Wow, what a delightful and entertaining video! It's like a window into a quirky and adventurous world filled with books, travels, and even a dog's beach adventure! The way you effortlessly share your excitement for new book purchases is both relatable and contagious. And let's not forget Jacob, the star of the show with his cone of shame - what a trooper! Sending virtual pats and well wishes to him. This video truly brightened my day and left me itching to explore those recommended reads. Thanks for sharing such an enjoyable and witty experience!
Ben! 🌹🌹🌹hope u enjoy x love a book haul for sure also love that cover of libra by don delillo.. never seen that one... he's an author i really want to read
I have been saving this as some JOY to watch when I have the post Hay Festival blues and now is that time and the JOY was brought thank you as always. Loved how it kept giving, a vlog, a haul, a bathroom haul. I really need to read The Seas, though I weirdly have started to think maybe I have before. I hope you enjoy The Bass Rock and Violets (and all the books of course!) Bless Jacob and his cone, on and off. I think I am also going to have to watch Pleasures of the Text and have a binge.
I have to say I feel the same way about Cusk. She’s like my comforting place. It’s the only time I May read on my phone on a plane to calm my nerves. Dipping into one of the Outline trilogy. 😊
i loved the second storyline of this video..starring Jacob. I knew he will eventually take off the cone and the thrill was if and when you’ll realise it 😁 very funny!
I have to confess that your vlogs have been a true inspiration to get me out of my reading slump. A small recommendation for mosquito bites - tea tree oil. It also prevents insects from coming near you as they don't like the smell, including ticks and such.
Love and support this book haul. So many good titles! ❤ checkout 19! It definitely made me excited to read more and discover more authors! Curious to hear your thoughts on Elvia Wilk once you’ve read Oval, I’m interested in her essay collection as well!
I totally empathize with the impulsive book-buying...I was able to order a few books before Book Depository closed down (I'm still mourning over it lol) and that just triggered a whole cascade of online book shopping from places like Abebooks and HalfPriceBooks. I don't even know how many books have yet to be delivered at this point. For the orders that have arrived from Book Depository, I'm a bit disappointed they didn't come with their free bookmarks, but considering the whole situation it makes sense.
Lol i too have the itch both bug and spendy kinds, esp from reading checkout19 bc i actually haven’t read many of the books she talks about nor do i own them so im like well should i add to cart 🤔🤔🤔 but im finding it hilarious that we’re both wanting to buy books not from the checkout19 list but from other booktubers! 😂 im also v intrigued by elizabeth bowen-another irish writer! I moved around so much in my 20s w sooo many boxes of books and it was hard but i have no regrets as they are my friends nay, my family.
we've all been there buying too many book haha love the red lips with the blue shirt at the end such beautiful colors!! I'm also reading checkout 19 atm, enjoying it and looking up the authors she mentions:)
Have you heard of 'H is for Hawk' by Helen Macdonald, it is non fiction & is about how the author trains a goshawk after the sudden death of her father. 2 books I have read this month, that had an underlying theme of grief from a death of a father is; 'The German Room' by Carla Marliandi & 'trespasses ' by Louise Kennedy. They are fiction books. My ❤ is with you in your grief. I became an avid reader after the death of my daughter because in books I could find moments of clarity that express exactly how I felt. Jacob is 💞
so many good books! i loved cursed bread btw, i think you will like it a lot. it's dark, hypnotic, and extremely atmospheric. i now have a lot of books to add to my list. also, i heard that when downsizing, books don't count... right?? x
I love an impulsive book haul 😊

Oh my god! Jacob when you put his cone back on him, his expression is killing me.
Sometimes you gotta buy the 20 books and deal with the consequences later. Love you xxx
