i had a similar lovely experience with my library when i first moved too!! just wandering and picking up alllllll the books. the lighting in this was gorg and i’m living for the chill webcam revolution that you’ve started lmao. hope you love the man who saw everything - it blew my mind!! honored to be your treadmill companion, thank you for the shoutout!! 🤩
Catching up with your videos as i am sitting on the train & i am loving every second of it! I immediately move to the english section of the library. my local library doesn't support libby unfortunately and the only library card i have is from dundee, scotland which only really allows me to read the new yorker... i am however actively planning on finessing some more library cards! i have also gotten into the newspaper section lately because i just looooove print (in general).
I am reading a Levy right now too: Things I don't want to know ! My first of hers !! Also I am definitely hitting the fiction shelves before the nonfiction at the library !
Gotta love a good library, I should be heading to my local one more often, naughty me. I always head to new fiction when I do go in. What a fab mix of books. Also, the lighting in this video is gorgeous, so the apartment/forest is fab on that front.
I think the bookstore is such a special experience as well, the library maybe a bit less glamourous. But honestly, always dead quiet which is wonderful these days. Big hugs Simon!
I make it a point to visit the library every Wednesday. I am drawn to the mystery, thriller, suspense, and intrigue genres. Occasionally, I also explore non-fiction books, but I am always eager to delve into anything that captures my interest at the time. I hold library cards for both the city and county libraries, ensuring I have access to a wide range of reading materials.
I lived in Richmond for years (& am getting married there in October) & there is no other place like it. Definitely see myself going back for good in the next couple of years! I hope you choose to stay!
rn I'm reading My Work by Olga Ravn - because of your rec, so thank you! I love a good surreal early motherhood book. I actually have to go to the library today to return some due books. My habit in my tiny library is to (hopefully) leave my two young kids in the children's section and hit up the cookbook section. So domestic. lol. xoxo
Yay! I’m glad your library is good. I hit the new translated fiction section! You know how much I looove the library, but the library has to be a decent one! Oooh Claire Keegan. ❤❤. I also read The Man Who Saw Everything and….im still trying to figure it out, really. Oooh I also need to get to more Hustvedt.
Ooooo I don't think my library had a specific section for translated works, but I shall inquire the next time I go in. I've heard The Man Who Saw Everything is a strange one, and kind of flips at one point. I am intrigued! Big hugs friend!
I feel like having access to a decent library is such a privilege and i try to go every couple of weeks. I always head to the new fiction first and then I drift through the fiction shelves. Currently reading Exhibit by R.O. Kwon and loving it. Can't wait to hear what you think about Sorrows of an American and Deborah Levy's book. 😊
I wonder if you’ve ever considered Philly as a home base - it’s a two hour train ride from NY but has a much lower cost of living. Lots of things to do. It’s kinda dirty but I get the sense the people are good
i like good people! a cousin of mine lives in Philly and has suggested it to my partner and I on a few occasions! we should go and check it out - thank you!!!!
I have noticed that in recent weeks commercials on RUclips are more aggressively pushed on users. To watch over 8 commercials (most of them you cannot even skip) for a video of 24 minutes takes away from enjoying the actual video. If you can check and control how many, if any at all can be placed on your videos and thus decrease the number I would greatly appreciate it.
Oh! Thank you so much for this feedback! I will definitely look into this...definitely don't want it to be an unpleasant viewing experience and that sounds really abnormal.

i am still so surprised that it led to a revolution!!!!!!! can’t wait to chat with you when i finish the Levy! hugs !

I'll definitely come back with my thoughts on those two. A good library truly is a privilege. I got lucky!
Gotta love a library.
yes!!
I love checking out the staff picks when going to the library. 🤍
me too!!!
I think another book you would also enjoy by Siri Hustvedt is The Shaking Woman or a History of My Nerves.
That one is on my list as well! Thanks :)
