  • "The Robert Johnson" is the nickname for a guitar owned by Jean-Marie Aerts, this guitar is about 90 years old and exactly the same make as one of the guitars Robert Johnson used to play, a Gibson L1 flat-top. In this video René van Barneveld and "The Robert Johnson" meet for the first time and magic happens. Video shot by Gil Le Kvern at Jean-Marie Aerts place during the preparing of the 1998 JMX tour. More Gil le Kvern and JMX material can be found on www, highway.fr , Enjoy!

one of the most criminally under-appreciated guitarists of his time. Life n Perspectives is a landmark album and his guitar work on that record is a major reason why (as is DNA's turntable work). His melodicism, dexterity, and the diversity of his playing are quite remarkable and deserve a much larger audience.
