortable for me. I hope some of you find this helpful. 🙂💖 Edit: And to clarify, I used a thinner rope when I tried Shonagh Scott’s strategy.
I like shonaghs version better, more comfortable it looks like, but i like this womans video better because she explains it slower, shonaghs is too fast!
Love that you mentioned camping hair. I always wear mine in double braids to sleep. Sometimes I just throw on a cap the next day and leave them in. You can do a "camping hair " video.
What products would you recommend prior to putting the robe in? Oils, dry shampoo, volume spray? When I've tried this style I notice it is extremely flat, but I tried it with wer hair.
I do something similar but I just tie a thin ribbon around my head, wrap my hair through it like a 20s headband and pin the ends in the back to keep them in. If the ribbon is pretty, it also works as a style of its own. (Elastic headbands also work but I find them too tight to wear for hours.)
I tried it and it worked!!! I am so glad. Next time i will comb my hear al little bit more. The only problem is, when you go sleeping. Not very comfortabel, but it is worht it. I had it about 12 hours on, and removed the tie or band, the last minute. It took about 9 til 10 hours the curls, but than it was getting, you know, it went down. But still, nice method.
Hi :) I’m glad I went through your video, I tried it and they came out beautiful! I had to do a double knot with my scrunchie cause I have thick hair and curls never hold .. but I amazed with the results ! Sleeping with tight buns are uncomfortable lol
This gave me very light curls, my hair doesnt hold curls very well but I was pleased with them. I had a bit of frizz but overall quite a good result. Just very uncomfortable to sleep on
I would like to add another thank you for explaining in detail and adding in what you do with your hair after! My hair is wavy and layered so without the Leia buns this would be a disaster!!!
When I've used this method in the past I split the hair in three or four sections (front to back) and start as she did but then use the ends of the robe to continue wrapping another section back to front. This way the back of your head will be as curly as the front.
@@shernchine You'd think so, but the tight wrapping she does below the ear down to the ends, and the bun really does give nice curls all the way around. I've been using various no-heat curl techniques for a good 20 years- mostly to save time in the A.M., and this is one of my favorites. I typically do it slightly damp, however, and with clean hair. The curls last for days in my experience. :)
No, not quite...Rag curls require individual strips of 'rags' and as opposed to 1 rope (divided into [obviously] 2 sections, 1 on each side, there would end up being multiple sections of hair,, most likely even nu.bers on each side...kinda same concept though.. Both results are a lil different but both are still so pretty😍 ...Btw, Girl, ur hair is absolutely GORGEOUS, w/ or w/o curls! Thanx for the über detailed description! 1st time on ur channel, and excited to check out more🙂
They turned out great! I tried it today! (Of course they're not as good as yours, because you're a pro, but I'm very happy with them!) Thanks for the tutorial. 😁
This is very close to the method I've been using every night. In the one I do you curl each side around all at once then wrap the scarf back over them so instead of being at your ears they lay like sausages over your shoulders while you sleep. I think I'll incorporate this method to get a few curls going higher up. Thank you!
I love heatless curls method Can you do a heatless beach waves tutorial? I would love that since I have really really straight hair and I can find a method that works and lasts more than 3 hours🙁 btw love you🌺
I watched another video on how to do these curls but I didn’t understand the last part because she didn’t do little buns like you so your hair was just kinda loose so I was looking for a better explanation and I’m glad I found yours!
I wonder how the back of the hair looks since you just used the front of your hair to wrap around the rope. I've seen other videos where the hair is divided into two sections and wrapped around the rope in different directions. I guess I'll just have to try this out to find the perfect technique for me. Beautiful curls either way!! 😍

Try taking both sections after you have done the twist technique with the robe tie and crisscross the tie behind and to the front of your head if you have enough of the tie left tie it in a secured knot in front of your head or go behind your head again and tie it there and that should be more comfortable for a nights rest hope this helps 🙂

Literally
So simple and easy 👌 I love it
Just a tip: Instead of using a robe, you can use a satin/silk scarf and while making the waves, you can apply serum on ur hair. This can reduce frizz and give more defined waves♥️
You can also use a setting lotion + water in a spray bottle to help the curls last longer if your hair is dry. 😊

Tried this last night and I'm obsessed!
I've been using my quarantine time to experiment with curls on my hair. I gave up on the iron because it took forever and my long hair fell flat within 2 hours. I just tried this heatless curls method a few days ago but without the bun. My curls were great near my face, but they were barely waves at the back. I'll try it again tonight with the bun! Thank you!
Wow this is the best heatless curl everrr!! I have 3a/b hair and i did this on my brushed out day 5 hair and it worked wonders!! I had no idea my curls could get looser and wavier without heat💕💕
since your hair is thicker did you do like 4 wraps or did the 2 work?
Same!
@@crashcoursevideos_ I used 4 wraps. I tried 2 this one time and the curls were still good it's just that the back of my head was a lot less curly then the front

