  • ✓ Another video recorded at our favourite South Indian restaurant located in Harrow, London. This video is a recipe process video uploaded specially for Veganuary 2021.
    In this video Chef Himal & Rajnikant kindly reveals some of the recipe secrets behind making such delicious Medu Vadas which are crispy on the outside and fluffy soft on the inside.
    One of the main "secrets" is that a stone grinder (specially imported from India) is used in the grinding process to acheive that authentic taste and texture.
    SOUTH INDIAN MEDU VADA:
    * Pre-soaked Urid Dal (ground in a Stone Grinder for about 40 minutes)
    Once the Urad Daal is ground in the grinder, the following ingredients are added:
    * Whole Cumin Seeds (Jeera)
    * Salt
    * Chopped fresh Green Coriander
    After the Urad dal is ground the batter/dough increases in volume and is ready to use straight away, the dough is shaped by hand and deep fried in Vegetable Oil, perfect timing is also crucial in acheiving perfect Medhu Vadas. Call them South Indian "Savoury Doughnuts" if you wish...

    Awesome. This is my favourite South Indian restaurant. The food too authentic and amazing. They also cater for parties and functions off site. This is a proper Indian cafe style restaurant. Don't expect gourmet decor, but expect gourmet South Indian cuisine. This is close to Kenton Station.

    Hello it’s been awhile since I visited this channel, have always enjoyed the street food video’s. How is it going with making video’s during COVID-19 actually, is it hard or can you not do it at all?

      Hello, thank you for re-visiting my channel.
      London is in a 3rd lock-down now and since the start of the pandemic i have been very cautious about going out to record.
      Fortunately I have a lot of footage which i still have in my archives which I am using for the time being, (i have had to reduce my upload schedule to 1 video a week).
