Win goes to you Steve. As much as I'd love a VU in that condition and its historical importance is unquestionable its still a major label release that 1000s of people own. The Inner City Review is incredibly rare (can't see a popsike sale?) so no matter how deep your pockets it would be very difficult to source a copy whilst a VU could be bought without too much difficulty. In my world that's a true grail, obscure and under the radar. Plus, I like the backstory, found the way it should be... digging in a crate in a obscure location and at very little cost. The Perfect Circle is another great score. Cheers Nige
Hi Nigel. I greatly respect your attention to the details. I’ve only just shared the tip of the iceberg of the George Semper story. George’s son Joel has agreed to sit with me and interview him. Joel will be sharing everything he knows about his father’s amazing music career. Thank you so much for your support and for sharing your thoughts. ✌🏽 Steve
@@spectrum_archives Hi Fred. Thanks for sharing your enthusiasm about Inner City Review. I will certainly be impressed by anyone who is in the know about George Semper. Thank you for watching and taking the time to share your thoughts. I just subscribed to your channel. Looking forward to your content. ✌🏽 Steve
Both awesome picks. Grails for me tho are simply rarities that simply aren’t seen in the wild or have a presence on hi-res streaming services. Spinning those in your own listening room is kind of special and rewarding experience.
What’s up brother Mariusz. I completely understand your grail preference. I know for sure I have a couple records like you mentioned I just can’t remember where I put them 😂😂🤣. I’ll have to search for them for future videos. Even though my Inner City Review is 1 of 100 copies known to mankind that have ever surfaced, the album was reissued in 2020 in a very limited run only because Gilles Peterson (UK DJ) somehow found the test pressing of this exact record. If it weren’t for him this record would be non existent except for my copy. Damn him!!! 🤣🤣 It’s not everyone’s jam but nothing is, right? The music on Inner City Review is on a higher level of greatness, both visionary and revolutionary. ✌🏽✌🏽👍🏽🫶🏽
Thank you, Greg. There’s an amazing story behind that little Bodega in Colorado that I’ll share another time. I’m going be interviewing George Semper’s Son Joel very soon. You’ll hear the entire story then. It’s beyond a grail for me. Thanks for watching, Buddy. ✌🏽
@@stevecarlsonvinylcommunity9147 Thanks, Steve! Glad you enjoyed it. Ryan 3 Steve 0. It’s looking pretty grim for me at the moment lol. I’m feeling like Rodney Dangerfield up in here! 🤣
I don't have to see any more ! VU debut w/ Eric Emerson's image on the back, unpeeled banana VG++ Amazing ! Ok.. I'll watch the rest ! LoL !! ☺I knew Ryan was gonna show "Appetite" right before he did ! Your George Semper is otherworldly, and "The Hands Of Time" would be a good one to get on re issue. 18.00 USD right now from Kay Dee records web page
Hahahaha you had me going there for a minute, JT. I thought you were tapping out. Ryan 2 Steve 0. I agree with you, Ryan’s OG VU nanner is a killer! Yes indeed, The Hands of Time is a banger. The best $18.00 one can spent for a 7” 45 reissue. I do hope they release a reissue of the entire album one day. I know it will do very well. Thanks for voting. ✌🏽
I just listened to the George Semper "The Hands Of Time" streaming, excellent ! That first track has the horns doing staccato motifs like Tower Of Power as I'm sure that George was a good buddy of Emilio and Doc from TOP. You had the rarest of the rare, Steve !
@@jtsrecordroom3963 Glad you enjoyed it. More than likely all those notables knew who George was. They may have even worked together behind the scenes from time to time.
Great unique picks Steve but Ryan came out of the corner like “Smokin Joe” Frazier; then he followed with the Knockout Blow. He is now Ryan the “Hitman” G. Or “Smokin Ryan G. You better apply the Ice Pack. Hope you’re not in too much pain 😂.
I actually have an Appetite STAMPED PROMO w/ orig cover and type-written 3 page letter from 87, explaining who Guns N Roses is. Got it for $4 back in 89
Steve, can't really pick a winner. Such different picks and reasons why they matter. I hope to see more in this series. At least I am familiar with Ryan's, but yours seem rarer. Thanks, Chris

These were all great, but it's VU for me! (I have an 80s Canadian pressing).
I thought you were my friend, bro! 😂🤣😇 VU is ultra iconic. Great choice, Brian. ✌🏽
Well that was easy for me, VU for the win. I have the first press the the banned back cover but the banana is almost gone. That was exciting