Willie is looking like a 7pd sheepdog his hair has gotten so long . I hope the dog groomer opens soon lol or I might have to take the scissors to him. Lol
Love you💙💙💙
Absolutely love the curls too! I've tried them and I was not disappointed x
@@FrankieWhite that is fantastic!! I'll definitely have to try them... Thank you 💙💙💙
1) i like your hair
2) i like your eyes
3) i like your smile
4) i like your softly voice
5) you killing me softly slowly
6) because you are so pretty and precious..... from Germany
U r so pretty and I will try this tonight🙂🙂🙂🙂
Alex, благодарим за полезната информация!!! Бъдете щастлива!!! Поздрави!!!
Thank you for slowing it down and explaining it! Also for the tip about various textures/size of the robe tie. I used a thin silky one in my hair and got less ideal curl...but now I know!
Thank you
You showed us step by step.
I saw 3 other videos and couldn't see how the hair wrapped around the robe belt.Your hair looks Beautiful.I have hair past the shoulders thick gonna try it.My hair is super straight.
Tried this on my channel too, out of all the heatless curls I tried, this became my new fav too! Yours turned out beautifully! 😍😍😍
I have curly hair but it is messy curly hair. I wanted to try this to refine my curls, make them look the way yours do in the video. Will doing this make my curls look less messy and more like the video
This worked so amazing. Got so many compliments at school!
i like to wrap it over and tie behind my head and it looks like a milk maid hairstyle
i'll wear it like that while doing errands and things, then i have effortless curls for the night!
I used to watch so many of your videos during my school breaks and clg breaks and now I can do a few hairstyles 😊
Never came here and said thank you to you 🥰 thank you so so much for such beautiful explaination and bringing out variety of different hairstyles 💗
I've done this for years, except without the tie. It results in much tighter curls, I'm going to try this method too!
Your heartless curls are the BEST!😊I tried them in my hair and they turned out PERFECT
It's fantastic! I've tried, and the result is beautiful. I love it!
Such a game changer for me! I I a busy Nurse Practitioner without much time to get ready in the morning......I tried this last night and my curls are beautiful and effortless. Thank you so much for sharing! 😊
Ah this is so amazing to hear, I am so glad they worked for you! ❤️
You can also braid the robe into your hair (you just keep the robe in the middle, so the two pieces of hair on either side go around twice). This way the curls are going in different directions
Sounds like that would result in perfect Beach Waves 🌊😎👍
Omg 😱 it worked, i never thought it will work on my hair cuz its many but it worked omg i am so happy thank you
did you use sum water?
tried this last night on my hair and it turned out so nicely thank you for this tutorial ❤️
This shit works! I’m extremely happy with the results , honestly I didn’t think it would turn out this good
Going to try this tonight! Thank you for slowly going through the whole process for beginners like me!!
I hope you love them! ❤️
@@AlexGaboury Your tutorial worked!! I felt like Princess Leia when I went to bed! LOL! My hair looks amazing today!! Thank you!!
I love this as it means I can wake up in the morning and my hairs already looking great for work !
this is my favorite channel by far:))
You’re the best!!
Haven‘t slept the whole night with these on my head!🙉🙉🙉
Those curls look gorgeous!!!!!
First day of work tomorrow and trying this out. Thank you for the tutorial 🙂
Yes!!!!! I’ve missed you!! Yay can’t wait to try this!!!
I just tried this and it was a pain in the butt to do if these curls don't come out good count your days lady
LMFAOOOOOOOOO
Edit: And to clarify, I used a thinner rope when I tried Shonagh Scott’s strategy.
Beautiful result!
✨I made mine with a bun 👱🏻♀️ & bathrobe belt!!✨
Thank you for sharing this! The results are absolutely amazing, I can't believe how easy it is and wish I'd discovered it years ago.
The curls look beautiful I’m definitely going to try this method
The tip with twisting really did the trick! Thanks
What products would you recommend prior to putting the robe in? Oils, dry shampoo, volume spray?
When I've tried this style I notice it is extremely flat, but I tried it with wer hair.
I AM IN LOVE WITH THE RESULTS
😭❤️🙌🏻
Soooo gorgeous!!!! I cant believe you dont have to use water!!😱 I've been wanting to try these , I'll tag when i do! Xoxox
Just tried these last night! It worked perfectly! I love them!!
I do something similar but I just tie a thin ribbon around my head, wrap my hair through it like a 20s headband and pin the ends in the back to keep them in. If the ribbon is pretty, it also works as a style of its own. (Elastic headbands also work but I find them too tight to wear for hours.)
