      Hi Carjo! He’s keeping the doors open so I guess there’s enough money in that little town to sustain him. I couldn’t afford to buy much there. I could’ve easily spent $600.00 there on records I’d love to have but that’s how much money I allotted myself for the whole trip. I left with a $20.00 record. It was my first stop on my 16 day vacation up there. I’m more of a digger than I am a retail shopper. If money was no object I’d a took home some great records. I’m glad I held back in there because I found some great records in the wild and still came home with $250.00 in my pocket. 😁

    I’ve missed this episode. Awesome place and some top notch records. That Bee Gees Odessa records is hard to find in decent condition. It has that velvet like cover finish that flakes over time. Not sure if that was an original tho.

      I should’ve looked closer at it. I’m pretty good friends with, Mark, the owner. Questions are just a text message away. Let me know if you want all the info on the Odessa record. ✌🏽🫶🏽

      @@TheVinylRecordMission Thanks Steve. I’m not looking for a copy, BGees aren’t my thing but I know someone who was looking for one in good shape. I’ll try to find out if he’s still interested. That antique shop had a very well curated collection. Pricing I’m not so sure about but some real gems in there for sure.

    Impossible to make out prices. Probably for the best 😁 great little store there, thanks for taking me through it. Edit: odd looking Electric Ladyland, unofficial?

      Hi DBD. I’ll be the first to admit this is not one of my best flip videos. I was going a little too fast and the camera angle was awkward because the bins were high. It is very cool to have such a decent curated record store in such a small town as Taos New Mexico. Sean, the owner comes across some heavy hitting records in the area surrounding Taos. I do believe the electric Ladyland was unofficial release. Thanks for checking out the video.

    I will never own a butcher cover! Nice trip through those bins. I saw some awesome records. Great looking store 🙂

      I only own a professionally peeled 3rd state OG Butcher Cover because I got mine for $1.99 at a Goodwill Bookstore down the street from my house in 2017, lol. I feel you though. I’m waiting for the right time to sell mine so I can buy another storage locker full of records 😂

      @@TheVinylRecordMission $1.99! Honestly, if I ever stumbled upon one, I would probably sell it. I rather have a locker full of records 🙂

    You we t to a record store and did t even bring $1500 in cash, what’s up with that Steve? I thought everyone always had at least $1K in their wallet. Nice store, cool albums but I really liked the art

      Bird is the word. When I have an extra $1,500 burning a hole in my pocket I make sure I come home with at least 50,000 records 😂

    Hey Steve! Is IG the best way to contact the store from afar? If folks were interested in buying from other states?

    • @TheVinylRecordMission
      @TheVinylRecordMission  3 месяца назад +1

      I believe IG is a good way to reach him. Mark’s pretty good about getting back to people. I can text him and ask him what the best way to go about is and let him know you’ll be reaching out.

    Steve, can you please get back to showing the boxes of 45's and lps? Flipping through racks of store stock just doesn't do it!

    • @TheVinylRecordMission
      @TheVinylRecordMission  3 месяца назад

      Hi Paul. I do a dig video at our storage unit once a week. I respectfully disagree with your comment. Here’s why. The view counts and “positive comments” we get on the videos you don’t care for tells us that other viewers are enjoying the content you don’t care for. I’m ok you not liking our other content. I’m not offended by that at all. We can’t and clearly won’t please everyone. However, we won’t allow 1 viewer to dictate the content we create. We will always do our once a week video showings of boxes of 45s and LPs as that is our main draw. Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us, Paul. I hope you don’t mind my sharing our thoughts with you. Take care.
      Respectfully,
      Steve

      Steve, By no means am I trying to dictate any format. I just feel that a record store ( as great as it is) is not something I wish to view. Collecting to me has always been the thrill of the hunt. Record stores to me are like shooting ducks in a barrel. I will still continue to watch for the times that the hunt is on. Thanks for listening !

      @@paulsponable9080 I fully respect your point of view, Paul, and our ability to keep things amicable. I just finished filming Dig number 8. I found some killer records! I’m sure you’ll enjoy the video which will be uploaded tomorrow Tuesday 6/4. I didn’t get to any 45s this dig. I did 4 boxes of LPs. I’ll get back to mixing 45s in with LPs next week. Take care, Paul.
