Hi! I really liked this video. It helped me to understand better and learn. As a tech grad student, I need to create video presentations. That's why I'm considering buying the Rode Podmic USB and the Focusrite Vocaster One. What do you think about it? 😊
I really like the vocaster one if I didn't have the minifuse 1 I would buy the vocaster in a heart beat I also got a windscreen for my Rode podmic and I absolutely love it
Nice work man, great demo. Question… how would the iPhone be connected to this unit? Is there a specific lightening cable that I would need? I think the larger version of this interface utilizes Bluetooth, but I don't believe this smaller version has that option. Thank you.
Hi Jordan. A question. Is the Vocaster able to drive the 250 ohms version of the DT990? I've been trying to find that info to make sure that is the interface for me
I missed the in depth review of the asio driver and the separate audio channels, that can be turned on in windows. Also I wanted to know, how to mute the microphone in the monitor mix while having it included in the stream mix. I don't know, if these features were already available at the time the video was made, but I'm a bit disappointed not to find this information.
I just purchased the Vocaster One and none of my headphones seem to be compatible with the port on the front. Is there a special kind of cable I need? Thanks for the great video!
Solid demo vid, Jordan. You've got another sub. Hey, just wondering if you think the Vocaster 2 is a viable/capable alternative to the Rodecaster Pro if one is doing a simple pre-recorded podcast (no live-streaming) involving one to two people and adding all bumper music and sound effects in post. Also wondering if both the USB port and TRS jack can output signals simultaneously, so one can record both onto a laptop and directly into a camera at the same time. Thanks much. Be blessed today.
Do you know if this can work independently of being connected to a PC .> ID like to be able to use this as a stand alone device that takes a monitor send from a mixer that I can then send to my Camera and be able to monitor with headphones.
at what level should my audio input on my camera should be ? when I go too high I get this background white noise and when I go too low you can barely hear me at the loudest volume in a device , any advice? I am using the vocaster 2 with the same rode mics and a direct plug in to my sony zv1f camera for audio , thank you in advance
We only use analog mixers for youtube. Live events are 100% digital since 2018. The only time we use analog mixers for an event is if its a single mic + music.
you might be talking into the side of the rode podmic. Remember it's a dynamic microphone, everything besides the front will be hard to hear. Also make sure you're close to it, dynamic mics are not meant to be a meter away from the audio source. I've owned about 3 podmics now and used them with all sorts of interfaces, some to mention would the rodecaster pro, goxlr fullsize, vocaster one, EVO4. The mic definitely does not need a cloudlifter with any of these.
@@3rr0rcs5 talking right into the front, maybe 3 inches from my face. i have to crank it on the three interfaces i have used because nobody can hear me without a preamp
@@Raven.tech614?? alright brother thats definitely not how things are supposed to be.. i have the podmicusb and a vocaster and it works perfectly fine without a pre amp? maybe one of your devices has a defect i cant think of anything else
Hy i have the volcaster one with the audio technica i try setting up with the feelworld livepro Lv 1 with multiple camaras it sound horrible but if i connected without the volcaster it sounds good but i thing i miss something. Or i did something wrong.
Super helpful video even in 2024, you are the best
Just picked up both today! Cheers Kettner!
Thank you Jordan, I bought the Focusrite Vocaster One from your link :)
You didn't mention the need for a 3.5 to 1/4 adapter needed for headphones

Great video, what are some softwares that are great to work with?

Nevermind. Just found your video
Great video, does muting using the interface mute button also change the mute status in the software (vocaster hub)?
I really appreciate your work.

How does Vocaster One compare to the Rode Streamer X... I am a total noob to this audio thingy stuff

Hey man! I would love to know the Lavalier model that you use in this episode. Also the editing process. It sounds great! Thank you so much.
i noticed the 48v power wasn't on, should it on or off for the podmic?
Can you use this product without using the software or downloading anything. ?
How do we connect audio that we hear in our headphones to the camera?

I hope they made a dark mode of the software. 😊

Hi, Jordan, do you always use analog mixers on your gigs? It would be nice to see content about digital mixers on the go.
We only use analog mixers for youtube. Live events are 100% digital since 2018.

So since it doesnt have output for speakers i also need a soundcard for my pc speakers?
i have the vocaster one and a rode podmic. you need a preamp. i have to max my mic out for it to pick up

I'm not familiar with the Livepro LV1. Hard for me to guess what the issue is at this point.
you could also use all these on a windows pc right?
Yes