Fantastic tutorial! 1- Princess Leah 2- great ear muffs for cold weather! Lol I just tried it. Will comment tomorrow.
I’ve just tried this tutorial, can’t wait to take everything off and see 😍😍😍
Me too. Can't wait to go to sleep tonight and see what tomorrow brings.
I’m waiting for updates! 😍
Alex, what a great idea! I can’t wait to try this method! I love your videos so please keep them coming!
i recommend clipping the robe to the top of your head so it doesnt fall, it makes it so much easier!
Hi :) I’m glad I went through your video, I tried it and they came out beautiful! I had to do a double knot with my scrunchie cause I have thick hair and curls never hold .. but I amazed with the results ! Sleeping with tight buns are uncomfortable lol
Best tutorial Ive found! Definitely trying these sometime.
Edit: I tried them last night, so cute!
I like that these are in buns, other ones I tried I had to take out during the night bc I was afraid of being strangled 😂 #paranoid
This gave me very light curls, my hair doesnt hold curls very well but I was pleased with them. I had a bit of frizz but overall quite a good result. Just very uncomfortable to sleep on
Thank you for explaining along the way, the videos Iv watched before was not explained as good as this, I’m definitely gonna try ❤️
Aw I’m so glad! I felt the same way when I first saw them on TikTok, I made so many mistakes! 🤣
I would like to add another thank you for explaining in detail and adding in what you do with your hair after! My hair is wavy and layered so without the Leia buns this would be a disaster!!!
That's cool, but how do they look in the back? Because you are not able to curl the upper back part of your hair...
yeah, the back probably looks weird because it's not curled, hence she is not showing it
When I've used this method in the past I split the hair in three or four sections (front to back) and start as she did but then use the ends of the robe to continue wrapping another section back to front. This way the back of your head will be as curly as the front.
@@embror sorry what do you mean?
It looks kind of flat at the back 😕
@@shernchine You'd think so, but the tight wrapping she does below the ear down to the ends, and the bun really does give nice curls all the way around. I've been using various no-heat curl techniques for a good 20 years- mostly to save time in the A.M., and this is one of my favorites. I typically do it slightly damp, however, and with clean hair. The curls last for days in my experience. :)
doing it now, i’ll update y’all what the finish product is
update: IT CAME OUT SO GOOD
In the old days..1920's they were called rag curls. Like shirley temple if u use smaller strips
1st time on ur channel, and excited to check out more🙂
Also, Shirley temple had pin curls
OMGAWD I DID THIS.
MY HAIR IS SUPER LONG.... AND IT WORKED.
THANK YOU.
Oh man!! I can't wait to try that!! xD I'ma hopefully do it tonight. :D
You’ll love them, let me know how they turn out! 😍
@@AlexGaboury Alright! :D
Thank you!
6:41 happy mothers day for you. Have a nice day
I cannot believe this works so well on dry hair
I love heatless curls method
Can you do a heatless beach waves tutorial? I would love that since I have really really straight hair and I can find a method that works and lasts more than 3 hours🙁 btw love you🌺
Omg me, plus curls don't work for me, because after 1 hour they get wavy and by the end of the day they turn back to (almost) straight again😫
Absolutely! Have you tried these ones? The next day they turn into the perfect beach wave! 👌🏼 ❤️
@@AlexGaboury yeeeees I did and I love how they turned out😍
@@AlexGaboury However I'll try to leave the curls and see how they become🌺 thanks

I used the robe tie today!!! It totally works I was shocked!!🤩🤩🙌🏻🙌🏻
I love your version!!! I’ve tried the other version on my daughters hair and it just fell out, I will try this way tonight!! ❤️❤️
YAY! Let me know how it goes!
Alex Gaboury thank you! I certainly will! ❤️ it’s morning time here is Aussie so I literally can’t wait until tonight! 🤣
I watched another video on how to do these curls but I didn’t understand the last part because she didn’t do little buns like you so your hair was just kinda loose so I was looking for a better explanation and I’m glad I found yours!
The buns may look silly, but they're key! 🙌🏻❤️
@@AlexGaboury yeah it sure it is! ❤️
I wonder how the back of the hair looks since you just used the front of your hair to wrap around the rope. I've seen other videos where the hair is divided into two sections and wrapped around the rope in different directions. I guess I'll just have to try this out to find the perfect technique for me. Beautiful curls either way!! 😍
I wish I had of shown the back but I promise it looks just as curly as the front! ❤️
Trying right now: Followed you as you done it and I've not got it in my head 😊 - I'll see what it's like tomorrow for Christmas 🎄😁🤞🏻
